Coronation Street's Samia Longchambon wows fans with stunning new hairstyle debut
Samia Longchambon has played Maria Windass in Coronation Street for 25 years and the actress has now been branded as 'gorgeous' after she underwent a summer transformation Coronation Street's Samia Longchambon has received a deluge of praise as she showcased her fresh and summery new hair. The star, known for her portrayal of Maria Windass - previously Sutherland and Connor - on the ITV soap, recently marked an impressive 25 years in Weatherfield. Away from the cobbles, Samia Longchambon often delights fans with updates on social media, and she recently reposted a clip to her Instagram from her recent visit to the hair salon. The Coronation Street favourite treated herself to a hair makeover at the hands of Calum Tierney, the stylist responsible for Michelle Keegan's iconic tresses. In a video captioned by Calum, we see Samia flaunting her new hairdo and even taking the scissors into her own hands in a cheeky homage to her character Maria's profession, with Calum quipping: "'Warning: May cause toffee cravings.'" He continued, teasing a crossover: "'We're mixing things up - I'm now off to work with Maria at Audrey's on Corrie.' Toffee Bronde on the gorgeous @samia_longchambon." Samia was quick to chime in, expressing her delight: "So much fun.. and LOVE my new do." Her transformation also sparked envy from fellow Corrie star Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, as she playfully asked: "Please can I have your hair - just for one day?" Sally Carman-Duttine, portraying Abi Webster, complimented: "Soooooo gorgeous." Fans too showered Samia with praise, with comments such as "Wow. Debuting on the street back in 2000, Samia secured her role over notable names like Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh and Hear'Say's Suzanne Shaw. Initially introduced as an employee at Sutherland's Kennels, her character became a mainstay after accepting Tyrone's proposal on top of Blackpool Tower. Throughout her tenure, which has only been interrupted by two maternity leaves in late 2009 and 2015, Samia has been at the centre of numerous high-octane plots. Celebrating her milestone, she took to Instagram in May to post a throwback cast card from her start on the show alongside a recent snap outside Audrey Roberts' salon, writing: "25 years today since 'Maria' first stepped onto the cobbles @coronationstreet. "Feeling nostalgic going through old photos.. this is my first cast card from 2000 and then my latest one!" She continued: "Thanks to my Corrie family for having me be a small part of our very special show. Always grateful for the memories, and looking forward to making more! #coronationstreet #25."

CORONATION Street's Samia Longchambon has landed a big-money deal away from the soap. The veteran cobbles star, 42, will earn a pretty penny fronting adverts for Omaze, which offers entrants the chance to win luxury homes. 3 3 The lucrative deal typically pays between £6,000 and £8,000 a day. Samia isn't the first Corrie star to work with the brand. Daniel Brocklebank and Tina O'Brien have also cashed in, though the actors needed special permission to do so. A source said: 'It'll leave the rest of the cast fuming as they have to ask special permission to do these money-spinning jobs outside the soap and this is the second one she's got." The Sun has contacted ITV for comment. Samia and her pro ice skating husband Sylvain also partnered with M&S on Instagram earlier this year. The filmed a reel plugging the cafe's seasonal menu. While her co-star Sair Khan, 37, was allowed to upload a glossy video of a posh, £2,500 Italian oven from Bertazzoni. We revealed there was pushback at the time from some of the show's stars affected by ITV budget cuts, who claimed to have had similar work offers blocked. According to internal documents, outside work must be pre-approved, must not conflict with ITV's commercial partners or damage an actor's character's integrity. We revealed in April how bosses are reducing filming schedules, putting actors on part-time contracts and reworking scenes to stretch airtime to cut costs and raise revenue. A Coronation Street spokeswoman said at the time: 'We do not discuss individual cases, but the cast are aware that all requests for commercial deals go through an approvals process and are dealt with on a case by case basis.'

Coronation Street character Gary Windass will be seen in a coma fighting for his life in a storyline that will solve the mystery of his disappearance. During Friday's episode of the ITV soap viewers will see Gary lying unconscious in a hospital bed, with his friends and family unaware of what has happened. Advertisement The character, played by Mikey North, left town, supposedly to stay with his mother Anna Windass (Debbie Rush) amid a blackmail attempt by Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty). As time went on Gary's wife, Maria Connor, played by Samia Longchambon, became increasingly worried and began searching for him. Longchambon, 42, said: 'Maria and Gary are going through a bit of a rough patch at the minute and initially she's upset that he's left but doesn't think too much into it. 'As soon as Gary misses Liam's birthday, she has a gut feeling that something isn't right and fears something awful might have happened to him. 'Maria's mind is spiralling, but she doesn't stop for a second to think who actually attacked Gary, she's aware he has a lot of enemies from over the years who could have potentially wanted to take revenge on him.'
