For the second year in-a-row Blackrock Badminton Club's Ladies 7 made it through to the Louth League Final. Unfortunately though, the side lost out to Axis Badminton Club from Balbriggan. There was no luck either for the club's Men's 6 who also lost their final.
Blackrock Badminton Club is on the lookout for new members. You will find them every Monday through June in Blackrock Community Centre 8pm-10pm. Why not pop along and give badminton a go.

Special night for Louth volunteers who support Special Olympics athletes

Dundalk After Dark The Argus Today at 01:00 On Thursday evening we headed for Byrne's Bar in Hill Street where a night of recognition was taking place for the volunteers who help out with the Special Olympics athletes to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sport for children and adults with a learning disability and a good crowd had turned out specially for the occasion. I wasn't too long there when I met up with Caroline and David O'Hare from Kingswood who were in great form. David was fresh from the recent win of the Dundalk FC Futsal in a national competition and Caroline said it was a certificate presentation evening in appreciation of all the hard work put in down through the years. She went on to say, apart from the athletics, most of the other sports are finished for the season and this was a thank you night for everyone who helped out.

All-Ireland U20 Football Championship semi-final Louth v Mayo The Argus Just over a week after Fergal Reel's Louth U20s captured the Seamus Flood Cup for the first time in 44 years, we're sitting in a meeting room at the Louth GAA Centre of Excellence in Darver. Outside training had begun. There was some confusion over the time of the interview – neither of us was to blame for that. So there was a small delay while the Silverbridge man made sure everything was in place for the session. New gear was given out, players were ready to start.
