Shots fired into front door of Whitby home: Durham police
Durham police are searching for a suspect after multiple shots were fired at a home in Whitby on Monday.
Police say officers were called to a home in the area of Maria and Annes streets, near Dundas Street West, just after 7 a.m., after the homeowners found bullet holes in their front door.
The residents were home at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured.
Police say officers found a number of shell casings on the scene, but no suspect description for the shooter was provided.
Investigators are asking anyone with information or video or dashcam footage from the area of Gilbert Street West and Newman Crescent, and Annes to Frances streets, between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m., to contact them at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1847, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Woman charged with robbery at Enfield, N.S., gas station
A 39-year-old woman has been charged in connection with an alleged robbery at an Enfield, N.S., gas station and convenience store last week. Officers responded to the reported robbery on Highway 2 around 11:39 a.m. on Aug. 8, according to an RCMP news release. Police learned the woman was allegedly taking items from the store and putting them in her bag. 'When staff noticed what she was doing, the woman threatened to stab the employees while showing a knife. The woman then exited the store and fled in a vehicle,' reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP. There were no reported injuries. Police identified a suspect and arrested Samantha May MacDonald from Indian Brook. She was charged with robbery and failure to comply with a probation order. (File) A report of erratic driving on Highway 17 last week ended with impaired charges for a suspect from southern Ontario. Police received the report around 3 a.m. Aug. 7 related to a vehicle headed east on the highway just west of Blind River. 'The white car was all over the road, turning on the headlights off and on and driving into oncoming traffic,' Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release. 'A short time later, police observed the white car travelling eastbound on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River and initiated a traffic stop.' Police spoke to the driver, who, they said, was obviously impaired 'by an intoxicating substance.' The driver was then arrested and taken to the OPP's Blind River detachment for further testing. The 21-year-old from Brantford was charged with driving while impaired by drugs and dangerous driving. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Sept. 4. Their driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The OPP encourages the public to report motorists suspected of driving impaired by calling 911 or contacting the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
