UNRWA: Gaza facing deliberate famine

New York – Saba: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Sunday that the Gaza Strip is facing a manufactured famine as a result of deliberate attempts to replace the UN-run humanitarian system with a politicized one known as the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation." UNRWA spokesperson Juliette Touma confirmed in a tweet published by the UN agency's account on the X platform, monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that "collective humanity is on the verge of being lost," noting that the so-called "new Israeli-American system" for distributing aid is bringing more chaos, dehumanization, and death. UNRWA stressed the need to return to a unified system for coordinating and distributing humanitarian aid under the leadership of the United Nations, in accordance with international humanitarian law, asserting that "this crime must end." Far from the oversight of the United Nations and international relief organizations, the Israeli enemy began implementing an aid distribution plan on May 27 through the so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation," an organization supported by Israel and the United States but rejected by the United Nations. This plan has resulted in the deaths of nearly 2,000 Palestinian aid seekers. Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the number of those killed in the struggle for a living, waiting for aid, had risen to 1,938, with more than 14,420 injured.

Last week, the Russian Federal Security Service reported that, through joint efforts with the Russian Armed Forces, Ukraine's plans to produce the Sapsan operational-tactical ballistic missile systems for strikes deep inside Russia were thwarted. The Russian Federal Security Service added that Ukraine was planning to use missiles to launch strikes deep inside Russia, explaining that "Ukraine secretly developed its own missile program using technology and stockpiles left over from the Soviet Union." The statement added: "Units of the Russian Northern Group continued their advance deep inside the enemy's defenses, targeting personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in several areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The enemy's losses amounted to approximately 180 servicemen, combat vehicles, and several field guns. An electronic warfare station and four ammunition and material depots were destroyed." The Russian Defense Ministry added: "Units of the Russian Center Group continued their advance deep inside the enemy's defenses, targeting personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in several areas of the Donetsk People's Republic. The enemy's losses amounted to approximately 420 servicemen, combat vehicles, several field guns, and an Israeli-made radar station." The Russian Defense Ministry indicated in its statement that "Units of the Northern Group's forces... The Russian "West" group improved its positions and advanced deep into the enemy's defenses, targeting Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and equipment in several areas of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic. The enemy suffered approximately 220 servicemen, combat vehicles, and several field artillery pieces. Three electronic warfare stations and three ammunition and material depots were destroyed. The Russian Ministry of Defense added that units of the "East" group of forces continued their advance deep into the enemy's defenses, targeting Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and equipment in the Zaporizhzhia region and the Dnipropetrovsk region.
