McDonald's launches controversial McFlurry inspired by childhood favourite - we tried it, here's our verdict

Cosmopolitan3 days ago
McDonald's has just launched a brand new menu and as part of this new release, they're also dropping a brand new McFlurry flavour. It's sweet, crunchy and inspired by one of our childhood favourite treats - it's the Jaffa Cakes McFlurry.
Long the subject of heated debate. Is it a cake? Is it a biscuit? Who knows. Either way, it's the new McFlurry flavour out today and we grabbed one of the first ones to try it out for ourselves.
It features the brand's signature soft vanilla ice cream and is swirled with chocolate shortcake pieces and topped with an orange sauce.
So how does it taste? Well it's an immediate hit of that signature Jaffa Cakes orange flavour, super orangey and packs a punch.
The chocolate pieces are super crunchy which adds a nice bit of texture to the dessert and in all honesty, it really tastes like the McFlurry version of the beloved childhood after school treat.
Also new to the menu today is a fun drinks addition. If you fancy switching up your drink order then you can now add different flavour syrups to your Sprite Zero.
There's the Green Apple and also the Mango & Passionfruit flavours which will add some serious flavour to your drinks.
And returning to the menu once again for a limited run are the Spicy McNuggets, Fajita Chicken wrap, the Chilli Cheese Bites and the Milky Way McFlurry.
The full menu is now available in all McDonald's restaurants. Race you there!

TWISTERS Director Lee Isaac Chung in Talks to Helm OCEAN'S Prequel Film — GeekTyrant

After making waves with Minari and the big-screen spectacle of Twisters , the Oscar-nominated director Lee Isaac Chung, is now in talks to direct the upcoming Ocean's prequel for Warner Bros. The new film is being produced by Margot Robbie's LuckyChap banner, which previously brought us Barbie . While the full cast hasn't been locked in yet, it was reported a couple of years ago that Robbie would reunite with her Barbie co-star Ryan Gosling for this high-stakes caper. The script, written by Carrie Solomon ( A Family Affair ), is based on characters created by George Clayton Johnson and Jack Golden Russell. Plot details are under wraps, but it will be set in in the 1960s, and if history is any indicator, expect clever schemes, stylish misdirection, and a crew of charismatic crooks pulling off something wildly ambitious. The Ocean's franchise has long been a box office powerhouse. The original trilogy starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts helped redefine the modern heist film, while the spin-off Ocean's 8 brought Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, and Anne Hathaway into the mix. Collectively, the films have pulled in over $1.4 billion worldwide. Clooney himself once hinted at revisiting the character of Danny Ocean, joking to the New York Times that, 'It's like we're all too old to do the jobs we used to be able to do.' Chung brings an artistic depth to the table. He earned Oscar nods for directing and writing Minari and has also made his mark on projects like Munyurangabo , which debuted at Cannes, and episodes of The Mandalorian and Skeleton Crew . He's also attached to direct Traveler , a sci-fi adaptation based on the novel by Joseph Eckert. If Chung signs on, this Ocean's prequel could blend stylish heist thrills with his sharp character work and storytelling chops. Stay tuned, this one's shaping up to be something very cool.

Catherine Zeta-Jones' heavy and sultry 'fox eye' makeup is a masterclass in gothic glam

Gen Z may be viralising the fox eye makeup trend with social media video tutorials galore, but one celebrity who paved the way for its newfound popularity? Catherine Zeta-Jones, who arguably coined the look in the early 90s. Trend-setter, much?! Earlier this week [30 July], Catherine attended the global premiere of Wednesday season 2 part 1, alongside a number of A-list co-stars; everyone from Joanna Lumley to Jenna Ortega was in attendance. Of course, individually, the actors looked incredible, but one thing that they cosigned was gothic, vampiric glam. I mean, hello Wednesday! Catherine's makeup look, however, was one that stood out for its sultry fox-eye feel. Would you just look at that purple-toned lip and smoky – yet very much lifed – eyeshadow? *Chef's kiss* The actor's look is reminiscent of "fox eye" makeup, a beauty trend that aims to create an elongated, lifted, and almond-shaped eye appearance – similar to the natural eye shape of a fox. It gives a more sultry, feline look, and celebrities, including Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, have both been at the forefront of it on social media. That said, Catherine has long been wearing eye makeup in an upward and outward style. Just look at her in her 'For All Time' music video, 1992. Simply stunning. Fox eyes aside, as mentioned, Catherine was one of many celebrities in attendance at the Wednesday premiere and to no surprise, they all went above and beyond in the gothic glam department.
