Describing the 11th International Yoga Day celebration as a grand success, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said the state has achieved two Guinness Book of World Records.

, Niadu said 3.03 lakh people gathered here to perform the ancient practice, creating a world record for most people performing Yoga in a signle location. However, the exact number of participants will be announced by the
Guinness World Records
authorities.
He also said that about 22,000 tribal students simultaneously performed 108 Surya namaskar in 108 minutes in one location, thus creating another record.
"The 11th International Yoga Day was a grand success. We have created a history. This is a super hit, he said.
Naidu further said the state government expected about two crore registrations from across the state to perform Yoga today. However, the number shot up to 2.45 crore.

VISAKHAPATNAM: The coastal city made history by setting a world record with a massive participation of 302,000 people performing yoga along the beach stretch, in the presence of India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on International Yoga Day, Saturday. The port city aimed for a turnout of 326,000 to establish a new Guinness World Record for the largest yoga gathering in one place, exceeding the previous record in Surat, Gujarat, by 147,000 participants. Notably, 22,122 tribal students from Alluri Sitarama Raju district had previously set a record for the largest synchronized performance of Suryanamaskar at a single location. The gathering on the beach stretch spanned about 28 kilometers from Kalimata Temple to Bheemili and began even before sunrise. Fortunately, the weather was kind, with not a single drop of rain falling in the morning. People of all ages participated, supported by a QR code tracking system that recorded 302,087 attendees. Meanwhile, Indian Navy personnel performed yoga on the decks of warships along the coast. All 326 designated areas were filled with enthusiastic participants who began arriving early in the morning. Over 10,000 vehicles transported people from various locations. Despite some traffic congestion at various junctions, the event proceeded peacefully and successfully, supported by more than 10,000 security personnel and an additional 6,000 government staff from various departments who worked diligently for the past month. While the state government anticipated a turnout of 20 million participants statewide, registrations reached 24.5 million. In total, 217 million people participated in various locations across Andhra Pradesh. Initially, the government planned to issue 2.5 million certificates to participants who underwent three days to one week of training. However, they later revised this estimate to identify 18 million eligible individuals for certificates. All 26 districts in the state organized different theme-based yoga events, and around 101 tourist destinations celebrated Yoga Day.

On the occasion of 'International Yoga Day', performed yoga with the residents in Ahmedabad', Amit Shah's 'X' post. Meanwhile, 2121 participants held the cobra pose for two minutes and nine seconds while performing yoga in Gujarat's Vadnagar on Saturday and achieved the Guinness World Record. According to Richard Stunning, official adjudicator at Guinness World Records, a record with a title for the most people performing the cobra pose in yoga began on Saturday. The minimum number of participants for the record was 250; they had to hold the Yoga Cobra pose for at least a minute. A total of 2184 participants breached the one-minute timeline; they ended up holding the cobra pose for two minutes and nine seconds. The Guinness World Records discounted 64 participants, after which 2121 participants held the cobra pose for two minutes and nine seconds to clinch the Guinness World Record. 'The Guinness World Records title that starts today is the most people performing the cobra pose in yoga, simultaneously. We set a guideline that everyone had to do it for at least a minute each, and we set a minimum target of 250 participants. Today, they did it for more than a minute, they did it for two minutes and nine seconds, and the total was 2185. We had to discount 64 participants. So the confirmed title is 2121 participants. Given we set a minimum of 250, this is smashing the Guinness World Record. Congratulations to everyone involved, and it's a fantastic achievement', Richard Stunning told ANI.
