Glen Powell goes undercover as quarterback Chad Powers in Hulu football comedy teaser

Express Tribune14-06-2025
Hulu has released the first teaser for its upcoming comedy series Chad Powers, starring Glen Powell as a disgraced college quarterback attempting a secret comeback. The series will premiere with its first two episodes on September 30.
In the teaser, which debuted during Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Powell plays Russ Holliday, a once-promising quarterback whose career collapses after a major blunder on the field. Facing public backlash and mockery on social media, Russ decides to reinvent himself by going undercover as 'Chad Powers,' complete with a wig and prosthetic nose, in an attempt to rejoin football anonymously.
'If I can't play as Russ, I'll play as someone else,' Powell's character declares in the clip. Despite his unusual appearance, the teaser shows Chad impressing teammates on the field while drawing humorous remarks off it — including a cheerleader who quips, 'He's, like, extremely ugly.'
The series also stars Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, and Steve Zahn. The pilot was co-written by Powell and Michael Waldron. Chad Powers is based on a comedic sketch from Eli's Places, produced by NFL Films and Omaha Productions for ESPN+.
Powell also serves as executive producer through his Barnstorm Productions, alongside Eli and Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, ESPN, and producers from Anomaly Pictures.

Hemsworth family steals the spotlight at dazzling 'Limitless' London premiere

The yellow carpet was rolled out in Leicester Square as Chris Hemsworth premiered his new documentary Limitless: Live Better Now at the Odeon Luxe. The event, held on July 17, brought out the entire Hemsworth family in a rare public gathering, making headlines not just for star power but the deeply personal story behind the film. Chris was joined by wife Elsa Pataky and their children, Tristan and Sasha, while younger brother Liam arrived with girlfriend Gabriella Brooks. Their parents, Craig and Leonie Hemsworth, also attended, showing united support for the emotional project. The Disney+ and Hulu-bound documentary follows Chris as he attempts extreme physical and mental challenges, like climbing a 600-foot frozen wall, enduring Special Forces pain training in South Korea, and even performing a surprise stadium drumming gig, all in pursuit of scientific insight into living longer, healthier lives. But beneath the adrenaline-fueled stunts lies a personal motivation. While filming the series, Chris discovered he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene, which significantly increases his risk of developing Alzheimer's. Although not a guaranteed diagnosis, the discovery cast a new light on the actor's mission for longevity and health, making the documentary more than just an entertainment venture. Joe Wicks and his wife Rosie were also spotted at the premiere, adding to the star-studded presence. Limitless: Live Better Now will be available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu starting August 15. The documentary's release is expected to spark important conversations around preventative health, family, and facing the future head-on, even for the god of thunder himself.
