Last Updated:
Aamir Khan urges audiences to avoid pirated versions of his film Sitaare Zameen Par, highlighting the harm piracy causes.
Actor and producer Aamir Khan has appealed to audiences to avoid watching pirated versions of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par. In an exclusive interaction with News18 Showsha, the superstar opened up about the harsh reality of piracy and how it undermines the hard work of hundreds involved in the filmmaking process. Of late, many newly released films have been leaked online on pirated sites.
Calling it 'really sad," Aamir said, 'When you watch a pirated version of a film, you're unknowingly causing a lot of harm. Many people don't realise the impact." Drawing a powerful analogy, he asked, 'If you wouldn't steal a TV, then why is it okay to watch a pirated movie? It's the same thing."
The actor, who has spent the past three years working on Sitaare Zameen Par, emphasised the emotional investment of everyone on the team. 'The emotions and hard work of these 10 kids, Genelia, Prasanna, the writer, each head of department, and myself — all of it is in this film. We want people to watch it the right way, not through piracy," he said.
Aamir also confirmed that the team would be taking all possible steps to curb piracy. 'We'll be hiring agencies to help prevent and reduce illegal sharing of the film," he added.
Sitaare Zameen Par marks Aamir Khan's return to the big screen after a brief break. The film is set for a theatrical release on June 20, 2025.
Sitaare Zameen Par is a sports comedy drama film directed by R. S. Prasanna, and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit. A spiritual successor to Khan's 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, it stars Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. It is a remake of the Spanish film Champions.
Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar will make their Hindi cinema debut in Sitaare Zameen Par.

Aamir Khan Talks Age-Gap Casting With Genelia D'Souza In Sitaare Zameen Par: 'It Is Not A Barrier'
Last Updated: Aamir Khan talks about playing Genelia D'Souza's husband in Sitaare Zameen Par, despite their Jaane Tu… connection. 'That thought did cross my mind,' he says. In an unexpected casting move that has caught fans' attention, Aamir Khan will be seen playing the husband of Genelia D'Souza in the upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par. For many, the pairing may feel unusual — after all, it was Aamir himself who introduced Genelia to the Hindi film industry in 2008, casting her opposite his nephew Imran Khan in the beloved rom-com Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. Now, more than 15 years later, they're playing a married couple — a decision Aamir acknowledges with a smile. 'Ya, I know. That thought did come to me," he says in a recent interview with Indian Express. 'But that was a long time ago. And ab Imran bhi kaafi meri age ka ho gaya hai (laughs)." In Sitaare Zameen Par, a Hindi adaptation of the 2018 Spanish film Campeones, both Aamir and Genelia portray characters in their early 40s. While Aamir is now 60, he dismisses concerns about the age difference, crediting modern technology and audience openness for breaking cinematic taboos around age-gap casting. 'We have the advantage of VFX now," he explains. 'Earlier, if I had to play an 18-year-old, I had to rely on prosthetics — like Anil Kapoor did in Eeshwar (1989), when he played an 80-year-old. Today, you can look 80 or 40 or 20 on screen with seamless visual effects. So age is no longer a barrier for actors." Directed by R.S. Prasanna (Shubh Mangal Saavdhan), Sitaare Zameen Par marks Aamir's return to the big screen after multiple breaks from acting — first during the pandemic, and later after the commercial failure of Laal Singh Chaddha. But as he candidly shares, the right story pulls him back in. 'I have a compulsive streak," he says. 'If something enters my bloodstream, I can't stay away." Set for release in June 2025, Sitaare Zameen Par promises to be an emotional, coming-of-age drama with Aamir and Genelia at its heart — an onscreen pairing no one saw coming, but one that may just surprise us all. Meet actress who started her career at 17, faced rejection, fell in love with divorced man, now owns assets worth Rs 134 crore, she is...
In the glitz and glamour of Bollywood, not every actress becomes a superstar. It takes a lot of grit, determination, hard work, and resilience to establish a name in B-town. Today, we will talk about an actress whose career spanned over three decades, and in these 30 years, she transformed herself from a Bollywood newcomer to a beloved actress, fitness icon, entrepreneur, and television personality. Her fitness is her goal, and despite turning 50 years old, this actress looks as young as Alia Bhatt or Deepika Padukone. While you may think we are talking about Malaika Arora, Raveena Tandon, or Madhuri Dixit — let us tell you, it is none of them. The actress in discussion is Shilpa Shetty. From the flamboyant heroine of the 90s to today's fitness icon, Shilpa Shetty has ruled Bollywood in her own way. Shilpa started her career at the age of 17. However, her road to fame was not easy. In her initial days, she faced many roadblocks. However, she never gave up. Shilpa's debut came at 17 with the film Baazigar in 1993. This was right after her 10th standard. Initially, when she started, no producer or director wanted to work with her, and she had to go through massive rejections, as per a report by News18 Hindi. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Shilpa said that in the beginning, she wanted to work with her father. However, there was always hope in her mind that she wanted to do something big. Soon after entering a beauty pageant, things changed for her. She received the offer for her debut movie, and since then, she never looked back. In the interview, Shilpa said that at first, she had difficulty speaking Hindi, and it used to make her nervous — especially when she was in front of a camera. She said, 'After a few films, I reached a point where my career ended. I have tried many times, but I always lagged behind. It is not easy to celebrate one moment and ignore the next. I remember there were producers who used to remove me from their films without any reason.' However, fate changed, and Shilpa started doing some good films, and many of them turned out to be huge hits. These movies include Dhadkan, Rishtey, Phir Milenge, Life in a… Metro and more. On November 22, 2009, after a short courtship, Shilpa tied the knot with Raj Kundra. As per media reports, Kundra got divorced while he was in courtship with Shilpa. Now, the couple has been blessed with two kids — a son Viaan and a daughter Samisha. In terms of earnings, she competes with big superstars. She has luxurious properties including a sea-facing bungalow worth Rs 100 crore. She also owns a private jet. According to financial reports, Shilpa's total net worth is Rs 134 crore.
