New Delhi: In a major development, the Modi government has taken a major step to strengthen India's defense abilities. According to the reports, the Indian Navy's 26 Rafale-M jets and the Indian Air Force's (IAF) 36 Rafale jets will now be equipped with three indigenous missiles — Rudram-1, Astra Mk1, and the Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon (SAAW).
In this article, we will discuss the Rafale jets and its features. The Indian Navy bought 26 Rafale-M jets for whopping 7 billion euros (around Rs 60,000 crore). The Indian Air Force (IAF) already has 36 Rafale jets. These jets will now be equipped with Indian missiles, which will double the strength of both the Navy and the IAF. Rudram-1: Rudram-1 is a missile designed to target enemy radar and communication systems.
Rudram-1 has been developed by DRDO.
Rudram-1 has a range of 150 kilometers and a 200-kilogram warhead
It can destroy enemy radars from a distance.
It is specifically designed for 'Suppression of Enemy Air Defense' (SEAD) missions. Astra Mk1: Astra Mk1 is a beyond-visual-range (BVR) missile with a range of 110 kilometers.
Astra Mk1 was developed at a cost of just Rs 10 crore, making it cheaper than the American AIM-120 AMRAAM, which has a range of 105–120 kilometers.
India has built a deadly missile at a lower cost.
This missile can target enemy aircraft from a long distance. It can be mounted on jets like the Su-30MKI and Tejas. SAAW SAAW, or Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon, is designed to destroy enemy airfields.
It has a range of 100 kilometers and is precision-guided, meaning it hits targets with pinpoint accuracy. Dassault Aviation's Stance Dassault Aviation, the maker of Rafale jets, was initially unwilling to share the source code.
But India firmly insisted on integrating these missiles with Rafales to reduce dependency on foreign weaponry.
Now, Rafale jets equipped with Rudram-1, Astra Mk1, and SAAW will further strengthen India's defense. This will not only enhance our air power but also free us from relying on foreign arms. In the near future, these missiles will leave our enemies shocked and rattled.

CPI-M delegation visits Uri to support shelling-affected residents; slams govt for inadequate compensation, neglect

Uri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 11 (ANI): A delegation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), including the party's General Secretary MA Baby, visited Uri in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district to meet people affected by shelling by Pakistan. CPI-M General Secretary MA Baby expressed reservations over the compensation amount of Rs 1.3 lakh given to the affected residents. 'The situation here is highly distressing, as you would have seen with the drone and shelling attacks. The government has only given Rs 1.3 lakh as compensation, which these days cannot even buy a proper door and window. This is highly deplorable, and we strongly disagree with the government's attitude. The democratic process has been destroyed here. Omar Abdullah is the Chief Minister; this is a Union Territory, and Modi and Amit Shah are controlling everything. We heard that the review meeting conducted with the Lieutenant Governor excluded the Chief Minister,' he said. He further addressed the plight of the people affected by shelling, saying, 'An eight-member family has been given a small room--this attitude of the government needs to change. We, MPs from West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and other corners of the state, came here to raise the plight of people in border areas. We demanded a special session to discuss it, but the Prime Minister refused. He didn't even attend the all-party meeting, only giving lectures here and there.' One of the delegates, CPI-M leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami, said, 'The people living in border villages should have access to bunkers for their safety. We have come here to express solidarity and tell them we stand with them. We assure them that we will be their voice in Parliament.' The visit followed shelling by Pakistan in the civilian areas of Jammu and Kashmir post Operation Sindoor, which was conducted on May 7. The operation was conducted in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, including a Nepalese national. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 and struck nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir in response to a ghastly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. After the attack, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir as well as attempted drone attacks along the border regions, following which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centres, and airfields across 11 airbases in Pakistan. After this, on May 10, an understanding regarding the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was announced. (ANI)

UP Congress chief hits out at PM Modi on 11 years of governance, says

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 11 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Congress President, Ajay Rai, on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that while the party looks forward to development in 2047, they should focus on today instead. 'They (BJP) talk about 2047, but you (BJP) have to talk about today. Today, people do not have jobs, and all businesses have closed down,' the UP Congress president told ANI. He also criticised the Prime Minister for various scams, particularly highlighting the scams in temple's prasad, claiming that adulterated prasad has come from Gujarat, the state where Modi was Chief Minister. 'Gujarat's company works in Ayodhya, too. There has been a scam in prasads too. Prasads are also coming from Gujarat.' Rai also said that people of Varanasi should be getting jobs too, as they have voted for PM Modi. Earlier on Tuesday, UP deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said that India has seen transformative growth in sectors like infrastructure, space, and medical sciences, and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for lifting 25 crore people out of poverty while advancing the vision of 'Integral Humanism' for a developed nation. Speaking to ANI, Pathak said, 'Over the past decade, India has witnessed a transformative shift across various sectors -- from infrastructure development to advancements in space and medical sciences. Nearly 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty. To commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 11 years in office, the Narendra Modi App or NaMo App has launched the 'Jan Man Survey.' The survey quickly gained significant traction, with over 5 lakh responses from citizens across India in a single day. This unique survey is designed to engage people actively in the democratic process, empowering them to express their opinions on key national issues and government initiatives. Announced by Prime Minister Modi through X, the Jan Man Survey allows people to share their feedback and opinions with the government directly. (ANI)
