UPSC Prelims 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE) Result 2025 today, i.e. 11th June, 2025. All the candidates who have appeared for the examination and are eagerly waiting for their results can now check their result through the official website, i.e. upsc.gov.in.
The UPSC releases the CSE Prelims results within 15 days of the examination. The examination took place on 25th May, 2025, Sunday in two separate shifts, each shift of two hours. This prelims exam is a preliminary round and candidates who will clear this exam will be eligible to appear for the Mains examination and candidates who will clear the mains exam, they will appear for the personal interview round, which is the last round.

All the candidates whi have cleared the Prelims will now be eligible for the Mains exam. "Submission of fee of Rs.200 for admission into the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2025 except in the case of fee exempt candidates viz. the female/PwBD/SC/ST candidate", said the official notice. "The Window for filling up these details and its submission will be available on the Commission's website from 16th to 25th June, 2025", it added.

NGO rejuvenates Masaorambu stream near Coimbatore
COIMBATORE: As part of the efforts to restore the ecological and hydrological health of the Noyyal river system and ensure water security, Siruthuli, an NGO, has inaugurated the rejuvenated Masaorambu stream at Madhvarayapuram on the outskirts of Coimbatore. The Masaorambu is one of the 34 perennial feeder streams of the Noyyal river, carrying freshwater from the Western Ghats. Over the years, the stream's flow was impeded by dense vegetation and sedimentation. Vanitha Mohan, managing trustee of Siruthuli, said through a comprehensive restoration effort, 5.7 km of the stream was cleared, desilted and widened to restore its natural flow. Seven check dams were refurbished in Phase 1, creating 10 crore litres of additional water storage capacity. She said this would revive more than 300 acres of previously fallow land, generating an incremental income of Rs 12.5 lakh through renewed cultivation. 'More than 100 farmers in the region are expected to save more than Rs 75 lakh collectively, averaging Rs 75,000 per farmer, by reducing dependency on external water sources. Titan Company Limited is the CSR sponsor of this impactful initiative," she said. Phase 2 will include construction of three new check dams, further augmenting water security and storage. 'The restoration ensures steady freshwater flow and active groundwater recharge, directly benefiting 3,700 acres of farmland across nine villages. ‘Difficult day for all of us at Air India,' says CEO Campbell Wilson, Tata group announces Rs 1 crore for victims' families
Following the tragic crash of an Air India aircraft shortly after take-off in Ahmedabad, the Tata group airline's CEO Campbell Wilson expressed 'deep sorrow', saying that it was a difficult day for everyone at Air India. In his first statement since the Tuesday afternoon crash, Wilson said that the carrier's teams are working around the clock to support the passengers, crew, and their families as well as investigators, apart from working closely with authorities at the accident site to assist in emergency response efforts. He also said that while investigations will take time, the airline is doing everything it can to support those affected. Meanwhile, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran announced that the Tata group will provide Rs 1 crore to the families of those who perished in the crash, and will cover all medical expenses of the injured. An Air India aircraft with 242 people—230 passengers and 12 crew—on board crashed into a residential area near the Ahmedabad airport Tuesday afternoon, resulting in numerous casualties. The exact number of dead and injured is not clear yet. The 11-year-old Boeing 787 aircraft—bearing registration VT-ANB—was operating flight AI-171 between Ahmedabad and London Gatwick airport. This is the first wide-body crash for an Indian airline in four decades. It is also the first crash of a Boeing 787 globally. According to flight tracking data, the signal from the aircraft was lost at an altitude of just 625 feet, moments after take-off. It then descended with a vertical speed of 475 feet per minute and crashed. According to aviation safety regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the pilots gave a Mayday call to the Ahmedabad airport air traffic control (ATC) upon take-off, after which it crashed outside the airport perimeter. 'We are actively working with the authorities on all emergency response efforts. A special team of caregivers from Air India is on their way to Ahmedabad to provide additional support. Investigations will take time, but anything we can do now we are doing. We know that many people are concerned for the welfare of their loved ones. Tata Group will provide ₹1 crore to the families of each person who has lost their life in this tragedy.
