Mint3 days ago
Mumbai, Aug 13 (PTI) Ahead of its release, 'War 2' stars Hrithik Roshan and N.T. Rama Rao Jr urged media, audiences and fans to avoid revealing spoilers to preserve the film's viewing experience.
"'War 2' has been made with a lot of love, a lot of time and a lot of passion.' Roshan said in a press release.
"The best way to experience this cinematic spectacle is in the theatres as the constant twists and turns of this dramatic story unfold in front of your eyes," the 51-year-old added.
He requested the audience and media to keep the film's plot under wraps after watching the film in order to let it remain a suprise for its audience.
NTR Jr echoed his co-star's request, saying, "When someone comes to the theatres to watch War 2, they should feel the same amount of joy, thrill and entertainment as you have felt watching War 2 for the first time."
"Spoilers are no fun and it hugely impacts the film watching experience. Please give us a lot of love and let the story of War 2 be a secret to everyone.. we are counting on you," he added.
In this sequel to the 2019 film "War", Roshan will reprise his role as Kabir, a RAW agent. In "War 2", rogue agent Kabir will battle elite operative Vikram, played by NTR Jr in a global chase.

War 2 (Hindi) Day 3 Box Office: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer drops big; Adds Rs 26 crore net on first Saturday

War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, and starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani, added Rs 26 crore on its first Saturday at the India box office for the Hindi version. If anyone would have said that War 2, on its first Saturday, would end up with identical collections as Fighter on its first Saturday, they would be laughed at. But the unexpected as happened, like it always happens in the movie industry. With a weekend trajectory that's not even as good as Fighter, War 2 is on its way to sealing a poor fate. War 2 Adds Rs 26 Crore On Day 3 In India For The Hindi Version; Packs Rs 99 Crore Net In 3 Days War 2 opened to collections of Rs 28 crore net. It grew by 55 percent on day 2 (Independence Day), to collect Rs 45 crore net. With Saturday collections coming under its non-holiday opening day collections, War 2 is headed for a sorry fate. The movie's collections stand at Rs 99 crore after 3 days and the Sunday collections may just come under Saturday's, now. Even if we assume that the Sunday collections will be identical to Saturday's, the movie will stand at Rs 125 crore after the extended weekend. To reach Rs 200 crore net is going to be an uphill task if the movie fails to do Rs 8 crore net on Monday. The Day Wise Hindi Net India Collections Of War 2 Are As Under War 2's Dubbed Versions Disappoint Too War 2's contributions from the dubbed versions aren't any good, either. The dubbed (Tamil plus Telugu) collections of War 2 are slightly under Rs 40 crore net. By the end of the weekend, it may just be Rs 45 crore net or so, giving the movie an extended net weekend of Rs 167-170 crore (Rs 200 crore gross). The overseas collections of the Ayan Mukerji directorial will be around USD 6.75-7 million (Rs 58.50 - 61 crore gross) after the extended weekend, meaning that the movie will be sitting at Rs 260 crore or so after 4 days. Unless the movie manages some sort of consolidation over the weekdays, it is ending its run in the range of Rs 350 - 375 crore gross worldwide.

War 2 Day 3 India Box Office: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani's movie starts showing worrying signs; Grosses Rs 38 crore

War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, and starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani dropped on day 3 at the India box office. The film was coming off a National holiday and the drop was on the cards, but it should have been holding better. The movie grossed only Rs 38 crore on day 3 when it should have been doing around Rs 50 crore, to be in contention for a favourable verdict. War 2 Adds Rs 38 Crore Gross On Day 3 In India; Starts Showing Worrying Signs The Hindi version of War 2 is doing the heavy-lifting, with Rs 26 crore net (Rs 31.50 crore gross). These, in no way, classify as good numbers. Based on the falling trend, these numbers are actually underwhelming. The Telugu version of the movie is on a freefall, with the day 3 gross expected to be around Rs 7 crore. It is over 70 percent down from the opening day. The majority of the Telugu audience has not resonated with films from the Spy Universe, and the case with War 2 is no different. The Tamil version of the movie has negligible contributions of around Rs 15-20 lakh. The final collections from this version shall be under Rs 1.50 crore. The Day Wise India Gross Collections Of War 2 Are As Under War 2 Will Barely Do Rs 200 Crore India Gross Over Its Extended Opening Weekend The 3 day gross of War 2 in India stands at Rs 164 crore, and by the end of the extended weekend, it should barely touch Rs 200 crore. Rs 200 crore India gross should have been breached in two or a maximum of three days given the star power, scale and potential but that has sadly, not happened. Coolie, which held comparitively lesser appeal, has put up higher collections. With the way the movie is doing, it should be curtains for the movie in the weekdays. If the film manages to somehow sustain over the weekdays, even then, it will never be able to do the numbers that help it classify as a success. War 2 In Theatres

Will fully cooperate for release of The Devil: Actor Darshan

Agency: PTI Bengaluru, Aug 16 (PTI) Kannada actor Darshan on Saturday said he would 'fully cooperate" for the release of his film 'The Devil'. He also expressed confidence that his 'celebrities" — as he calls his fans — will also stand by his decision. The message was conveyed through his wife Vijayalakshmi's Instagram account. Directed by Prakash Veer, the first song of the film was supposed to have been released on August 15. But with the Supreme Court cancelling his bail, Darshan was taken into custody a day before, on August 14. Following which, the plans for the film were reportedly put on hold. However, Darshan said his first duty is to support the directors who believed in him and the producers who have invested crores of money in him. 'So, I hope that all the work of my film 'The Devil' will proceed without any hindrance. I hereby inform you that you (makers of the film) have my full cooperation. And I firmly believe that my celebrities (fans) will consent to this," Darshan is quoted as saying in his wife's Instagram post. Darshan had wrapped up the film in July. The reshooting of the film started in February after the actor was released on regular bail. 'Cinema is an entertainment medium and should be viewed only from the perspective of entertainment," the actor said further through his wife's post. Darshan was arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan was granted interim bail on medical grounds after he claimed back pain. He was then granted regular bail by the Karnataka High Court in mid-December. PTI JR ROH view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
