‘My Lovely Journey' Wonders What's Next For An Ex K-Pop Trainee
Yeo-reum, played by Gong Seung-yeon (Karma, Are You Human, Flower Crew Joseon Marriage Agency), is one of the year's most likable k-drama heroines. She works hard, remains optimistic and cheerful, but life keeps piling on the failures, including a failed relationship with a boyfriend who didn't deserve her.
Her agent Oh Sang-sik, played by Yu Jun-sang (The Uncanny Counter 2, Alchemy of Souls, The Penthouse) is down to his last two clients and with the cancellation of her show, it seems the end of her career might lead to the end of his agency. Her sense of delight in the surrounding world is an untapped talent.
When things start to get desperate, she's offered a fee to take a mystery trip and film the location. The concept is a little weird, but, out of options, she eventually agrees. For the first time in her life, she must make all the arrangements and call the shots. It's an emotional journey of self discovery.
The drama explores what happens when the k-pop dream isn't realized . An ex-trainee might be unprepared to deal with practicalities once they are no longer micro managed by an agency. In that way it's a coming of age story even though Yeo-reum is old enough to take care of herself. She's sure that her trip means the end of her career but it might be a new beginning.
Lee Yeon-seok, played by Kim Jae-young (Love In Contract, Reflection of You, Judge From Hell) is a TV editor connected with her show. Or he was until he spoke up to defend her. He's been watching her from afar and he knows how she's suffered. As a stymied film director he needs to change his life too.
The drama is based on the 2021 novel Oka no Ue no Kenjin Tabya Okeri by Maha Harada. It's directed by Kang Sol and was adapted for the screen by Jang Hwee-hyun.
My Lovely Journey airs on Viki.com in the U.S.

Jennifer Lopez Suffers Super Creepy 'Wardrobe Malfunction' on Stage (& Handles It Like a Pro)
Jennifer Lopez has been performing for nearly three decades, which makes her the ultimate professional in any situation…including when a creepy, crawly bug jumps onto you mid-performance. The footage, which was first reported on by People, shows the 56-year-old 'Get Right' singer performing a set in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Aug. 10, as part of her Up All Night: Live in 2025 tour. While busting out her biggest hits, an icky cricket crawled up her black cut-out top, making its way from her legs up to her neck (a true nightmare, by the way). Lopez, however, wasn't phased, as she grabbed the cricket and tossed it to the side of the stage without missing a beat. Afterwards, she told the crowd, "It was tickling me," laughing in the process. The singer's official fan account posted the video once Lopez's concert ended with the caption, 'Plot twist: @JLo just started rehearsals for Kiss of the Cricket Woman… on stage… in real time.' In the video, you can see the singer starting to serenade the crowd as the creepy crawly climbs up to her neck. Her fans were in awe at how calm she remained throughout the ordeal. 'You are such a professional, Jen, but I almost screamed when I saw it was going to your neck!' wrote one of those fans. 'I would have fainted at that moment………YOU'RE A MOTHER, JENNIFER!' added another. And my personal favorite, 'That's a lucky cricket.' Ethan Miller/Staff/Getty Images The 'Kiss of the Cricket Woman' reference is, of course, a nod to Lopez's upcoming adaptation of Argentinian Manuel Puig's 1976 novel of the same title, which is a musical that tells the story Valentín (Diego Luna), a political prisoner, who shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser convicted of public indecency. The two form an unlikely bond as Molina recounts the plot of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite silver screen diva, Ingrid Luna (Jennifer Lopez). The film is set to be released on October 10. Here's hoping that Lopez doesn't encounter any more critters on stage until then! Want all the latest entertainment news sent right to your inbox? Click here. Noah Centineo in Talks to Lead JOHN RAMBO Origins Film For Millennium Media — GeekTyrant
It looks like Millennium Media has found its young Rambo. Sources tell Deadline that Noah Centineo is lined up to star in John Rambo , an origins story exploring the early years of one of cinema's most iconic action heroes. Sisu director Jalmari Helander is on board to direct, working from a screenplay by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. While the deal isn't fully locked, insiders say things are moving in the right direction with plans to shoot this fall in Thailand. Lionsgate is reportedly the frontrunner to distribute, having released the last two Rambo installments and worked with Helander on Sisu . Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film will follow a young John Rambo during the Vietnam War, before the events of David Morrell's novel First Blood . The 1982 film adaptation introduced audiences to Sylvester Stallone's Green Beret veteran, hunted through the mountains by a ruthless sheriff and his deputies, sparking a one-man war. Across five films, the franchise has pulled in more than $800 million worldwide, with 2019's Rambo: Last Blood earning $92 million at the box office. When the prequel project was first reported, Stallone was said to be aware but not involved, and that's apparently still the case. Sources now say the actor has been made aware of Centineo's potential casting. The film will be produced by Kevin King-Templeton, Les Weldon, Jonathan Yunger, and Avi Lerner, with executive producers Trevor Short, Dallas Sonnier, and Amanda Presmyk. Centineo has been building an impressive resume since breaking out in Netflix's To All the Boys I Loved Before and The Recruit . He's set to play Ken Masters in Legendary's upcoming live-action Street Fighter , starring opposite Jason Momoa and Andrew Koji, directed by Kitao Sakurai for a 2026 release. Recently, he starred in A24's Warfare from Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland, and in Oscar Boyson's Our Hero, Balthazar , which premiered at Tribeca and was produced under Centineo's Arkhum banner. If things go as planned, John Rambo could be the role that catapults Centineo to full-blown action star status.

‘Takopi's Original Sin' Sets An Audience Score Record On IMDB
If you're looking for a new anime to watch, you should be alerted to a one that has suddenly set a full-on record on IMDB. That would be Takopi's Original Sin. Takopi's Original Sin currently has a 9.1/10 overall on IMDB, but past that, it has set a record as the only anime to have all of its episodes (six so far) to have over a 9.0 rating. We have: As you can see, if you average all those figures, that actually is more than a 9.1/10 that the show has gotten overall. Based on these episodes, the average is a 9.5/10, in fact. Over on Rotten Tomatoes there are…not critic or audience scores in to give out any figures. But IMDB has thousands in for each episode. So, is this true? You can look up some of the other most popular animes ever, and ones like Attack on Titan or Demon Slayer or the more recent Solo Leveling all have at least some episodes in any given season below a 9.0. What's Takopi's Original Sin all about? Here's the synopsis: As you may expect, this was originally based on a Japanese web manga series before being turned into an anime, and it has aired from June to August of this year. With the last episode now out, that's how we manage to get these scores. It's true that individually, a show like Attack on Titan has some of the highest scored episodes in IMDB history, anime or not, but so far, Takopi doesn't even have anything close to being below a 9.0 in its first season here. Perhaps that would change with a second season, but that wouldn't' be for a while yet. You can currently watch season 1 on Crunchyroll where, you guessed it, it has sky-high user scores, a 4.9/5 with 35,000 reviews in already. So, with just six episodes, it certainly seems worth checking out what all the fuss is about. I'll be doing so in short order here.
