Maharashtra Gets India's Longest Vande Bharat Express, Pune To Nagpur In Just 12 Hours

Indian Railways has rolled out a brand-new Vande Bharat Express in Maharashtra, connecting Ajni (Nagpur) to Pune. Covering 881 kilometres, this is now the longest Vande Bharat route in the country, surpassing the New Delhi–Varanasi record. Not only is it the longest, but it is also the fastest train between Nagpur and Pune, clocking an impressive average speed of 73 kmph despite ten scheduled stops. What Makes This Route Special? For the first time, several regions between Wardha and Manmad will be connected by a Vande Bharat service. The train will halt at Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Shegaon, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, and Daund Chord Line. The train will feature 8 modern coaches—1 Executive Chair Car (52 seats) and 7 Chair Cars (totaling 478 seats), accommodating 530 passengers in all. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called the launch a 'matter of great joy" for the state. He said the service was introduced after a request to the Railway Minister, which was promptly acted upon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
