#SHOWBIZ: 3 'Blood Brothers' stars compete for Hottest Male in 'Anugerah Melodi Terhangat'

KUALA LUMPUR: The buzz around the box office hit, Blood Brothers: Bara Naga, which premiered in cinemas on April 10, is still palpable.
And for good reason, as its leading men are set to dominate the Hottest Male Celebrity category at this Sunday's Anugerah Melodi Terhangat 2025 (AMT).
Stars of the action film, Sharnaaz Ahmad, Syafiq Kyle, and Zamarul Hisham, have all secured spots in the Top 10 of the coveted category, as confirmed by organiser TV3 in a statement today.
TV3 remarked, "The achievements of these three 'hot' men prove that the influence of Blood Brothers: Bara Naga is still burning bright. After battling it out on screen, Sharnaaz, Syafiq, and Zamarul are now competing head-to-head at the AMT."
In Blood Brothers, Sharnaaz and Syafiq portray bodyguards embroiled in a crime lord's empire, while Zamarul plays a police officer determined to bring them down.
The actors are lauded for their distinct portrayals.
Sharnaaz is praised for his ability to play tough, principled heroes with soul and charisma.
Syafiq consistently challenges himself with more mature and complex roles.
Zamarul, with two decades of experience, excels in playing dedicated lawmen of integrity.
Sharnaaz, Syafiq, and Zamarul face stiff competition from other popular actors, including Fattah Amin, Datuk Remy Ishak, Datuk Adi Putra, Datuk Rosyam Nor, and Faizal Hussein.

#SHOWBIZ: Sophia Albarakbah: 'Even God forgives, why can't you?'

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Sophia Albarakbah has hit back at a social media user who left a critical comment on her Instagram, sparking a major conversation among netizens. In a bold reply, Sophia wrote: "It's been years. If you keep bringing it up (the controversy also involving Bella Astillah and her former husband Aliff Aziz), it will never end. Even God forgives His servants, so who are you, a mere human, to be so arrogant?" The heated exchange occurred after Sophia, 32, went viral for sharing the stage with Bella Astillah at the recent Anugerah Melodi Terhangat 2025 in Putrajaya. Sophia won the Selebriti Feminin Terhangat award, which was presented by Bella. Bella's visibly awkward expression during the presentation caught the public's attention, suggesting she was still affected by the incident. The Instagram user had commented that while Sophia has the looks and potential to succeed, she had made some "wrong choices". The user also advised her to "preserve her dignity" following her award win, which prompted Sophia's strong response.

#SHOWBIZ: Adira Suhaimi stands by Bella Astillah, avoids commenting on drama

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Adira Suhaimi is continuing to show her support for fellow artiste Bella Astillah following a recent incident at Anugerah Melodi Terhangat 2025 (AMT 2025). Adira, 33, considers Bella, 31, to be like a sister. She told Harian Metro that the two remain close and communicate regularly on WhatsApp. "I messaged her yesterday to offer my encouragement. If she's happy, I'm happy. If she's down, I feel it too. All I can do is pray for the best for her," Adira was quoted as saying. When asked about the incident at AMT 2025 involving Bella and actress Sophia Albarakbah, Adira chose not to comment. She said that she prefers to not get involved but always wishes Bella happiness. Adira also expressed her joy over Bella's rumoured relationship with Syed Saddiq, saying: "I just want to see her happy. I even smile when I watch her videos." Adira also shared her sympathy for singer Hafiz Suip, who recently went through a divorce. She hopes he stays strong and continues with his music career. "His voice is a gift. Not everyone has that talent. I hope he keeps going," she said. Adira, who famously collaborated with Hafiz on the hit song 'Ombak Rindu', said she would be open to working with him again if the opportunity arose. Meanwhile, Adira is scheduled to perform at Festival Tentang Cinta on Aug 9 at the Sabah International Convention Centre. She will be sharing the stage with Hael Husaini, Ara Johari, Marygrace, and Indonesian singers Andmesh and Ziva Magnolya. "This is more than just a show; it's like coming home. I want the audience to feel my sincerity on stage," said the artiste, who is originally from Ranau, Sabah.

#SHOWBIZ: Actress Siti Saleha takes a break to focus on pregnancy, family

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress Siti Saleha has announced she is taking a break from acting to focus on her family and her pregnancy. Now four months along, the actress will begin her hiatus after she finishes filming the drama series 'Bad Cop', directed by Jason Chong. "Filming can be exhausting. I want to take it easy until I give birth, and I'll return once I feel healthy and fit again. But it won't be for years," said the 35-year-old artiste during a press conference after winning the Selebriti Ikon Terhangat award at Anugerah Melodi Terhangat 2025 held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre last night. Siti Saleha also revealed that her first trimester went smoothly, with no morning sickness or cravings, though she did admit to feeling more lethargic than usual, which is a common experience for many pregnant women. The actress expressed her gratitude for the continuous support of her fans throughout her 15-year career. "This is a blessing for me, the baby, and my loyal fan club. I'm truly grateful," she said of her award win. Saleha recently announced her pregnancy in a video posted on Instagram, which was recorded during a holiday in Bali with her husband, Joshua Fitton. The couple married in a private ceremony in Janda Baik, Pahang, in February.
