Hamas: Zionist Starvation weapon in Gaza is systematic genocide
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stated on Wednesday that the use of starvation as a weapon is a full-fledged war crime and a systematic genocide committed by the Zionist enemy's army against the people of the Gaza Strip.
In a press statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Hamas confirmed that the Gaza Strip is facing a catastrophic famine due to a comprehensive and ongoing siege, marking the most dangerous stage of genocide for more than five months.
It said that this most dangerous stage includes the closure of border crossings and the prevention of baby formula, food, and medicine for over two million people, among them 40,000 infants at immediate risk of death, in addition to 60,000 pregnant women.
Hamas pointed out that the Zionist enemy has turned food into a weapon of slow death and aid into a tool of chaos and looting under the direct supervision of its army and aircraft.
It noted that the majority of aid trucks entering Gaza are being looted and attacked as part of a systematic policy followed by the Zionist enemy aimed at 'engineering chaos and starvation' to deprive civilians of the limited aid and obstruct its safe and organized distribution.
It added: 'While the Strip needs more than 600 aid and fuel trucks daily to meet the minimum needs, the actual amount allowed in represents only a tiny fraction.'
'The catastrophe has reached a point where Gaza's mothers are forced to feed their babies water instead of milk. So far, 154 Palestinians, including 89 children, have died of hunger, with hundreds of daily malnutrition cases amid the near-total collapse of the healthcare system,' it continued.
Hamas noted that despite increasing international condemnation, the Zionist enemy promotes staged air and land aid drops, most of which land in dangerous areas previously ordered evacuated by the enemy, rendering them useless and endangering civilians.
It added that in a repeated criminal pattern, the Zionist enemy targets aid security teams and opens corridors for looting gangs under its protection as part of a systematic plan to perpetuate famine as a weapon of war.
The movement called on international institutions to expose and legally and morally denounce the enemy's 'starvation engineering' policy, describing it as a deliberate and compound war crime no less dangerous than direct bombing and destruction.
Hamas stressed that breaking the siege and opening the crossings immediately and unconditionally is the only solution to end the catastrophe in Gaza, warning that any delay would lead to further genocide, particularly against vulnerable groups such as children, patients, and the elderly.
It also called on free peoples and human rights and humanitarian organizations around the world to intensify their actions and work to impose an independent and secure UN mechanism for the delivery and distribution of aid, away from the control and criminal policies of the occupation.

Prominent German Figures Call on Chancellor to Stop Deaths in Gaza
Berlin - Saba: More than 200 prominent figures in Germany called on Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Thursday evening to stop the deaths in the Gaza Strip. More than 200 prominent figures, including actors and musicians, published an open letter to Merz on the Avaaz platform titled "Don't Let Gaza Die," according to the Palestinian Safa News Agency. The letter highlighted "the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, from hunger, disease, bombing, and daily death." It noted that Merz had recently taken a position criticizing the Israeli government, but "it is clear that words alone do not save lives." On Tuesday, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stressed the need for Israel to act quickly to improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and provide humanitarian aid to the suffering citizens there. He stated that he has been dissatisfied for weeks with the Israeli government's practices in the Gaza Strip, including the establishment of a so-called "humanitarian city" in the city of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip. The letter called for "following words with action," halting arms exports to Israel, supporting the suspension of the EU-Israel partnership agreement, and insisting on an immediate ceasefire and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid. Slovenia summons Israeli ambassador to protest humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza
Ljubljana – Saba: The Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the accredited Israeli ambassador on Thursday to protest the severe humanitarian catastrophe resulting from restrictions on urgent aid delivery to the Gaza Strip. In a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Slovenian Foreign Ministry announced that it had summoned the newly appointed Israeli ambassador to Ljubljana, Ruth Cohen Dar, to the ministry. The ministry stated: "The Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken a diplomatic initiative by summoning the Israeli ambassador accredited to Slovenia to protest the severe humanitarian catastrophe caused by restrictions on the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza." Slovenia also called on Israel to immediately halt the killing and starvation of civilians. Palestinians in Gaza are facing an unprecedented wave of hunger since the Israeli occupation forces closed the strip's crossings in early March, imposing strict restrictions on the entry of food, relief supplies, fuel, and medicine. Over time, Gaza's residents have exhausted all food resources, leaving shops empty and making it nearly impossible to find a loaf of bread. Meanwhile, available goods have seen a dramatic surge in prices, turning "death by starvation" into one of the leading causes of death in the strip. With American and European support, the Israeli occupation army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 60,249 Palestinian civilians, most of them children and women, and injuring 147,089 others—figures that are not yet final, as thousands remain trapped under rubble or in streets inaccessible to rescue teams.
