Dionne Warwick to perform in East Sussex and Kent
One of the most successful female chart artists of the 20th Century is set to perform in both East Sussex and Kent.Six-time Grammy winner Dionne Warwick is taking her Don't Make Me Over UK tour to the Congress Theatre in Eastbourne on Tuesday and to the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury on 5 May. The American singer, whose hits include Walk on By, Do You Know The Way To San Jose and Heartbreaker, will be interviewed on stage as well as performing some of her most popular tunes.She said of her latest show: "It's basically all the answers to the questions everybody wants to know about me from the horse's mouth.
"Instead of gossip you're going to get the absolute truth about the people I've been honoured to meet and who have embraced me."
'Name-dropping'
Warwick has sold more than 100 million record worldwide and has had 55 hit singles in a 60-year career.A cousin of Whitney Houston, the singer, now 84, told the BBC she had had some very famous mentors - including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr and Ella Fitzgerald.She said: "These were people who took me into their arms and said 'we're going to make sure you do it the right way'."Every time I mention them I feel like I'm name-dropping."Warwick said she was planning to make a record soon with one of her favourite groups of all-time - Earth, Wind and Fire. She said: "I am slowing down. It's taking a bit more out of me, just the travelling."I'm nearing the time I'm going to be very selective with what I do."

Finally, Wynne claims he has been offered no support from the BBC with his mental health following his exit. He said: "I haven't heard from them since I got suspended, to me, I haven't heard from them, they've only spoken to my lawyers." They added: "Sam left us far too soon, and while words will never fully capture the light, joy and energy he brought into our lives, we hold on to the memories that made him so special."
