Man in court after car driven wrong way on M1 in West Yorkshire
A man has been remanded in custody ahead of sentencing after a car was allegedly driven the wrong way on the Malik, of Church Road, Altofts, pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and failing to provide a specimen when he appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Monday. The 34-year-old also indicated he would plead guilty to dangerous driving and possession of Class A drugs when he is sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on 11 was arrested on Friday following a police pursuit from Altofts to Stanley, back to Altofts and then the M62 and against the flow of traffic on the M1 northbound. The car, a blue Audi A4, came to a stop on the hard shoulder near the Sharp Lane bridge after suffering a puncture. (Guillaume Meurice/ The Guelph Police Service is reminding all drivers never to leave their keys unattended in their vehicle after an Audi A4 was stolen. Officers were called to a business on Clair Road East on Tuesday around 1:30 a.m. A Guelph man told police he and a friend had gone into the store to buy drinks and left the keys in the vehicle. When they came back outside, the Audi was gone. Police found the car just outside of Guelph, about two-and-a-half hours later, with damage to the windshield and driver's side.
