2026 5-star WR and LSU commit praises Texas A&M WR coach Holmon Wiggins
Texas A&M's third-ranked 2026 recruiting class features elite talent at nearly every position. After landing four-star tackles Avery Morcho and Zaden Krempin on Wednesday afternoon, coach Mike Elko and his staff are still in the running for several elite prospects in the cycle, which includes five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys, who is presently committed to LSU.
Highly regarded as one of the best athletes in the class due to his eltie route running skill set, downfield speed and 6-3 frame, Keys understads that despite his LSU commitment, his recent official visits to Texas A&M (June 5), Auburn (June 10), Tennessee (June 13) and Alabama (June 17) are all being taken into account before he potentially signs with the Tigers.
On Thursday, Keys, who was taking part in the annual OT7 Overtime event, sat down with the 247Sports recruiting staff to discuss his recent OVs, and what may be surprising to some, after the host asked what Keys likes the most about Texas A&M, the facilities, coach Mike Elko, and WR coach Holmon Wiggins led the way.
"Everything, man; It's a business school, they do a great job from business standpoint, a lot of connectons, networking, etc." Keys stated. "But the main part for me would be coach (Holmon) Wiggins, man. He's got a great resume, and is one of the best."
Wiggins' impact after one full offseason with Texas A&M included landing 2025 five-star WR Jerome Myles, and securing commitments from veteran receivers KC Concepcion and Mario Craver from the transfer portal. During his five-year coaching career at Alabama, Wiggins helped develop several first-round wide receivers, including DeVonta Smith, who won the Heisman Trophy after the 2020 season.
While Texas A&M has not had a 1,000-yard receiver since Josh Reynolds hauled in 1,039 yards and 12 touchdowns during the 2016 season, Wiggins has proven his worth as a recruiter/developer heading into his second season with the Aggies.
During his 2024 junior season, Tristen Keys recorded 58 receptions for 1,275 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, leading Hattiesburg High School to the MHSAA Class 6A title game.

Ravens' coach praises offseason improvement of former UNC star receiver
In one year at North Carolina, under Mack Brown, Devontez Walker totaled 41 receptions for 699 yards and seven touchdowns in eight games after fighting a transfer issue with the NCAA. Walker had this to say about that play: I think that touchdown meant a lot, especially to the staff. You know, drafting a guy you believe in and finally get out there and showcase it. I think it kind of turned heads a little bit. It was a real big deal for me." You know, I'm wondering what to do. I'm thinking so much, trying to do everything right, perfect everything. I wasn't able to go out there and run full speed. This year, I'm able to get lined up and go out there and play as fast as possible. I feel really confident. I know what we're trying to get done in this offense, and I'm able to go out there and play full speed." In his rookie season with the Ravens, Walker appeared in nine games. He ended up grabbing one of three targets for the previously mentioned 21-yard touchdown. Despite Baltimore still having Zay Flowers and Rashad Bateman and adding DeAndre Hopkins, Walker will still try to carve out a role where he can shine. UNC football releases 2025 roster jersey numbers
A long-standing tradition with Bill Belichick when he coached at the NFL level with the New England Patriots is that each training camp, he started his players off with blank jerseys, stating that they much earn their numbers.
