Tehran is rocked by explosions.
Tehran, the Iranian capital, saw several explosions on Sunday morning, according to Iranian official media. Tasnim News Agency confirmed that two missile-like projectiles hit different locations in the city center. Iranian air defenses were aggressively fending off Israeli assaults above the capital, according to a number of outlets.
The Israeli military claims that the bombings targeted Iran's fuel storage facilities, nuclear weapons development locations, and Ministry of Defense headquarters. Additional strikes on Tehran's Revolutionary Guard installations and air defense systems were reported by Israel's Channel 13.
The Iranian government declared that all of Tehran's metro stations would be transformed into public shelters beginning Sunday night in response to the growing threat.
The Israeli military said it targeted a refueling plane at Mashhad Airport in eastern Iran, almost 2,300 kilometers from Israel, in what is being called the most extensive strike to date. Additionally, footage of heavy black smoke rising in Mashhad was released by Iranian media, which confirmed an explosion in the city.
Other purported Israeli strikes, meanwhile, targeted a nuclear plant in Isfahan, central Iran, as well as sites in Shiraz.
Israel's Increasing Death Toll and Infrastructure Damage
Following the recovery of further bodies in central Israel following Saturday night's Iranian missile attack, Israeli authorities reported the dead toll had increased to ten. At least seven people have been killed, according to the mayor of Bat Yam, which is close to Tel Aviv and may see more deaths.
In the last 24 hours, 385 individuals have been hurt, according to Israel's Health Ministry. Critical infrastructure, such as Haifa refineries and oil pipelines, was also damaged by the strikes.
The Israeli petroleum corporation Bazan reported significant damage to the refinery and pipeline systems in Haifa Bay.

"A new reality awaits Israel": Iran signals major transformation
ALBAWABA - A top Iranian military spokesperson warned Sunday night that Israel may soon become 'uninhabitable' and that its residents will no longer be protected by underground shelters as tensions between Iran and Israel escalate. According to the spokesperson, Iran has a comprehensive and in-depth database of important Israeli targets, including military installations, intelligence hubs, offices for making decisions, and even the residences of top military officials and scientists. He cautioned citizens from serving as "human shields," stating that "Shelters will not keep Israelis safe." The official stated in his statements that a number of sensitive locations on Israeli land have already been struck by Iran's recent strikes. Any additional Israeli assault, he stressed, would be faced with a "shocking" and "comprehensive" retaliation that would encompass all of what Iran views as occupied land. Iran's Mehr News Agency reported the remarks as part of a larger statement that also included scathing criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. His government is 'corrupt, criminal, and failing,' according to the Iranian military, which also charged that he started the recent escalation for personal benefit, endangering Israeli lives in the process. With a promise that retaliation would not be restricted in scope or location, the spokesperson declared, "Iran's armed forces will deliver a crushing and painful response to this child-killing regime." The declarations come after multiple nights of cross-border assaults in which Iran claimed to have successfully struck vital Israeli infrastructure. Israel has continued its own airstrikes against Iranian assets and has refuted several of Iran's claims. International observers are concerned about the escalating war because they believe the current military engagements could turn into a wider regional conflict.

Moment of fire as missile storm engulfs Haifa and flattens buildings
Published June 15th, 2025 - 08:23 GMT ALBAWABA - As military tensions between Iran and Israel rise, there have been a number of unproven stories on social media and opposition media sources saying that the families of high-ranking Iranian officials are being quietly taken out of the country. Sources in the Iranian resistance say that video has been released that supposedly shows private planes taking families of top regime leaders out of Iran. A fifth plane is said to have recently left Iranian airspace and was flying low between mountains on its way to the Russian border, according to one source. The reasons for these reported evacuations are still not clear, but there is rising talk that some Iranian leaders may be running away because they are afraid of vengeance from Israel or trouble in their own country. People on social media have made symbolic connections to the plane that took Ayatollah Khomeini back to Iran in 1979, saying that these planes are now taking regime supporters out of the country that is in danger. — Arya - آریا (@AryJeay) June 15, 2025 Even though none of these claims have been publicly confirmed by Iranian officials, they have sparked a public discussion about how confident the Iranian government is in the face of growing pressure from outside the country and unrest within it. Iran and Israel are still firing missiles and drones at each other, and the whole region is on high watch in case things get worse. On the same day, Israeli Channel 13 reported that the families of several cabinet members and ministers have also been moved to safe places inside Israel in case Iran attacks in response to current military operations. This is happening even though there are still limits on flights and the security situation in the area is generally unstable. © 2000 - 2025 Al Bawaba (
