Conwoman's widower charged with elderly woman's assault
Anthony Koletti, 43, was charged after meeting with police on Wednesday evening over a report made by a 73-year-old woman.
The woman alleged that a man had assaulted her on July 23 at the Lighthouse Reserve in Vaucluse, overlooking Sydney's eastern beaches.
She did not require medical treatment.
The park is a short distance from the Dover Heights home Koletti and Caddick shared before she disappeared in 2020.
Caddick, a self-styled financial adviser, went missing after plundering $23 million from family and friends via an investment scam to live a life of luxury.
The 49-year-old's luxury home had been raided days earlier by ASIC agents investigating her Ponzi scheme.
Coroner Elizabeth Ryan in May 2023 ruled Caddick was dead, but she was unable to determine the cause because most of her body had not been found.
The fraudster's badly decomposed right foot, which was still attached to a running shoe, washed up on a beach on the south coast of NSW in February 2021.
Investors defrauded by Caddick before her disappearance and death will recoup a portion of their $23 million in losses, after settling a class action lawsuit with her auditors earlier this year.
NSW Police investigating the alleged July 23 assault posted CCTV footage to Facebook on Tuesday to identify a man allegedly involved in the matter.
Koletti attended Waverley Police Station on Wednesday evening.
He has been granted conditional bail and is set to appear before a magistrate on September 5.

Police sources say Anthony Kolletti was walking about 5pm on Wednesday, July 23 in Lighthouse Reserve at Vaucluse when he walked towards two people he did not know, before allegedly 'barging' past one of them. He continued on his walk and then as he looped back, he walked past the couple again. One of the two allegedly took a photo of him and handed it in to police. Mr Koletti, 43, attended Waverley Police Station at about 6.30pm on Wednesday, and has since been charged with common assault. He was granted conditional bail to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on September 5. NewsWire approached Mr Koletti at the hairdressing salon where he works in Rose Bay earlier on Wednesday. The part-time DJ and hairdresser refused to speak to our reporter and asked him to leave the salon after realising he was not there for a haircut. Ms Caddick went missing just hours after her Dover Heights mansion was raided by the AFP and ASIC in November 2020. The raid was conducted over a Ponzi scheme which she used to fleece investors of $20m to $30m. Ms Caddick's severed foot was found three months later on an isolated beach on the NSW South Coast, some 400km away from where she was last seen. A coronial inquest held in 2023 found Ms Caddick was dead, but did not determine how, when, or where she died. During the inquest, Deputy State Coroner Elizabeth Ryan concluded it was 'most unlikely' the foot was severed 'as a result of a deliberate act'. Mr Koletti has never been charged with any crime relating to Ms Caddick's disappearance or her criminal actions and is not accused of any wrongdoing in relation to either her activities or disappearance. When Caddick's shoe with skeletal remains washed up on a remote South Coast beach three months after she vanished, some hypothesised she faked her own death. However, Deputy State Coroner Elizabeth Ryan ruled it was unlikely she severed her own foot in order to go on the run, saying there was no trail of evidence and she would have needed medical attention. The coroner ruled Caddick was dead; however, it could not be determined how, when and where she died.

The husband of late fraudster Melissa Caddick, Anthony Koletti, is set to face court after being charged over the alleged assault of a 73-year-old woman at a suburban park, near where his wife disappeared five years ago. Koletti has been charged with one count of common assault over the alleged incident which occurred at Vaucluse on Wednesday, July 25. 'A 73-year woman reported to police that she had been assaulted by a man about 5pm ... in Lighthouse Reserve at Vaucluse." NSW Police said in a statement. Police also made an appeal to the public earlier this week requesting information to identify an unknown man in a black Under Armour t-shirt, black cap and sunglasses. Images published in the appeal shows the man walking through a park in Sydney's east. Koletti attended Waverley Police Station on Wednesday, where officers laid charges over the incident. He is due to face court on September 5, 2025, to learn his fate. This is not the first time Koletti has been in the media spotlight. Ms Caddick vanished in November 2020 following raids by ASIC and the Australian Federal Police on her luxurious Dover Heights home in the city's east. They were investigating an alleged Ponzi scheme she was running which saw her take about $23 million from those she defrauded, which included family and close friends, but there was never an accusation of wrongdoing against her husband over the missing money. A couple of months later, Caddick's decomposing foot inside a running shoe washed up more than 450 kilometres from her home onto a New South Wales South Coast beach. Koletti told detectives at the time his wife had left on the morning of November 12, a day after the police raid, for a run in the affluent suburb. She had left behind her keys, wallet, and never returned home. The mysterious disappearance of the conwoman has left the nation puzzled for years. A coroner ruled Caddick died, but was unable to determine what contributed to her death.
