Bigg Boss 17's Soniya Bansal Bids Goodbye To Showbiz For Self-Discovery, Peace
Soniya Bansal emphasised that her decision was more than just leaving a profession; it was about reclaiming her identity.
Actress and reality television personality Soniya Bansal is stepping away from the entertainment industry. Known for her vibrant on-screen presence and glamorous career, the Bigg Boss 17 fame said she was choosing a different path for self-discovery, peace, and purpose.
In an interview with The Times of India, Bansal revealed she no longer found fulfilment in the glitz and chaos of the showbiz world.
'We're so much into doing everything for others that we forget ourselves. I realised I don't even know what my true purpose is anymore. In this race to be perfect, to stay relevant, and to earn more, I lost myself," she confessed.
Bansal emphasised that her decision was more than just leaving a profession; it was about reclaiming her identity. Soniya stated, 'Money, fame, popularity – I had it all. But what I didn't have was peace. And what will you do with the money if you're not at peace? You may have everything externally, but if you're empty inside, it's a very dark place to be."
The actress urged others to look beyond materialistic success and prioritise introspection. Explaining the same, she said, 'I want to deeply study what I really want in life. This industry gave me recognition, but it didn't give me stillness. It didn't allow me to breathe. I don't want to pretend anymore. I want to live authentically for myself and be a Life Coach & Spiritual Healer."
Reflecting on the unpredictable nature of life, Bansal added, 'You never know when your life will change. You never know when death might knock. And if we haven't lived truthfully by then, what's the point of this entire journey?"
Soniya Bansal started her career as a model before taking up acting. She marked her Bollywood debut with the movie Game 100 Crore Ka. The film also featured actors like Shakti Kapoor, Vishal Mohan, Rahul Roy, and Pankaj Berry. Later, she featured in multiple music videos and films like Dubki and Shoorveer. In addition to this, Soniya has also appeared in Telugu cinema, winning the hearts of audiences with films like Yes Boss and Dheera.
She shot to the spotlight after her appearance in the 17th season of the popular controversial reality show Bigg Boss. She grabbed eyeballs with her strong opinions and active participation in tasks, but her journey was short-lived as she became the first contestant to be evicted. The winner of the 17th season of the Salman Khan-hosted show was comedian Munawar Faruqi, with Abhishek Kumar finishing as the runner-up.

'This time, she will...' After Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, Deepika Padukone EXITS the Intern Remake? Here's why
'This time, she will...' After Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, Deepika Padukone EXITS the Intern Remake? Here's why Deepika Padukone was initially slated to star and produce the Bollywood remake of the English film The Intern , which was first announced in 2021. At that time, the makers intended to finish the production quickly and release the film the very next year. But now, nearly five years later, with a slow progress and minimal updates, new rumours are that Deepika is no longer part of the film. Why Deepika Padukone steps away from acting in The Intern Remake? A source close to Mid-day revealed that the actress has quit her home production and a new leading lady will be replacing her. She will now serve as the sole producer of the film, what is being called a 'creative and logistical reboot' of the business. The source was quoted saying, 'This time, Deepika will step away from acting in the film to serve solely as a producer, overseeing the creative and logistical reboot. A new leading lady is being cast to play the part she was once slated to perform.' The production will be solely under Deepika Padukone's leadership, and casting for the new female lead is already underway. As per the same report, this choice observes a significant shift in her professional path. 'The Intern is the first of five projects she plans to mount in the coming year. She is looking to tell stories that are globally relevant,' the source added. Well, Deepika hasn't made any official announcement yet. Deepika Padukone and Rishi Kapoor were initially expected to play… Deepika Padukone was earlier expected to play Anne Hathaway's role portraying a woman who hires a retired man, played by Robert De Niro in the 2015 original. Late actor Rishi Kapoor was initially approached to play this role, but after his demise in 2020, Amitabh Bachchan came on board. New Mom Deepika Padukone has been decisive to be more selective with her films and spend more time with her daughter, Dua. Earlier reports created a stir about her stepping away from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit. Meanwhile, she remains committed to her other big-banner projects such as King , opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and an upcoming Telugu film, opposite Allu Arjun, which will be directed by Atlee.

Inside Arpita Khan And Aayush Sharma's ₹25 Crore Sea-Facing Sanctuary in Bandra
Curated By : Swati Chaturvedi Last Updated: August 11, 2025, 10:22 IST Aayush Sharma and Arpita Khan Sharma got married in 2014 In Mumbai, where every square foot is a prized possession and balconies are rarer than punctual monsoons, Arpita Khan and Aayush Sharma have managed to land themselves the ultimate coastal trophy. Their Bandra address sits on one of the city's most desirable streets, a short, star-struck stroll from Salman Khan's legendary Galaxy Apartments and comes with a front-row seat to the Arabian Sea. This isn't just 'sea-facing." This is 'the sea practically says good morning to you." Over cappuccinos, you can watch the skyline soften under the sun's first blush, all without ever feeling disconnected from the pulse of Mumbai. But here's the twist: there's no bling overload, no gold-plated everything. Instead, think Scandinavian minimalism meets Bollywood warmth, a style cocktail that even Farah Khan admitted left her open-mouthed. The Brotherly Gesture That Became a Landmark Address Homes like this don't come on the market, they come as gifts. In this case, from Salman to his sister and brother-in-law. The generosity is as grand as the apartment itself. Step into the lobby and you're met with an airy, understated elegance, a space that's as much about quiet luxury as it is about scale. Beyond it, an open-plan living and dining area plays in a soft palette of whites and oceanic blues, dotted with furniture so pristine you almost feel the need to ask permission to sit. And yet, it's no sterile showroom, it's a home that's ready for kids' giggles and late-night family chats. Minimalism With a Personal Signature Arpita helmed the interiors herself, favouring clean lines, muted tones, and smart use of light, hallmarks of Scandinavian design. But in the middle of the calm is a striking personal touch: an Ayatul Kursi painting by Salman Khan. It's art, it's faith, and it's a deeply personal statement that anchors the space in meaning. The Balcony Every Mumbaikar Dreams About Forget cramped city balconies barely big enough for a potted plant. Here, there's space for al fresco dinners, morning yoga, kids' games, and long evenings watching the sun dissolve into the Arabian Sea. Wrapped in greenery and fitted with cosy seating, it's the kind of outdoor space that could be an address in itself. No wonder Farah Khan looked out at the view and declared, 'Better than Dubai!" A Kitchen With Its Own Microclimate Then there's the kitchen, vast, cool, and shockingly well-equipped. Four air-conditioners. Three refrigerators. Enough room to host a cricket match between the counters. When Farah asked who actually cooks here, Aayush joked about discovering their chef's salary and wondering if ordering takeout might be cheaper. Still, the heart of the kitchen beats with home cooking. Meals from Salman's mother, Salma Khan, arrive daily, while Arpita sends her own culinary offerings to the extended family. It's a food exchange program powered by love (and probably a lot of tiffin carriers). Finland, But Make It Bollywood In a laugh-out-loud moment during Farah's vlog tour, Arpita revealed that they took their chef along on a trip to Finland. Cue Farah imagining parathas being flipped inside an igloo. In reality, they stayed in a villa but the image is pure comedy gold. A Five-Year-Old's Interior Design Debut While Arpita masterminded most of the décor, the couple's daughter Ayat called the shots in her own room. The result? A pink fantasyland complete with fairy-tale details, cartoon accents, and an art corner for creative adventures. It's unapologetically playful, a refreshing contrast to the home's otherwise sophisticated vibe. Luxury That's Actually Liveable Swipe Left For Next Video View all Too often, celebrity homes feel like glossy museum exhibits perfect for photographs, but impossible to live in. This one flips that script. Yes, it's expensive enough to fund an indie film festival, but it's also a space where friends linger, kids run free, and life happens in the open. For all its grandeur, this Bandra beauty is a family home first. Maybe that's why even Farah Khan, a woman who has toured more than her fair share of luxe pads, couldn't stop raving about it. ‘When I Agreed To Marry Jay...': Juhi Chawla Reflects On Low Moments During Her Marriage
1/6 Actress Juhi Chawla, who made her Bollywood debut with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), married businessman Jay Mehta in 1995. This was Jay Mehta's second marriage; his first wife, Sujata Birla, tragically died in a plane crash in 1990. Sujata Birla was the sister of industrialist Yash Birla. Initially, Juhi Chawla kept her marriage under wraps. In an interview with Rajeev Masand, she shared how Jay Mehta courted her and how her mother-in-law supported her during challenging times. When asked why she chose to keep the marriage a secret, the Ishq (1997) actress explained, 'Everyone did that back then. There was no internet, and not every phone had a camera, so it was easier. At the time, I was establishing myself in the industry and working on some good films. When I agreed to marry Jay, I was terrified that it would spell the end of my career. Around the same time, my mother passed away, and I felt as though I was losing everything I had.' Juhi Chawla revealed that her relationship with Jay Mehta began before she entered the film industry, though they lost touch once her acting career took off. While living in Andheri, Mumbai, she remained focused on her work until she ran into Jay Mehta again at a friend's dinner party. They reconnected, and he began sending her flowers and letters, once even sending a truckload of roses on her birthday. After a year of courtship, he proposed, and Juhi Chawla accepted his love after another year. She shared that her mother had passed away before their marriage, leaving her utterly devastated. She had made the decision to step away from her career after tying the knot. According to Juhi Chawla, 'They say, when one door closes, another window opens. My husband Jay, my in-laws, especially my mother-in-law, took such good care of me. There was a period when I was miserable throughout the day. My mother-in-law always said to me, 'I consider you my daughter, not my daughter-in-law. Do whatever makes you happy.' She gave me the freedom to continue working.' In an interview with Doordarshan Sahyadri, Juhi Chawla mentioned that the wedding was initially planned as a grand celebration at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, with a guest list of around a thousand people. However, the plans were cancelled following her mother's passing. Juhi Chawla was in deep shock and feared that her career would come to an end, as was often the case with married actresses in Bollywood. Her mother-in-law's support proved invaluable during this period, she cancelled all the wedding arrangements and respected Juhi Chawla's wishes. Though invitations had already been sent out across the globe due to Jay Mehta's business network, her mother-in-law insisted that Juhi Chawla should not be pressured into a lavish wedding, offering her reassurance and emotional support. Juhi Chawla also spoke about the heartbreaking loss of her younger brother, who remained in a coma for several days after suffering a brain haemorrhage. She spent countless hours at the hospital, struggling to grasp the doctors' explanations or the medical procedures being carried out, while he remained on a ventilator until his passing. The experience left a deep emotional scar, and she expressed a heartfelt wish that no one else should have to endure such a loss.
