VICTOR, SWEDEN, N.Y. (WROC) — A proposed Chick-fil-A for the town of Victor is facing the town planning board next week. News 8 first reported on this possible location at Eastview Mall a year ago.
The fast food restaurant is looking to build a ~5,000 sq. ft. location with two drive-thru lanes, and 65 parking spots on a two-acre parcel near the southeast corner of the mall property.
Also on the docket for that meeting, is the latest on the proposed Westin hotel at the mall.
Another location has broken ground, this one in Sweden, according to a Facebook post from the corporate account.
Chick-fil-A corporate shared an image of owner Aaron Reynolds shoveling the dirt. The location is at the corner lot 4871 Lake Road near the Wegmans.

It's unclear if the old round bank building will be completely demolished. News 8 has reached out to find out when the location is looking to open, and we haven't heard back yet.

Meta reportedly in talks to invest billions of dollars in Scale AI
Meta is discussing a multi-billion dollar investment in Scale AI, according to Bloomberg. In fact, the deal value could reportedly exceed $10 billion, making it the largest external AI investment for the Facebook parent company and one of the largest funding events ever for a private company. Scale AI (whose CEO Alexandr Wang is pictured above) provides data labeling services to companies such as Microsoft and OpenAI to help them train their AI models. Much of that labeling work is done by contractors — in fact, the Department of Labor recently dropped its investigation into whether the company was misclassifying and underpaying employees. According to Bloomberg, the company saw $870 million in revenue last year and expects to bring in $2 billion this year. Meta was already an investor in Scale AI's $1 billion Series F, which valued the company at $13.8 billion. Scale AI also built Defense Llama, a large language model designed for military use, on top of Meta's Llama 3.

Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua to discuss college athletics with President Trump Notre Dame athletic director Pete Bevacqua and SEC commissioner Greg Sankey are reportedly meeting with President Donald Trump Sunday to discuss the future of college athletics. According to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo! Sports, Bevacqua and Sankey are traveling to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster to have a round with the 47th President, who is interested in discussing the college sports industry's future while on the course. This reported meeting comes at a time when the state of college athletics has never been more in flux. The House vs. NCAA settlement was finally finalized this past Friday evening, clearing a path for future revenue-sharing payments to be made directly to student-athletes for the very first time, further professionalizing college athletics. It allows for the establishment of an NIL Go Clearinghouse, which would have to approve NIL payments of more than $600 to student-athletes beginning this summer. Trump's interest in college athletics is nothing new. Previously he was working on a college sports commission that reportedly was going to be co-chaired by former Alabama head coach Nick Saban.
