28 Years Later: Second official trailer reveals new dangers in Danny Boyle's post-apocalyptic sequel
Columbia Pictures has released the second official trailer for 28 Years Later, the long-anticipated sequel from director Danny Boyle. The upcoming film returns viewers to a quarantined, post-apocalyptic Britain still grappling with the effects of the rage virus, nearly three decades after its original outbreak.
Written by Alex Garland, the film sets the stage for the first of two sequels in a new trilogy. It follows a group of survivors living on an island connected to the mainland by a fortified causeway. One member of the group ventures into the mainland, uncovering harsh realities and unsettling transformations among both the infected and other survivors.
The cast features Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O'Connell, Alfie Williams, and Ralph Fiennes.
Boyle recently said, 'I still love an apocalypse, British-style. I still love the infected. And I still love blowing shit up,' during a CinemaCon appearance. He also hinted that Cillian Murphy, the star of the original 28 Days Later, will appear in the trilogy but not immediately. Murphy, fresh off an Oscar win for Oppenheimer, serves as an executive producer on the new films.
Also revealed at CinemaCon was Nia DaCosta's involvement as director of the second sequel, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. She shared that although it draws from the original film, the script for The Bone Temple is unique in tone and content, giving her creative freedom to explore new ideas.
28 Years Later is scheduled for theatrical release on 20 June.

Benny Blanco dreaming of kids with Selena Gomez amid health challenges
Music producer Benny Blanco has opened up about his desire to start a family with partner Selena Gomez, even as the couple keeps wedding plans private. In a recent InStyle interview, Blanco said he's 'dreaming and praying' about becoming a father. 'I love kids; I love being an uncle. I want to be a dad, though, God willing,' he shared. Gomez has previously spoken candidly about her challenges with motherhood. In a Vanity Fair interview, she revealed she is unable to carry children due to medical complications stemming from lupus and bipolar disorder. Pregnancy could pose serious risks to her health and the baby's. 'That was something I had to grieve for a while,' she admitted. Still, Gomez remains determined to become a mother, considering adoption and surrogacy as meaningful alternatives. Her own mother was adopted, a fact she's called a 'blessing' in their family. Despite medical challenges, the couple is building a future together—starting with their $35 million Spanish-style estate in Beverly Hills, which Blanco has been filling with 'creativity and heart.' 'I love making a house my own,' he said, emphasizing the importance of comfort and authenticity. Blanco also reflected on his emotional growth, shaped by his upbringing with a single mother. He credits her with helping him understand women's emotional needs. 'A woman will tell you exactly what she needs,' he noted, emphasizing the value of listening and mutual respect. Reflecting on past relationships, he added that learning through trial and error taught him what not to do—and ultimately led him to Gomez.

Jessie J reveals early breast cancer diagnosis before "No Secrets" release
British singer-songwriter Jessie J has opened up about her battle with early breast cancer, revealing that she was diagnosed prior to the release of her track "No Secrets" in April. The singer, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, shared the news with her followers on Instagram on Tuesday. 'I was diagnosed with early breast cancer before 'No Secrets' came out,' Jessie J explained in her post, emphasising the importance of the word "early." Despite the diagnosis, Jessie expressed gratitude for the early detection, acknowledging the difficulties of cancer while focusing on the positive aspects of her situation. The singer has been undergoing a series of tests since the release of her song, and she explained that she decided to be open about her journey for a personal reason. 'I just wanted to be open and share it because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough,' she said. Jessie J also noted how sharing her experiences in the past has helped her connect with others facing similar challenges. Despite the situation, the singer found humour in the coincidence of releasing No Secrets alongside her personal health battle, saying, 'It's a weird topic and a weird situation.'
