AUSTIN, TX, June 19, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Telnyx, a leading provider of voice, messaging, and connectivity solutions for AI-powered communications, today shared that Poland-based startup IvoryLab has significantly advanced the development of its AI voice automation platform through the Telnyx AI Accelerator . The program, which provides up to $20,000 in credits, technical enablement, and priority support, empowered the IvoryLab team to move from MVP to production-ready with speed and confidence.
IvoryLab is building a scalable voice automation platform that helps businesses handle both inbound and outbound customer calls using AI-powered voice assistants. The platform supports use cases across hospitality, real estate, health and wellness, and food delivery, with functionality ranging from customer service to outbound lead qualification.
As a small team with a big roadmap, removing cost constraints allowed IvoryLab to experiment, break things, and refine their platform without hesitation. Marcel Karpiak, co-founder of IvoryLab, shared, 'The Accelerator will definitely help us to build a product which is the closest to perfection…Now we can test freely and not worry about the cost as much.'
The IvoryLab platform is built on Telnyx APIs and infrastructure, enabling rapid prototyping and seamless call orchestration. The team commented on Telny's intuitive yet powerful developer experience—designed to support both fast iteration and long-term scalability. 'We really like the Telnyx interface. Everything is super intuitive,' said Karpiak. He also noted that while other tools felt overly simplified, Telnyx struck the right balance between usability and professional-grade depth.
IvoryLab dove head first into Telnyx AI assistants , and since joining the program, they have: Created 11 AI assistants
Conducted 464 conversations
Logged 745 minutes (12.5 hours) of conversation usage
With potential STT integrations that better support Polish, the company anticipates these figures to triple.
'The Accelerator enabled us to move from MVP to a production grade AI solution faster,' said Adrian Marcinkowski, founder of IvoryLab. The partnership with the Telnyx AI Accelerator has helped them think bigger and build more confidently.
'We designed the AI Accelerator to help teams like IvoryLab iterate quickly and get real products into users' hands,' said Ian Reither, COO at Telnyx. 'It's been exciting to watch their progress, and we're looking forward to seeing other emerging use cases across the Accelerator portfolio.'
IvoryLab plans to launch its platform commercially within the next few weeks, targeting subscription-based deployments across Europe.

Study Shows LLM Conversion Rate Is 9x Better — AEO Is Coming

Bing, OpenAI, Microsoft and Google logos displayed on a phone screen and a laptop keyboard are seen ... More in this multiple exposure illustration photo taken in Krakow, Poland on February 8, 2023. (Photo by Jakub Porzycki/NurPhoto via Getty Images) Some predict that by 2028, more people will discover products and information through large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and Gemini than through traditional search engines. But based on research I conducted with Cornell Master's students, that shift is happening much faster. LLM-driven traffic is already starting to outperform traditional search — not in volume, but in value. Traffic from LLMs converts at nearly 9x higher rates than traditional search. This is the biggest disruption to search since the dawn of the internet. If you're a brand or publisher, now is the time to adapt your SEO playbook. Oh, there is no 'S' — it's now called Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) Back in January, I predicted that traditional search was on its way out. Just six months later, the shift is already visible. In my UX research, I classify shoppers into three categories: It's easy to see how all these needs can now be met through a conversation with LLMs like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Perplexity. Say you're looking for an isotonic drink powder. Instead of scanning blogs, watching videos, or scrolling endlessly, you now ask ChatGPT — and it responds with direct recommendations: Ask about ketogenic-friendly options, and it will go even further — offering details on ingredients, comparisons, and alternatives. Staff Sergeant Alex Mackinnon from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers holds a sachet of ... More isotonic drink, Tuesday September 20, 2005, at Bramley Training Area near Basingstoke, where the Army announced it will be including the sports drink in its ration packs. The powdered drink will be incorporated in 24-hour ration packs after the its producer, GlaxoSmithKline, won the three-year contract in a tendering process. See PA Story DEFENCE Drink. PRESS ASSOCIATION Photo. Photo credit should read: Chris Ison/PA (Photo by Chris Ison - PA Images/PA Images via Getty Images) This isn't search — it's advice. And when users follow those links or act on suggestions, they convert at dramatically higher rates compared to normal search traffic. In my studies, LLM-generated traffic behaves more like a personal recommendation than a keyword query. But here's the catch: if your brand isn't listed, you're invisible. The customer won't even consider you. Good numbers are hard to come by. LLM traffic, like what comes from ChatGPT, doesn't always leave a clean trail — users might just copy and paste a product name and head to Amazon or another site. To get better data, we created a ChatGPT-style experience inside the site search of several e-commerce stores. In A/B tests, we compared regular keyword search with an AI-guided, conversational search experience. The difference was stunning: almost 9x higher conversion. Yes, nine times. But it's not just conversion that's changing — the way people search is evolving, too. In the past, users typed one or two words like 'camera.' Now, when they're shown more natural and detailed responses, they respond in kind. We're seeing queries like: 'What's a compact camera for wildlife photography that fits in a carry-on?' Semrush backs this up with broader data: In our interviews, shoppers said they felt more 'understood' and 'better about their purchase.' It didn't feel like a search engine. It felt like getting advice from a knowledgeable friend. If you scale that behavior to external LLM traffic — not just on-site — the value of that traffic already rivals what you get from SEO. For brands, this means it's time to rethink how you show up in these conversations. That's what AEO — Answer Engine Optimization — is all about. Brands need to act. If you're not being cited by LLMs, you're becoming increasingly invisible. To get picked up by an LLM, you need to understand how these models learn from content. Masking in ML Training LLMs are pattern-completion engines. I often use the example of 'Life is like a box of ___' in my online certificate from Cornell. Correct. The answer is Chocolate. Machines learn the right answer through trial and error. This approach is called masking. To show up in an LLM's response, your content needs to become part of its masked training data. LLMs look for authoritative, helpful, and authentic content. Since they predict the next word in a conversation with a user, they favor content written in a conversational or Q&A format. For brands a new playbook is emerging AEO. I outlined all what brands need to know. AEO is just the beginning. Two even bigger shifts are on the horizon — and both will deeply impact how brands show up in the age of AI: Paid Ads in LLMs and Model Context Protocol and agents that act on behalf of the LLM. The future is already underway. Ping me on LinkedIn if you want to continue the conversation.

Exclusive: Base10 leads €25M round for Italian HR startup Jet HR

Jet HR, a Milan-based platform serving small and midsized enterprises, raised €25 million in funding led by Base10 Partners, founder Marco Ogliengo tells Axios exclusively. Why it matters: There is increased investor appetite for vertical SaaS solutions tailored to regional markets with high regulatory complexity. How it works: Jet HR provides an all-in-one payroll and HR platform that is specifically designed to navigate Italy's complex payroll regulations. It integrates with over 600 government entities and offers modules for payroll, health and safety course management, VAT account management, shift scheduling, and time and attendance tracking. The big picture: Italy's payroll processing market is notably expensive and complex, averaging over €30 per employee per month compared to about $6 for U.S.-based payroll services. Jet HR is betting that its digital-first platform and simplified regulatory management give it an edge over legacy incumbents like Zucchetti and TeamSystem, which Ogliengo says rely more heavily on manual processes. By the numbers: The startup says it grew its annual recurring revenue 6x in 2024 and serves more than 700 customers, primarily SMEs with an average of around 15 employees. Context: Before Jet HR, Ogliengo founded ProntoPro, a marketplace for local service professionals — like a Thumbtack for Italy. Zoom in: Since its founding in December 2022, Jet has raised about €42 million from investors that include Exor Ventures, Italian Founders Fund, and Picus Capital. Ogliengo notes the company was close to breaking even without the additional funding, but "having more capital now increases our optionality significantly," he says. Between the lines: The round marks Base10's first investment in Italy, reflecting a growing interest in under-invested European markets. "We were already very well networked across Europe through our existing investors. The first thing Base10 brings is the U.S. network. Moreover, Base10 is specialized in vertical SaaS and payroll and accounting," Ogliengo says. Along with the funding, Base10's Adeyemi Ajao — founder of Tuenti and former investor in Stripe, Nubank, and Cabify — will join Jet HR's board. What's next: Jet HR plans to double its team in the next 18 months, primarily investing in software engineering and product development.

Can Philip Morris Rely on Pricing to Drive 2025 EPS Growth?

Philip Morris International PM continues to lean on pricing as a key earnings driver. The company delivered a strong first quarter of 2025, with adjusted earnings per share (EPS) rising 12.7% year over year to $1.69. Pricing contributed 6 percentage points to organic revenue growth of 10.2%, supported by an 8.3% increase in combustible pricing and around 3% in smoke-free products, excluding devices. The company has raised its full-year EPS forecast to $7.36-$7.49. The question is whether pricing alone can sustain that pointed to continued pricing strength in markets like Turkey, Poland and Germany. However, it also noted that gross pricing and negative geographic mix are expected to moderate over the remainder of the year. In the smoke-free category, gross margins expanded 670 basis points to surpass 70%, now standing more than five points above combustibles at the current product and geographic mix. ZYN, a key contributor to smoke-free profit growth, saw shipment volumes rise 63% in the quarter, reinforcing the segment's scale and strategic so, Philip Morris delivered a 180-basis-point gross margin boost from pricing alone, reflecting the effectiveness of its pricing strategy. While pricing gains may be less pronounced in the second half, Philip Morris emphasized continued investments behind its smoke-free growth. With volume and mix improvements already visible in the first quarter, the company appears positioned to support earnings growth through a combination of pricing and product performance. Altria Group MO reported a 10.8% rise in net price realization for combustibles, which supported operating income growth despite steep volume declines. Yet, MO is facing consumer pressure, with many smokers trading down to discount brands, limiting pricing flexibility. In oral nicotine, Altria Group's on! posted 18% shipment growth alongside higher retail prices, but category competition and cost-conscious behavior remain visible Point Brands TPB saw explosive growth in its modern oral segment, with pouch sales increasing nearly tenfold year over year. However, this growth came with mix-driven margin pressure. Turning Point Brands' gross margin declined 220 basis points and it acknowledged the need for further investment to scale brands and improve profitability. With rising freight and tariff costs also in play, Turning Point Brands' pricing power remains limited without additional volume leverage. Shares of Philip Morris have gained 4.9% in the past month compared with the industry's growth of 5.1%. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research From a valuation standpoint, PM trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 23.19X, up from the industry's average of 15.64X. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The Zacks Consensus Estimate for PM's 2025 earnings implies year-over-year growth of 13.7%, whereas its 2026 earnings estimate indicates a year-over-year uptick of 11.7%.
