Cardiff Devils' 2025-26 schedule confirmed
The Welsh side begin the campaign with eight successive Challenge Cup fixtures, the first of which sees them travel to the Panthers - who they lost to in double overtime in last season's Playoff Final.

Devils host new head coach Paul Thompson's former side Coventry Blaze at the Vindico Arena in their first Elite League game of the season on Saturday, 11 October - with Panthers being their first away league opponents the following day.
Cardiff travel to Guildford Flames on 30 December for their final match of the calendar year before hosting the west Surrey club in their first fixture of 2026 on New Year's Day.
Blaze will be the final visitors of the regular season to the Welsh capital on 4 April, 2026 before Devils conclude their Elite League schedule at Panthers a day later.
Having finished the 2024-25 regular season in fourth place, Devils went on to end as runners-up to Panthers after an almighty Playoff tussle.

The Welsh capital side also suffered final heartache in the Challenge Cup, losing 4-0 to Elite League regular season winners Belfast Giants in the final.
Thompson was announced as Pete Russell's successor as head coach in May, having previously had spells in charge of Elite League rivals Blaze and Sheffield Steelers.
He had four seasons as head coach of Danish club Odense Bulldogs - who he led to their first ever Metal Ligaen Championship earlier this year.

Rasmus Hojlund remains adamant as AC Milan set deadline
Following a dismal campaign in which he netted only four times in the Premier League, Manchester United were forced to try and bring in a quality replacement for Rasmus Hojlund. INEOS splashed the cash to land Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, and Ruben Amorim opted to keep Hojlund on the bench against Fiorentina, a clear message regarding his future. The club have subsequently informed the 22-year-old to find a new club for himself even though he is hellbent on staying and fighting for his place. AC Milan are reportedly in pole position, having already agreed on a loan fee, but the Dane is yet to give his green light for the move. That has not impressed the Serie A giants. AC Milan unhappy with Rasmus Hojlund This dilly-dallying has allowed four other Serie A clubs as well as Newcastle to enter the race. Igli Tare, Milan's sporting director, has refused to admit defeat, and is in England hoping to wrap up the move. However, La Gazzetta dello Sport have now informed that the sporting director is losing his patience due to the Denmark international's stubborn stance. The ex-Atalanta ace feels, despite Sesko's arrival, he will still have chances to shine, and is desperate to prove his critics wrong after two underwhelming seasons in Manchester. As a result, the Rossoneri will wait for another week, and should the Denmark international not change his mind, they will move onto other targets. 'AC Milan is ready to close in on a loan deal with an option to buy, but the striker's agreement is still pending. 'Hojlund is a stubborn man. He's convinced he can have his chances in Manchester despite the competition. He wants to redeem himself after two so-so years with a trophy won—the 2024 FA Cup—and another lost in the final (last year's Conference League). Dane confident of making his mark 'Tare flew to England to try and secure the striker's approval, but he won't wait forever. A week at most, no more, then he'll focus on one of his other targets: Vlahovic, Jackson, and Gonçalo Ramos. 'Hojlund doesn't want to leave Manchester out of pure pride. Sweden's Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis raised his own pole vault world record to 6.29 metres at the Budapest athletics meet on Tuesday, marking the 13th time he has broken the mark and his third record-setting jump of 2025. Sweden's Duplantis broke the world record for the 13th time as he soared over the bar at the second attempt to improve on his 6.28m from Stockholm in June. Newcastle sign Malick Thiaw from AC Milan
have snapped up defender . The German international makes the move to Eddie Howe's side in a deal said to be worth about £34.6 million, including add-ons. Thiaw has agreed a long-term contract at St James' Park and will turn out in the number 12 shirt.
