Callaway Opus, Opus Platinum wedges
The Opus wedges have a redesigned shape that was driven by feedback from tour pros and feature a new face treatment that enhances friction
A week ahead of the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, Callaway has released a special version of its Chrome Tour golf balls.
The "May Major" edition of the Chrome Tour golf balls are adorned with symbols of host city, including a "QC" with a crown over it. Charlotte is known as the "Queen City" after being named in honor of King George III's wife, Queen Charlotte, in 1768.
The balls also feature a blue hornet, a nod to the city's NBA basketball team, the Charlotte Hornets, and the number 704, the city's telephone area code, is on the balls and the box as well.
From a performance standpoint, the Charlotte-themed Chrome Tour balls should play and perform like the standard Chrome Tour balls that released in 2024. They feature a four-piece construction with a large rubber core encased in two mantles covered by a thin, soft urethane cover.
Callaway updated the HyperFast Soft core to help golfers generate more speed and distance, while the thin urethane cover is easily grabbed by the grooves of wedges and short irons to generate spin on approach shots, pitch shots and chips. Callaway also updated the seamless, hexagonal dimple pattern, bolstering it in some areas with clusters of circular dimples to make the ball more stable in windy conditions.
The Callaway "May Major" Chrome Tour balls will cost $54.99 per dozen and are available for order on callawaygolf.com while supplies last.

Nikola Jokic's agent posts crytpic photos with LeBron James, Maverick Carter to tease ‘big plans'
If Nikola Jokic's agent was looking to raise some eyebrows, he certainly succeeded. Misko Raznatovic, the agent of the Denver Nuggets superstar, posted to Instagram a not-so-subtle post of himself on a yacht with Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and his longtime business partner, Maverick Carter. The post is geotagged in Saint Tropez, France, though it's unclear when exactly the get-together took place. The Instagram post is additionally captioned, 'The summer of 2025 is the perfect time to make big plans for the fall of 2026!' The post and its timing certainly grab the attention of basketball fans everywhere, considering the implications it could have. James, 40, opted into his contract with the Lakers for this upcoming season, which he's set to make $52.6 million in, and it likely signals the end of his tenure with the Lakers, with whom he signed with in 2018 as a free agent and helped them win a title in 2020. And the agent to one of the biggest NBA stars on the planet meeting with James and his business partner would certainly lend more credence to the idea that James' time in Hollywood could be coming to a close. Speculation has continued and on Sunday, NBA insider Marc Stein reported that James' future in LA would come down to one major factor. 'It all really depends on how this coming season goes,' a source told the insider. 'We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future,' Klein said in his statement last month. Kings' fan favorite gets $2.7 million contract offer to leave NBA
The Sacramento Kings hosted the best seasons of Richaun Holmes' NBA career. He's been away from the Kings for a couple seasons, but soon, he may not even be in the NBA. Telesport reports that Holmes has been in discussions with Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce about a $2.7 million contract to go overseas for the first time. The report states that Holmes is still waiting to see if an NBA offer comes his way this offseason. Holmes has played 10 seasons in the NBA, most recently for the Wizards. He has played for the Kings, 76ers, Wizards, Suns and Mavericks. MORE: Steph Curry provides clarity on his retirement plans Across four seasons with the Kings, Holmes had his best averages with any team, of 10.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. The 6-foot-10 31-year old played in 31 games this past season for the Wizards at 17.2 minutes per game and put up a ridiculous 64.7% from the field. Holmes can still score the basketball efficiently, and if he goes to Turkey, he'll likely put up strong numbers. With his 32nd birthday coming in October, it's not clear how much NBA time Holmes has left. Maybe one strong season in Europe would give him a final shot to come back to the league.
