Guard of honour for footballer who lost leg after being hit by car
Fans and team mates welcome Jordan Chiedozie onto the pitch for Bashley's benefit match against AFC Bournemouth. A footballer who lost a leg after being hit by a car on the M27 has been given a guard of honour by team mates at his former club. Jordan Chiedozie, who played for Southern League club Bashley FC, was left in a coma after he was struck by the vehicle as he tried to change a tyre in February. Richard Slee reports on Jordan Chiedozie's recovery and preparation for the benefit match. He'd been travelling home to Southampton after playing a match at Tavistock in Devon when the accident happened. The 30-year-old lost his right leg and suffered open fractures on his left leg, along with a cracked pelvis. Throughout his recovery his dream was to be able to walk out onto the pitch again, which, despite a metal brace, he was able to do at the benefit match on Friday. He was given a standing ovation by fans and team mates as Bashley hosted AFC Bournemouth's development side. The visitors won 6-1 but posting on X, Bashley FC said the result was unimportant. "The football came second today, it was all about showing support and love to the inspirational Jordan Chiedozie" they said. Having started his career at AFC Bournemouth, Chiedozie went on to play for clubs including Cambridge United, Margate, Poole Town and AFC Totton. Extended interview: Jordan speaks to ITV Meridian's Rachel Hepworth about the crash, his recovery, and the support he's received. The self-employed striker also worked in the building industry, but has been unable to focus on anything other than his recovery, which involves daily sessions of physiotherapy. "I try not to think too much about the future," he told ITV Meridian before the match. "I just focus on what I can do now, today. "My whole life changed in February, but I don't think my outlook on life has changed much. "I still try to make the most of every situation. " When I'm going into hospital for physio I see lots of people in far worse situations than me. It's humbling. "I think my mindset as a footballer means I'm able to focus on the physio and physical recovery because I'm used to it. " In many ways I still think I'm lucky because I'm still here." Chiedozie is still keen to compete in sport and hopes to rekindle his passion for golf. He recently received his prosthetic leg and is learning to adapt to his new life. A 44-year-old woman, from Wraysbury in Berkshire, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was later bailed until 1 May, extended until 1 August.

Love Island star Shea Mannings' bond with 5-year-old son as he chats fatherhood
The Love Island star has been open about how important it is that whoever he matches up with on the ITV2 dating show understands that his son is a big part of his life Love Island 's latest bombshell Shea Mannings isn't the typical villa flirt. In fact, this lad from Bristol has been very open about being a devoted dad, letting ITV bosses know that he is looking for a partner who will fit into his family. Shea is a scaffolder by trade but also has a passion for football, which he plays semi-professionally. His days are usually split between construction sites and the pitch. The 25-year-old has played for a string of Southern League clubs, including Swindon Supermarine FC and Bristol Manor Farm. While he clearly puts a lot of energy into his athletic abilities, the footballer has also been clear about how much he dotes on his son. Unlike some of his fellow Islanders who are just on the show for a laugh, Shea explained: "I'm 25 now, so I want to be settling down and have someone always by my side." While he is no stranger to the dating scene, as he did cheekily admit he is the CEO of "pulling girls", Shea insists he is ready to leave the casual flings behind in pursuit of something serious. He added: "I have a little boy, so I'll be taking him into consideration with who I couple up with." The Bristol local is looking for a bubbly girl with that "initial spark", but more importantly, he wants to meet someone with a kind heart who will have the maturity to understand his son's place in his life. The dad has chosen to keep his family life private on social media, sticking to posting snaps from the gym, football matches, and sunny holidays. The only details publicly known about his son are that he is five years old and was born in 2020. Shea Mannings has joined the current cast of Love Island season 12 as a bombshell alongside Remell from Essex, who has a reputation for being a bit of a playboy. While Shea has been keeping his cards close to his chest so far, Remell had a bit of a spark with Scottish beauty Alima, until he admitted that he once slept with five women in one night. This sexual confession seems to have turned Alima off, and viewers even took to X advising her to "run" and "save herself". While Alima was in the confessional booth after Remell shared his shocking secret with the group, she said: "This is the first time that he's walking into a villa like with new people. You then go and say that you've slept with five people in a night. I'm like why would you say that?" Fans suggested that she seemed to have 'the ick' already after the scenes. One fan wrote on X: "Alima has had enough of Remell already." Someone commented: "Alima was not impressed with Remell's story. Neither was I tbh." Another said: "Remell… now why would you say that of ALL things lmaoo Alima is DISGUSTED."
