United unveils new Polaris business class cabins with huge suites — how can you book them?

Through United, you can find United Polaris flights from San Francisco (SFO) to London (LHR) for as low as 80,000 miles. Through Aeroplan, they go as low as 70,000 miles.
United Polaris Studio suites are located in the first row of each business class section, and there are eight seats available. You can expect these seats to be priced higher than standard United Polaris.
Why? Because they're better.
United Polaris Studio suites are larger, and six out of eight include an ottoman with a seatbelt where a companion can join you during the flight.
Each suite features a 27-inch 4K OLED touchscreen (the largest among U.S. carriers) and convenient features, such as Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and multiple outlets.

So, is United Polaris old news with the introduction of the new United Polaris Studio suites? Nope! United is upgrading all the United Polaris products to suites on the new 787-9s.
The new standard in United Polaris seats has sliding doors, and every suite has all-aisle access. Each suite has a 19-inch 4K OLED touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity, as well as wireless and other charging options.
United Polaris customers now have the opportunity to choose whether they want more privacy with seats that face the window or the center of the plane. They can choose seats that face the aisle. Middle seats that face the aisle have a divider that can be lowered to bed height, perfect for loved ones traveling together.
United Polaris customers can also access a new onboard grab-and-go snack bar, featuring drinks and specialty snacks.
The Elevated interior overhaul isn't only about business-class seats. United Premium Plus seats are getting major upgrades, including a 16-inch 4K OLED screen, wireless charging, and a privacy divider with a reading light, along with dedicated holders for water bottles and headphones.. Planes with the Elevated interior will be some of the first United wide-body planes to have free Starlink internet for United MileagePlus members.
United Economy Plus and United Economy passengers don't have to miss out either. Some of the upgrades in these sections include 13-inch 4K OLED screens, Bluetooth connectivity, and six outlets for phones and other devices per row.

Months After ESPN Opt-Out, MLB May Increase Its National TV Exposure
When ESPN and Major League Baseball opted to end their long-time media partnership in February, both parties appeared to be at an inflection point. MLB's national relevance felt like it was shrinking. ESPN was looking to cut costs on some of its larger properties. What a difference six months makes, though. On Tuesday, Yahoo Sports' Kendall Baker reported that MLB was close to finalizing the outstanding portions of its media rights agreement for the 2026-28 seasons. The highlights, via Baker: What It Means For MLB It's hard to fully evaluate these deals just yet, if only because we don't have the financial details. But it seems highly likely that NBCUniversal will pay MLB something near to what it was getting from ESPN ($550 million per year) and Apple ($85 million per) under the previous arrangements. Netflix's portion would also add to that total, as would ESPN, buying Overall, MLB is highly likely to make more money from this reworked deal compared to the existing ones. Even if not, though, the move is still a win for baseball. It trades limited streaming reach on Apple TV+ for potential broadcast reach on NBC (assuming it's not a Peacock-only window). And then swaps cable for broadcast's larger audiences on Sunday nights. The Home Run Derby also gets a potential upgrade that puts it in front of a younger audience on Netflix. Among MLB's previous gripes with ESPN was that it was 'not pleased with the minimal coverage that MLB received on ESPN platforms' (via a memo from commissioner Rob Manfred). Appearing on NBC would potentially solve those issues. NBC's Sports Resurgence NBC shuttered NBC Sports Network at the end of 2021 as it was losing NHL rights and consolidating programming and leveraging Peacock. Yet since then, it's made aggressive moves to expand its sports footprint on TV. Over the last few years, NBCU has acquired broadcast rights for the Big Ten Conference, NBA and WNBA, and now potentially MLB as well. The company now has so many tentpole sports properties that it is considering launching a cable sports network again (according to reporting from The Wall Street Journal). A foothold with MLB on Sunday nights would also give NBC dominion over that night of the week year-round. Sunday Night Football would hand off to Sunday Night Basketball, which would give way to Sunday Night Baseball. Given what NBC has already managed while turning SNF into the NFL's biggest weekly showcase, it's easy to be optimistic about it doing the same for the NBA and MLB, elevating those matchups as well. ESPN's Everything App Gets Even Bigger ESPN manages to have its cake and eat it here, shedding the pricey national TV deal with MLB while picking up what could be a lucrative out-of-market product in Leading up to the launch of ESPN's new standalone streaming app, the company has been busy making the offering unavoidable for sports fans. In recent months, ESPN has added WWE events to its roster and acquired NFL Media properties like NFL Network and NFL RedZone (while also giving up 10% of the company to the NFL). By tacking out-of-market MLB games onto the service much in the way it has already done with various niche and college sports rights plus the former out-of-market games, ESPN very much plans to win over fans with the sheer volume of content available within this streaming app. Even more notable: Acquiring these out-of-market games allows ESPN to completely circumvent the need for a national media rights deal with MLB. If there's an interesting matchup one night, it can simply utilize the app's interface to give it the premium treatment and direct audiences there. MLB rights, much like the NHL rights it already has, also give ESPN an even longer list of recognizable logos for viewers to see while scrolling through the app. In an environment where all consumer expenses are being scrutinized, the idea that you'll get most MLB and NHL games on top of main ESPN feeds – even if you don't need them all – is an appealing sales proposition. Regardless of the financials involved, though, all sides seem to score a big win here. Assuming the sport doesn't implode when the collective bargaining agreement expires at the end of 2026, of course.

Sony announced a $50 price increase on all PlayStation 5 'slim' models in the US starting tomorrow, August 21st. The upcoming prices for a PS5 Digital Edition, the standard PS5, and the PS5 Pro are $499.99, $549.99, and $749.99, respectively; however, you can avoid paying the higher prices by picking up a PS5 at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart today. The disc-based PS5 is already sold out at Amazon, and your options may get even more limited the longer you wait. As of right now, you can get the PS5 Digital Edition for around $449 at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target, while the standard PS5 can be had for around $499 at Best Buy, Walmart, and Target. You can also pick up the newer PS5 Pro for around $699 at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target. All three PS5 consoles can play the same library of games, but have slight differences. The PS5 Digital Edition features rearranged port selection and lacks a built-in disc drive, which means it can only play digital games downloaded from the PlayStation Store. (Sony sells an optional external drive you can add after the fact for $79.99 if you'd like to play physical games or Blu-rays.) The standard, disc-based PS5 features the same tech specs, but with an internal disc drive. The PS5 Pro, meanwhile, has a better GPU, faster memory, improved ray tracing, support for Wi-Fi 7, and AI-powered upscaling. It lacks an internal disc drive, but it's compatible with the external disc drive developed for the original PS5. It also comes with 2TB of internal storage instead of the 1TB SSD found in the non-Pro models, so you have additional space for stowing digital games. The beefed-up system doesn't have exclusive titles, but select PS5 titles have received updates to look better. Sony's price hike comes less than a month after Nintendo introduced a similar $30 increase on the original Nintendo Switch models. Nintendo also recently raised the prices of certain Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, but Sony says 'the recommended retail prices for PS5 accessories remain unchanged.'
