Harrison Ford, 83, shares he is glad Hollywood hires 'old guys' because he never wants to stop working
The 83-year-old movie star believes actors are fortunate in that there is no strict time limit on their working life.
Asked if he'll ever retire, Harrison told Variety: 'No. That's one of the things I thought was attractive about the job of an actor, was that they need old people, too, to play old people's parts.'
The actor found fame with several movie franchises Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Blade Runner.
His fame has only grown by going to TV where he has won a new fan following from the shows 1923 and Shrinking, which is heading into its third season.
Harrison has worked with some of the biggest names in the movie industry - including Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola - during the course of his career.
And the Hollywood icon feels fortunate to have worked through the 70s and 80s, too.
He said: 'You're talking about a very exciting time in the movie business. In the late '70s and through the '80s, there was this group of young filmmakers, all of them wildly independent, both in spirit and in mind, who wanted to make their own films their own way, and they all burst upon the scene at much the same time.
'I was very lucky to lump in with those guys because I was of a youthful age. But I never expected to be anything more than a character actor. I never wanted to be anything more than somebody that made a living as an actor.'
Harrison played Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise, but he wasn't sure whether the original film would lead to a sequel.
The veteran movie star explained: 'I didn't really know whether there was going to be another film when we started, and because I didn't know whether there would be another film — and because I only had the script from the first one to consider — I didn't sign the sequel deal, which turned out to be to all of our advantage.'
Harrison also played the titular character in the Indiana Jones franchise, and the actor was always convinced that the first film would become a huge success.

Ford proved last year he is still in great shape when he went shirtless on Shrinking
Asked how he felt reprising the character for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Harrison explained: 'I wanted to see him as an older man facing the consequences of the life that he had lived.
'But I couldn't imagine that we were going to end up doing five of them.
'I didn't expect success. In the movie business, you always go in wanting to be successful, but you don't always expect to be.
'I did expect the first film would be wildly successful.'
Ford added: 'I read it very quickly, one time. I'd been asked by George Lucas to go and meet Steven Spielberg, who I didn't know, and he sent me a script to read. I thought it was great.

Kelly Clarkson's talk show future is revealed amid her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's tragic death
The fate of Kelly Clarkson 's eponymous talk show has been revealed amid her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's death. Despite the family tragedy, the Emmy-winning talk show will return for season seven in September, TMZ reported on Friday. Blackstock died on Thursday at age 48 after a three-and-a-half-year battle with the skin cancer melanoma. Clarkson, 43, and her former spouse welcomed daughter River, 11, and son Remington, nine, during their nine-year marriage, which ended in 2020. The talent manager is also survived by his pregnant daughter Savannah, 23, and son Seth with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth. A representative for the family confirmed Blackstock's death in a statement on Thursday which read: 'It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. 'Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. 'We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time.' In a statement shared online on Wednesday, Clarkson revealed a health-related issue with Blackstock forced her to postpone in Las Vegas residency. 'Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,' she wrote. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. 'I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding,' she concluded. The Kelly Clarkson Show viewers wondered about the future of the show after the host's various unexplained absences earlier this year. Clarkson and Blackstock began dating in 2012 and tied the knot the following year. The Kelly Clarkson Show was renewed by NBCUniversal in December. It has maintained the top afternoon TV spot throughout its six seasons on air. The program has featured a rotation of A-list guests including Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber, Margot Robbie, and John Cena, among many more. Her Kellyoke performances — a spin on karaoke — have collected millions of views online, often with praise from the original artists. 'Kelly Clarkson is a national treasure. We couldn't wait to announce another season of The Kelly Clarkson Show, fresh off the top-rated Christmas in Rockefeller Center in which Kelly hosted,' Tracie Wilson, Executive Vice President, Syndication Studios and E! News at NBCUniversal, said in a press release last year. 'There's an appetite in talk for stories that entertain and inspire, and The Kelly Clarkson Show is a shining star that delivers for our stations and connects with viewers across multiple generations in meaningful ways.'

Machine Gun Kelly opens up about his water fast that lasted four days
Machine Gun Kelly recounted his experience with water fasts, including a four-day fast during the Los Angeles wildfires, where he felt 'delirious' and had to evacuate his home. He revealed that he often skips meals, sometimes eating only a couple of times a week, and consumes bone broth with kimchi and sauerkraut for probiotics. Kelly noted that water fasts can eliminate beneficial gut bacteria, which is why he cooks bone broth as a source for probiotics. He also mentioned his beverage choices include water, coffee, celery juice, and coconut water. The singer addressed public speculation about his relationship with Megan Fox after leaving rehab, stating that neither of them commented on the rumors.
