Everton condemn online threats aimed at James Tarkowski
Everton have condemned the online abuse James Tarkowski has faced following Wednesday's Merseyside Derby defeat to Liverpool.
Tarkowski was fortunate to escape a red card following an 11th-minute challenge on Alexis Mac Allister. The centre-back won the ball but followed through in a reckless manner, catching Mac Allister high on the leg.

He received a yellow card for the tackle, but the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) later admitted the decision was a mistake. PGMOL deemed Tarkowski's challenge met the threshold for serious foul play.
Everton have now released a statement to say the club are 'aware of threats made towards James Tarkowski, and his family on social media' in the aftermath of the game.
The Toffees are engaging with police ahead of a potential investigation and have 'strongly' condemned the abuse aimed at the 32-year-old.
'Everton Football Club is aware of threats made towards James Tarkowski, and his family on social media. Such behaviour is completely unacceptable and has no place in football or society,' a club statement read.

'The Club is liaising with James and his wife Samantha, and stands ready to engage with the social media companies and assist the police with any potential investigation.
'Everton strongly condemns any form of online or offline intimidation, threats or abuse directed at players, staff, or their families.'

Tottenham trigger Ben Davies contract extension
Tottenham Hotspur have triggered a one-year extension in Ben Davies' contract. Davies, 32, is Spurs' longest-serving player, having been at the club since 2014 following his move from Swansea City. He has made 358 appearances in that time. The Wales international has undergone a slight position change in recent seasons, often operating as a left-sided centre-back, as opposed to left-back. He played 23 times for Ange Postecoglou's side in 2024-25, featuring regularly during the injury-enforced absences of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. The Athletic reported in November 2024 that Spurs intended to trigger the one-year extension clause in Davies' contract, keeping him at the club for a 12th season. He signed a three-year contract in 2022 when Antonio Conte was head coach. Davies' Spurs tenure has seen him feature under five different permanent head coaches, and the Welshman will play under his sixth next season following the dismissal of Postecoglou. He was signed by Mauricio Pochettino shortly after the Argentine's appointment, alongside Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm. The defender was an unused substitute in Spurs' Europa League final victory over Manchester United as they ended their 17-year wait for a major trophy. Spurs' 17th-place finish was the lowest in the club's history in the Premier League era. ()

Liverpool to go ALL in on special winger
Mitoma to Liverpool could be a genuine possibility According to The Athletic, a summer move for the Japanese winger is not off the cards. In the report, it says: "Mitoma had no interest in a move to the Saudi Pro League when Brighton rejected offers from Al Nassr of £54m and £61m in the January transfer window. Advertisement "He gave little away after the Tottenham game to a group of Japanese reports who follow him at Brighton, commenting only that hew 'can't say anything' and 'doesn't know anything' regarding his future. Asked more generally whether playing in the Champions League would be appealing, Mitoma said: 'That is one goal, but if I focus on what's in front of me and do it right, I believe I can play in it.' "It promises to be an anxious summer transfer window for supporters accustomed to revelling in his wizardry." We're definitely at a point where Mitoma might have to seriously look at what he wants and given his contract expires in 2027, it's also clear that Brighton will have consider giving him a new contract. The 28-year-old left-winger has been in the Premier League since the 2022/23 season and across those three campaigns, he has delivered 20 goals and 13 assists in 88 appearances. Advertisement He is highly regarded as hugging the touchline and creating width in Fabian Hurzeler's side with his mains skillset being willingness to press high up the pitch. Brighton's possession-based approach is incredibly similar to that of Arne Slot's and the Reds' system would suit the player well. Furthermore, the promise of Champions League football and a regularly Premier League title charge might be tempting opportunity that is simply too good to ignore. Especially when you consider he would be teaming up with his international countryman Wataru Endo next season. Of course, we must recognise that Brighton will be unwilling to let him go, but as mentioned earlier, we are reaching a point where they have got to consider their options with him. Had the Seagulls have clinched Conference League qualification, then this ultimately might have been a different story, but the lack of European football for an ambitious player might be pivotal. Liverpool also need to have Diaz moving elsewhere before an approach for Mitoma is even considered, and that is currently unlikely to happen unless the Saudis' interest is ramped up.

Man United Flop Cools Inter Milan Transfer Links: ‘I Have A Contract At United Until 2030, I Still Expect To Play There'
Man United Flop Cools Inter Milan Transfer Links: 'I Have A Contract At United Until 2030, I Still Expect To Play There' Man United striker Rasmus Hojlund has poured some cold water on transfer rumours linking him to Inter Milan this summer. Speaking to reporters after Denmark's win over Ireland, via FCInterNews, the 22-year-old stressed that he still has a contract with United until 2030, and 'expects to still play there.' Advertisement Recent reports indicate that Inter Milan have made Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund a major transfer target. The Dane has been at United for two seasons. He made the big money move from Atalanta in the summer of 2023. However, Hojlund has been unable to come anywhere close to his form from Atalanta in his two seasons at Old Trafford. That could lead United to try and cut their losses by offloading Hojlund this summer. And reportedly, Inter still rate Hojlund highly based on his time with La Dea. 'So I expect to still play for Manchester United.' And as far as the rumours linking him with Inter, Hojlund stated that 'As I've always told you, I try to stay away from them.' 'Because lately, it's been both good and bad.' 'And I know how things are. And that's that I have a contract with Manchester United until 2030, and I expect to play there.'
