DKS will become CM when time is right: Mandya MLA
andya: Amid ongoing speculations about DCM DK Shivakumar becoming chief minister, Mandya MLA P Ravikumar asserted that his leadership will materialise when the time is right.
"138 MLAs stand firmly behind DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah. When time and circumstances align, he will certainly become the chief minister. Timing and opportunity bring results — he deserves the post and will take it when destined," he said.
Reacting to BJP state president Vijayendra's "revolution" remark, Ravikumar stated, "While they talk of revolutions, we believe in a mantra of peace. We avoid responding to opposition provocations.
The decision rests solely with the high command. Both the chief minister and deputy chief minister have clarified their positions, and MLAs support both leaders."
Dismissing reports about Congress MLAs being in contact with the BJP, he added, "We're not in touch with anyone. BJP attempted to lure our MLAs, even offering Rs 100 crore, but none defected. Having failed, they're now sitting quietly at home."

Plea to expedite rly development works
Rajamahendravaram: Member of Parliament for Rajamahendravaram Daggubati Purandeswari met South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Tuesday at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad to discuss railway development plans within her constituency. She explained the meeting details. According to the MP, during the meeting, Purandeswari highlighted the delay in the main Rajamahendravaram railway station development works. She pointed out that despite Rs 271 crore being sanctioned for the project six months ago, tenders have yet to be called. She urged the General Manager to immediately float tenders and commence work, emphasising the need to complete the station's development and make it accessible to passengers by the Godavari Pushkarams in 2027. General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava assured the MP that tenders would be called within two to three days, and the first phase of the work would commence immediately. A tragic road accident occurred in the Muwani area of Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district on Tuesday, when a Max vehicle carrying 13 passengers fell into a 150-metre-deep gorge. The incident claimed the lives of eight people on the spot, while three others sustained serious injuries. In a message posted on Facebook, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote: "Received the tragic news of a vehicle accident in the Muwani area of Pithoragarh district. I pray to the Almighty to grant peace to the souls of those who lost their lives and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense grief. The district administration has been directed to ensure proper treatment for the injured. I pray for the speedy recovery of all those hurt in the accident." According to initial reports, the ill-fated vehicle was en route from Muwani to Bokta when the accident took place. Following the mishap, senior administrative officials rushed to the spot and coordinated with disaster management teams to carry out a rescue operation. The injured were retrieved from the gorge and transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital for urgent medical care. The impact of the accident was so severe that the vehicle was completely mangled. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed. However, local officials have said that the victims were all residents of the region and were returning to their village when the tragedy struck. Preliminary assessments suggest that poor road conditions and high speed may have contributed to the accident, though the exact cause is still under investigation.
