Wolfsburg fires Ralph Hasenhüttl as coach after 8 games without a win
WOLFSBURG, Germany (AP) — Wolfsburg has fired Ralph Hasenhüttl as coach two games before the end of the season after eight matches without a win in the Bundesliga.
The Volkswagen-backed club said late Sunday that Hasenhüttl was 'relieved of his duties as Wolves head coach with immediate effect' along with assistant coaches Craig Fleming and Patrick Hasenhüttl, and others.
'Results and developments in recent months have led us to the decision to act now,' Wolfsburg CEO Peter Christiansen said.
Hasenhüttl's last game was Wolfsburg's 4-0 defeat at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Daniel Bauer, who was previously in charge of Wolfsburg's Under-19s, is taking charge for the last two games against Hoffenheim and Borussia Mönchengladbach. The 42-year-old Bauer was to take charge of his first training session on Monday.

White caps rally in 8th with 2-run single, Arizona to CWS with 4-3 win over Tar Heels

(AP) — Mason White's two-run single capped a three-run eighth inning, lifting Arizona to a 4-3 victory over North Carolina on Sunday to earn the Wildcats their 19th trip to the College World Series. Arizona (44-19) dropped the opener of the Chapel Hill Super Regional 18-2 to the fifth-seeded Tar Heels (46-15) before winning 10-8 on Saturday and rallying on Sunday.
