Ex-Steelers Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick opens up on being traded to Dolphins
Miami Dolphins All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick addressed the media for the first time since the Pittsburgh Steelers traded him to Miami on June 30. He said his silence was not a reflection of his feelings about his return to Miami.
'One, I am not a big social media guy, you aren't going to see me on there, point blank,' Fitzpatrick explained to the Miami media. 'Two, in no way, shape, or form was that an expression about coming to Miami. Three, I want to thank the city of Pittsburgh, you guys treated me very well. i enjoyed my time there, had some great players and great teammates. It was very unfortunate the way things ended, it's a part of business. I'm extremely excited to be a Miami Dolphin.'
Fitzpatrick declined any and all questions about the past. He just wanted to focus on the present and being a Dolphin.

NEW YORK (AP) — Pinch-hitter Dominic Smith hit a tiebreaking RBI single against his former team in the 10th inning leading the San Francisco Giants to a 4-3 win over the New York Mets on Friday night. The victory snapped a six-game losing streak for the Giants, who dealt relievers Tyler Rogers and Camilo Doval, as well as outfielder Mike Yastrzemski, prior to Thursday's trade deadline. Alonso is within three homers of Darryl Strawberry, who holds the franchise record at 252. The Mets tied the game in the eighth when Juan Soto had an RBI single and Alonso lofted a sacrifice fly. But, Ryan Walker (3-4) retired New York in order in the ninth and Smith, who spent the first six seasons of his career with the Mets, singled home automatic runner Willy Adames with one out in the 10th. Randy Rodríguez worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the 10th by striking our Ronny Maurcio to earn his second save. Giants starter Robbie Ray gave up one run in seven innings. Mets starter David Peterson allowed two runs in six innings. Key moment Smith's go-ahead single gave him his first pinch-hit RBI of the season and the 24th of his career. Key stat Francisco Lindor, who singled before Soto's RBI single, and Alonso had hits in the same game for just the 10th time in 42 games, dating to June 12. The two are batting a combined .191 (62-for-325) in that span. Another sex toy gets thrown onto the court during a WNBA game
CHICAGO (AP) — A sex toy was tossed onto the court during a WNBA game for the second time this week. Video showed the sex toy out of bounds under a basket after a whistle was blown to stop play during the third quarter of the Golden State Valkyries' 73-66 victory over the Chicago Sky. An official then kicked it aside before it was picked up and removed. 'It's super disrespectful,' Sky center Elizabeth Williams said in the postgame press conference. 'I don't really get the point of it. It's really immature. Whoever is doing it needs to grow up.' A similar incident occurred Tuesday during the Valkyries' 77-75 victory over the Atlanta Dream in College Park, Georgia. 'I mean, first of all, it was super dangerous,' Valkyries forward Cecilia Zandalasini said after Tuesday's game. 'And then when we found out what it was, I guess we just started laughing. I've never seen anything like that. I'm just glad we worked through that situation. We stayed locked in, we stayed concentrated.'
