Beachgoer Finds Woman's Ashes in a Bottle, Then Her Sweet Message to the Woman's Daughter Goes Viral
A woman placed her mom's ashes in a bottle, so she could finally travel the world
'This is my mum. Throw her back in,' Cara Melia wrote on the note she placed in the bottle. 'She's travelling the world."
Another woman found the bottle within 12 hours — and her message to Melia went viralA grieving daughter placed her mom's ashes in a bottle so she could finally see the world. Not long after, a stranger found the bottle — and her message to the woman's daughter went viral.
In February, Cara Melia's mom, 51-year-old Wendy Chadwick, died of a heart condition, the BBC and the Manchester Evening News reported. The mom of five never got a chance to travel the globe, which her family decided to rectify after her death.
'For a long time she looked after her late brother and her mum as their carer,' Melia, 24, told the paper.
Chadwick also loved the beach, so Melia originally considered scattering her ashes on the beach during a recent trip to Skegness, a town in England along the coast of the North Sea.
'But my best friend thought of the bottle idea and put her out to sea,' Melia continued, according to the Manchester Evening News. 'I wrote the note because I wanted her to finally get to travel because she didn't get to before she passed.'
'This is my mum. Throw her back in,' the note read. 'She's travelling the world. Thanks, Cara, Oldham, UK.'
Melia said a final goodbye to her mom, but just 12 hours later, the bottle was found by somebody visiting a beach in Skegness, the BBC reported. A Facebook post about the discovery soon went viral.
'Can everyone please share this far and wide in hope it finds Cara from Oldham!!' wrote Kelly Sheridan on Tuesday, June 3, captioning a picture of the bottle, note and a video of a boy tossing the bottle back into the water. 'We found this lovely lady earlier today at Butlins, Skegness beach,' she continued. 'She's been thrown back in the sea as requested.. happy travels Cara's Mum.'
While Melia was grateful her mom's ashes had been returned to the North Sea ('Thank you for throwing her back in,' she responded on Facebook), she hoped the initial journey would be longer.
"Nobody was meant to find her for a bit,' she told the BBC. 'She was meant to be in a completely different country.'

But Melia thinks her mom would be tickled by the discovery. Chadwick was a "very quirky kind of person,' said Melia, who told the outlet her mom would be giggling over the news.
Now that her mom has been returned to the sea, she hopes the next trip will be longer.
"I am hoping she goes further this time and finally gets a chance to travel the world,' Melia told the Manchester Evening News. 'It seems to have touched so many people.'

Miley Cyrus and Boyfriend Maxx Morando Take Couple Coordinating to a Whole New Level with Matching Hairstyles
Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Maxx Morando went out for a glamorous date night in New York City on June 5 While the couple didn't coordinate their ensembles, they did have matching hairstyles Cyrus and Morando have been dating since 2021Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando, are hair twins. The "Flowers" singer, 32, was spotted having a fashionable night out with her musician boyfriend, 26, in New York City, on Thursday, June 5. The couple was spotted leaving the Four Seasons Hotel after Cyrus' private event, then they set off for the rest of their evening. For their date night, Cyrus wore a brown satin, fitted cone bra dress with black criss-cross lace details down the front of the dress, as well as the hips. The hem of the dress featured a long fringe that swayed as the singer walked. Morando kept his look classic for the evening, wearing an all black suit consisting of a jacket, matching shirt and black pants. For a casual touch, the musician kept a couple of buttons loose to expose a white crew neck undershirt. Though their outfits were distinct, the couple matched when it came to the way they styled their hair. Cyrus styled her brunette hair with blonde highlights in carefree curls that cascaded down her back. She also styled her now grown out baby bangs into curls that were flipped away from her face, and folded in seamlessly into the rest of her hair. Morando, meanwhile, kept his overgrown mullet and bangs styled as he normally does — he let his natural curls pop, with a few pieces laying less than perfectly for a chic touch. Cyrus' curls paired with Morando's curls led to a matching hair moment that recalled the likes of David and Victoria Beckham's twinning hair styles in the 2000s, or Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt in the '90s. Cyrus and Morando's last major matching hair moment came in March, when the couple walked the red carpet at the 97th annual Oscars on March 2. is now available in the Apple App Store! For the glamorous red carpet date night, Cyrus wore a custom Alexander McQueen black halter dress with sequined and sheer elements. Though Cyrus would debut baby bangs later that night, she started off the evening with old Hollywood-inspired curls. Morando similarly kept his mullet styled in his natural curls, though his were wispier and highlighted with blonde — a near-direct match to Cyrus's blonde highlights for the evening.
