Jessie J 'rolls eyes' at horribly inappropriate fan demand after cancer surgery

Metroa day ago
Jessie J has detailed how she was met with messages of unwanted 'advice' in the aftermath of sharing her breast cancer diagnosis.
In June the singer, 37, revealed she'd been diagnosed with 'early breast cancer' a few months earlier.
At the time Jessie – real name Jessica Ellen Cornish – said she was set to 'disappear' for a bit to undergo a mastectomy.
'I'm getting to keep my nipples … that's good. It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job!,' she joked.
Although Jessie had made light of the surgery by saying she would 'come back with massive boobs', she's now shared how many weighed in and made comments about her breasts.
In an interview with The Times, Jessie detailed the unsolicited advice some attempted to pass on.
'People messaged me saying, 'Don't get big implants',' she recalled while rolling her eyes.
'Like, this isn't cosmetic surgery, it's a mastectomy. I was able to keep my nipple but it's all numb now.
'And when I bend down it looks like I've got a plastic carrier bag in my boob because you can see the wrinkles.'
Jessie's early diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) allowed her to avoid chemo and radiotherapy, but the large size of her tumour (5cm), required a full mastectomy.
Following the surgery, Jessie's mum was helping massage her boob recently (as she can't touch the scars) but started sobbing and in shock over 'how this has happened'.
Although she recently received the all-clear, Jessie is feeling 'cautiously confident' but still needs another surgery and 'to heal'. She also was pragmatic about the cancer returning, citing the statistic that there was a 1 in 2 chance of it happening.
Jessie's breast cancer diagnosis came in the middle of her music comeback after three years without releasing new music.
Her next album is due to be released at the end of the year, but Jessie also said that if she 'died tomorrow' she wouldn't car about where her songs have charted and was instead more concerned about how she'd 'made people feel'.
Last week she was rushed back into hospital after having an infection and fluid on her lungs develop.
In a series of posts shared on social media, Jessie said she was also 'finding it hard to breathe' but was eventually able to leave and go home. More Trending
Jessie has previously been open about other health issues. She's spoken before about being diagnosed with Wolff–Parkinson–White syndrome as a child, a condition that makes the heartbeat abnormally fast.
She also suffered a minor stroke as a teenager and, in 2020, was in a car accident that injured her larynx and left her unable to sing for a year.
The singer is mum to son Sky, who was born in May 2023. His dad is professional basketball player Chanan Colman, whom Jessie began dating in 2021.

Yungblud says Ozzy Osbourne 'meant everything to him' and admits the Black Sabbath star's death was 'overwhelming' after hearing the news while 'cut off on an island with no internet connection'

Yungblud tearfully revealed that the late Ozzy Osbourne 'meant everything to him' in a new interview this week. The English singer-songwriter had a very strong relationship with Ozzy, who he first met in 2022, and it appeared that their relationship grew into an almost father-son type bond. Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, reportedly gave a touching reading at The Black Sabbath frontman's funeral, after his death aged 76 on July 22. He also performed at the Black Sabbath star's farewell gig at Birmingham 's Villa Park in June amid Ozzy's ailing health. And speaking to The Times this week Yungblud, 28, told how his death has felt 'overwhelming' after finding out the sad news after being cut off on an island without internet where he was recording new music. He told the publication: 'I told a friend that I thought Ozzy had another five albums in him. And then he did the show and then he died. It's so overwhelming.' Holding back tears he added: 'I just love him and right till the very end he supported me. I get emotional, because I've loved him since I was about two. 'He taught me self-belief and so I'm going to take his spirit and make sure everybody knows for the rest of my life who Ozzy Osbourne was - he meant everything to me.' Earlier this month Yungblud shared a picture of the gift the rocker gave him before he died, hours after he gave a reading at the funeral at his home in Buckinghamshire. He took to Instagram to share a close-up snap of the cross necklace Ozzy gifted him in 2022, during the filming of his The Funeral music video. Yungblud later returned the favour by gifting Ozzy a custom-made cross necklace before Black Sabbath's final show at Villa Park in Birmingham. He wrote in the caption: 'goodnight oz. your light will forever shine. I love you,' with fans noting in the caption that Ozzy has 'passed the torch of darkness on' to Yungblud. Yungblud previously revealed that the gift from Ozzy was the 'most precious thing' as he paid a 'truly heartbroken' tribute to the rocker. The singer performed Changes at Black Sabbath's final concert and has vowed to play it for Ozzy going forward. Speaking to The Times this week Yungblud, 28, told how his death has felt 'overwhelming'. Yungblud and Sharon pictured together at the Rolling Stone UK Awards in 2023 Rock legend Ozzy was buried in the grounds of his own mansion in Buckinghamshire - as he had said he desired. His widow Sharon, 72, and their children were joined by heavy rock royalty at the event at the family's home near Gerrards Cross, where he was being laid to rest near a lake at the heart of the sprawling 250-acre estate. Marilyn Manson led the stars arriving at Ozzy 's private funeral as the heavy metal icon was laid to rest. Following the funeral Marilyn took to Instagram as he penned: 'Today we laid to rest a beloved friend. I am eternally grateful that you let me into your life Ozzy. 'Your inspiration and love will always be with me. Thank you Sharon and family for a reverent, beautiful ceremony. Your legacy lives on.' Guests also included Manson's wife Lindsay Usich and Ozzy's lead guitarist Zakk Wylde. Ozzy took to the stage for his farewell concert at Villa Park stadium in his native Birmingham less than three weeks before his death - reuniting with his original Black Sabbath bandmates for the first time since 2005. More than 42,000 fans packed into the venue for the Back To The Beginning show, during which he told the crowd in his final speech: 'You've no idea how I feel - thank you from the bottom of my heart.' A message on screen then read: 'Thank you for everything, you guys are f***ing amazing. Birmingham Forever,' before the sky lit up with fireworks. He had told of it being his last performance due to his health, having opened up about his battle with Parkinson's in 2020. He is survived by his wife Sharon and his five children Jessica, Louis, Aimee, Kelly and Jack.

Tricks successful Gen Z women are using to find rich husbands: Even the ex of Princess Beatrice's husband is sharing her tips - as cost-of-living crisis hits feminist values

Gen Z women have been sharing their tips and tricks to snare a welathy husband to ensure a comfortable future, despite being financially stable in their own right. Well-to-do young women in the UK and beyond are seeking out wealthy men so they can fulfil their dreams of having a big house, children, and a four-wheel drive, which, sadly, on a single salary today, seems unlikely. With a cost-of-living crisis and rising house prices to contend with, feminism is slipping down the list of priorities for some, in favour of marrying a man to maintain a good standard of living. Jemima, 31, a London-based young woman who works in the arts, told The Times: 'I love my job, but I also want a kitchen island, a garden, and the occasional holiday. Is that really so much to ask? With a degree from a Russell Group university and an impressive job, Jemima fulfils society's criteria for success, yet she remains unable to secure her desired lifestyle without help. So, how are these women finding their partners? By spending their earnings on expensive luxuries with the hopes of locking eyes with a rich man who will help to fund weekly pilates classes, exotic holidays, and a Le Creuset crockery set. Amelia, 24, who works in media in London, told the outlet that one of the best ways to find a suitor is by signing up to Third Space, a luxury gym that can cost up to £305 per month. The gym, which markets itself using intense shots of fitness pros that scream sex, is known in the city to be a hotspot for investment bankers and tech types, and so naturally, women like Amelia have figured them to be a good place to meet a man. 'If I don't find myself a wealthy banker by the end of this I'm quitting,' TikTok @gabrielcollections wrote while justifying her membership. Elsewhere, even someone as successful as Dara Huang, who has links to the Royal Family, with her ex and father to her son being Edo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Beatrice's husband, has revealed a way to find rich men. The architect, boasting huge deals with brands like Joe & the Juice and a degree from Harvard University, joked on Instagram, 'Just a small note for all you single ladies out there. 'Go to Mayfair on a Friday around 5pm because it's 99 per cent men flooding pubs,' while sharing a snap of herself outside the pub as men in suits stood enjoying pints in the sunshine. For others, their favoured methods are shopping for signet rings, as touted by Hermes Birkin bag owner Isobel Lorna, or a stroll through Notting Hill, one of London's most affluent areas. Degree-educated Samantha Moitzi, originally from Australia but currently in London, took to TikTok to tell her 'single London queens' that she was hit on by men three times during her time in the area. 'Be alone, be wandering Notting Hill,' the TikTok user told her followers on the lookout for men. Elsewhere, successful AI entrepreneur Iona Carmen said she drinks at The Connaught bar in London, an exclusive setting with expensive dining options, because, in her words, it's a 'good place' to find 'high value men'. While it's all fun and games on TikTok, the dating trend is a representation of harsh times, says City St George's sociology professor. She told The Times: 'Despite the rise of feminism, many young women who have ticked all the boxes they were told to are still struggling financially.' It comes after Gen Z officially declared men in finance to be the ideal partner on TikTok, rebranding City men from bad guys to husband material with a catchy rap. It's no secret that men who work in the finance industry, who are currently being satirised as 'finance bros' on social media, have long been shunned among singletons across the globe for fear of a vacant and unfaithful partner who's constantly working. Films often support the notion that 'finance bros' are undesirable for instance, Leonardo DiCaprio's role as the greedy stockbroker Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street or the chilling portrayal of investment banker Patrick Bateman, played by Christian Bale, in American Psycho. But thanks to Gen Z, the 'finance bro' has undergone a rebrand as Gen Z has claimed them to be ultimate boyfriend material. The movement resulted from a viral TikTok song with the lyrics, 'I'm looking for a man in finance. Trust fund. 6'5. Blue eyes. The song's success was so significant it led its creator, Megan Boni, 26, who lives in New York, to quit her sales job after securing a record deal and an agent. Megan, known as @girl_on_couch online, developed the lyrics and requested her followers to 'make this into an actual song' for fun. @samanthamoitzi_ i feel a new series coming on. okay let's get serious with the details: 📍 notting hill, london. 🕰️ 12-4pm on a monday. 👗 wear cute outfit (unsure if it was the pink or the gingham or the trench?) earphones in the entire time, listening to nothing so you can hear when you're getting waved down or spoken to. 📍 ☕️ nathalie cafe bring: laptop, purchase matcha and sweet treat. 📍 📕 portobello road market, 'positive thoughts on portobello road' book stand. #single #dating #londondating #girltok #psa #aussieinlondon #relationship #fyp ♬ original sound - samanthamoitzi_ The video quickly amassed over 38 million views, attracting impressive music deals with Polydor, Virgin Germany, and Capitol, to license her vocals to producers. As Megan wished, her lyrics transformed into a catchy techno song when Man in Finance (G6 Trust Fund) with Billen Ted hit streaming platforms, including Spotify. 'I haven't slept. I feel like I've been blacked out for a week,' Megan told PEOPLE about her newfound success. She added: 'I suddenly have an agent.' 'I have calls with major companies. I have all these DJs who want to release the first single with me, so I'm suddenly navigating the music industry,' she added. Indeed, esteemed DJ David Guetta, 56, went on to remix the lyrics during one of his live concerts, which Megan attended. Zach Elgort, VP of marketing at Capitol, told Billboard that the collaboration was 'kind of a marketing dream'. He added: 'This project shows an evolution of how social media meets music.' The song wasn't the only catchy element because viewers quickly commented that now, they would like to date a man who works in finance, despite the song being satire. One said: 'Not a want, but a need'. 'I'm looking for a man in banking and hedge funds, private equity I want one', a second added. A third wrote: 'You wrote the song for our lives not just summer.' A fourth said: 'Most iconic video of 2024'. Elsewhere, others used the soundtrack while recording their attempts at finding a man who works in finance, is six feet five inches, and has blue eyes. For instance, content creator Leila Layzell took to the streets of Canary Warf, London, holding a sign that read: 'I'm looking for a man in finance' while approaching men dressed in suits and gilets.

JD Vance's secret service 'circus' takes over sleepy Cotswolds village

Locals have been left shell-shocked after US vice-president JD Vance and his secret service motorcade rode into their sleepy hamlet on his very British holiday to the Cotswolds. Taking time off from being ruthlessly mocked in South Park, the US vice president is winding down for the summer holidays in the hamlet of Dean, near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. But villagers are being overwhelmed by the 'Men in Black' like security entourage treating 'old ladies like terrorists' and implementing roadblocks that put a burden on the idyllic location. One woman told The Times the village had seen 'one blinking pantomime after the other' and said: 'We are used to the great and good here. Before David Cameron moved in we had Douglas Hurd and he was lovely. 'We have Ben Kingsley in Spelsbury and we see him in the woods walking his dog, but to close off the roads is ridiculous.' The woman told the paper she and a friend had been stopped by police blocking a footpath while walking through the area, and said: 'I told the police 'we are two old ladies, we are hardly terrorists'.' Another local told the Guardian police were knocking on doors asking for personal details of residents and their social media accounts. He said: 'I know several people refused. We asked them if they were protecting us, or Vance. At least they were honest and said it is for him and that it will all be passed on to the American security people.' One local ranted to LBC: 'Generally we like to welcome everybody to Chipping Norton, but no, I'd absolutely kick him in the shins.' Vance is visiting the Cotswolds, nestled in the lush rollinghills, with his wife Usha and children Ewan, Mirabel and Vivek. They are renting a luxurious home from Johnny and Pippa Hornby, who have transformed the Edwardian garden into a 'waterworld' with added swimming pools. In a message seen by The Telegraph, Ms Hornby told neighbours she was 'so sorry for the circus that is there for the next few days', and that she hoped it would not be 'too disruptive'. But JD Vance was mixing business with pleasure as he visited British foreign secretary David Lammy on Saturday. The meeting took place at the Foreign Secretary's official country retreat, Chevening, in Kent, where Mr Vance stayed at the start of his UK jaunt. After the meeting, Mr Lammy said: 'The UK's support for Ukraine remains ironclad as we continue working towards a just and lasting peace.' It is understood that the meeting had been called at Washington's request, and included representatives from the US, Ukraine, France, Germany, Italy, Finland and Poland as well as the UK.
