Is Sasha Leaving 'General Hospital'? originally appeared on Parade.
General Hospital has been on fire lately, with several storylines keeping fans on their toes. One of those storylines involves Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) tormenting Michael (Rory Gibson) and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) by messing with baby Daisy.
After Daisy went missing, Sasha became dead set on kissing Port Charles goodbye. Considering Holly (Emma Samms) and Robert (Tristan Rogers) are her parents, we have no doubt they could make Sasha disappear with their granddaughter in a heartbeat. The latest development with Sasha has fans wondering if the character and actress are leaving General Hospital. A fan wrote on X, 'Is Sasha moving out of the house or is she moving out of Port Charles like leaving town? #GH.'
One fan shared on X, 'Looks like Sasha is on her way out of town? Maybe those rumors were true after all.' A different fan expressed, "I'm assuming the actress that plays Sasha is leaving the show so she's going take Daisy with her #GH."
"Sasha definitely following in Mom's footsteps if she's going to leave and hide," declared a fan.
There has been no confirmation that Mattsson plans to leave the hit ABC soap. The actress has been playing Sasha since 2018. Neither she nor the powers that be at General Hospital have addressed the exit rumors surrounding her.
Last year, General Hospital did a little history rewrite by making Sasha the daughter of Robert and Holly, so odds are the character isn't going anywhere. The writers wouldn't have made Sasha a legacy character to have her exit.
Willow using baby Daisy as revenge amid her breakdown doesn't work if Sasha and the baby leave. That story is just getting started with the big stalker Willow reveal happening this week.
Plus, as Parade reported, General Hospital fans are so ready for a Misha coupling. The chemistry between Gibson and Mattsson as Michael and Sasha is off the charts.
All signs point to Sasha not leaving, but remember, it's a soap, and anything is possible, especially when exit rumors are making the rounds.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.

Jussie Smollett to speak in Netflix documentary about hate crime hoax

Jussie Smollett's alleged hate crime hoax is the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary. The streamer announced Tuesday that 'The Truth About Jussie Smollett?' will be released on the platform Aug. 22, according to Deadline. Producers of the true-crime hits 'Tinder Swindler,' 'Trainwreck' and 'Don't F**k with Cats' are behind the 90-minute project, comprised of interviews with police officials, lawyers, journalists and Smollett himself. The film centers on the yearslong legal saga launched by Chicago investigators, who determined the 'Empire' actor staged a 2019 hate crime attack as a 'publicity stunt' to advance his career. The documentary has been described as the 'shocking true story of an allegedly fake story that some now say might just be a true story.' In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, director Gagan Rehill said the film 'is a thrilling ride, and we were lucky enough to have access to the key players.' Smollett claimed in January 2019 that unknown assailants attacked him on a Chicago street, punching him in the face, pouring a chemical substance on him and putting a noose around his neck while yelling racial and homophobic slurs. Two brothers associated with Smollett, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, later confessed to having been involved in a scheme orchestrated by the openly gay actor to make it look as though he'd been accosted by Trump-supporting extremists. The 43-year-old NAACP Image Award winner was arrested and later found guilty on a handful of charges related to the incident. He was sentenced to 150 days in jail in 2022, but was released after six days pending an appeal. His conviction was overturned last November as part of a plea deal with prosecutors in exchange for community service and the forfeiture of his $10,000 bond. Smollett, who has always denied any wrongdoing, also agreed to donate at least $50,000 to Chicago's Building Better Futures Center for the Arts organization to resolve the city's lawsuit against him. _____

Waldorf Astoria Reopens In New York With Three New Restaurants

Dishes at Yoshoku, the Japanese restaurant at Waldorf Astoria New York It's been over eight months sins the Waldorf Astoria New York closed for renovations in March 2017. And now, the legendary property dating back to 1931 has returned in renewed splendor, with three new restaurants open to the public this summer. Room reservations are now open for guests to start checking into the Art Deco property's 375 expansive guest rooms and suites starting this September. New to the iconic Park Avenue property is a signature restaurant, Lex Yard led by Chef Michael Anthony of Gramercy Tavern, plus the unveiling of a new Japanese dining locale, a kaiseki restaurant named Yoshoku. The iconic Peacock Alley (the original Waldorf Astoria restaurant replicated at the brand's properties worldwide) will return with cocktails curated by Jeff Bell of Please Don't Tell. Executive Chef Patrick Schaeffer will oversee the trio of culinary concepts. Cocktails at Lex Yard at Waldorf Astoria New York 'As we reintroduce Waldorf Astoria New York to the world, our culinary concepts serve as both a nod to our past and a bold step forward,' said Luigi Romaniello, managing director, Waldorf Astoria New York. 'Our hotel served as the birthplace for several food and beverage creations and we look forward to building on the hotel's legacy of culinary innovation and mastery with our new experiences. Peacock Alley, Lex Yard, and Yoshoku each reflect the unique spirit of this city, and they've been crafted to offer and set the benchmark for hospitality that New Yorkers — and the world — have always expected from Waldorf Astoria New York.' Here's what to know about each restaurant: Lex Yard: Waldorf Astoria's New Signature Named for the hotel's location and historic Track 61 train depot, which runs beneath the property and connects to Grand Central Terminal, Lex Yard at the corner of Lexington Avenue and 50th Street is Waldorf Astoria New York's new all day restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bilevel, 220-seat restaurant offers a ground-floor bar and upstairs dining room. Chef Michael Anthony's New American, seasonal menu is served à la carte selection or as a prix-fixe market menu, available only on the second floor. Signature dishes include the Royal Ocsiètre gold caviar sando and slow-poached halibut with borscht sauce. Ravioli at Lex Yard at the Waldorf Astoria New York Downstairs, the bar offers the a la carte menu in a more casual, convivial setting. Shareables include a raw bar, cheese and charcuterie, plus a new bagel service. Executive Pastry Chef Jennie Chiu's desserts include a reimagined red velvet soufflé tart with cream cheese raspberry swirl ice cream, a nod to the hotel's role in popularizing the iconic cake. Peacock Alley: A Reimagined Icon At the heart of the hotel, Peacock Alley returns as a destination bar and social salon connecting Lexington and Park Avenues. The space has been revitalized and restored by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill with interior design by Pierre-Yves Rochon (PYR), starring a grand bar made of black lacquer and Saint Laurent Marble flanked by intimate seating areas and discreet service stations. For the first time, Peacock Alley will offer full-service dining, with a menu nodding to the hotel's heritage, including housemade pigs in a blanket with spicy mayo, roasted and raw vegetables with sweet onion dip; and a New Waldorf Salad with celery, apples, chicories, and lemon dressing. The cocktail program, developed by Jeff Bell, is inspired by classic technique and timeless flavors with modern flair. Signature drinks include the Waldorf Cocktail (New York Distilling Co. Jaywalk Rye, Carpano Antica, Absinthe) and 50th St Martini (Tanqueray No. Ten, Dry Vermouth, Muyu Vetiver Liqueur). The Cole Porter Piano at Peacock Alley in the Waldorf Astoria New York Yoshoku: Artful Kaiseki in Midtown Manhattan Steps from Park Avenue, Yoshoku is an intimate dining destination situated around the hotel's iconic 'Wheel of Life' mosaic and a series of neoclassical murals celebrating the rituals of food and gathering. The six-course locally inspired seasonal menu represents stage in the arc of life: birth, friendship, struggle, love, wisdom, and memory. Summer dishes include grilled lobster brushed with clarified butter, toro tartare with caviar, and king crab with tosazu jelly. An ala carte menu is also available. The beverage program includes sake, champagne, Japanese spirits, and signature cocktails like the Sendai (Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky, Japanese Sweet Bermutto, Yuzu Bitters), and the Tonikku (Roku Gin, Creme de Framboise, Italicus, Tonic).
