Helen Flanagan's rocky romances from 'man ban' to tough decision over 'split'

Daily Mirror4 days ago

Helen Flanagan is believed to have broken things off with boyfriend Robbie Talbot as she continues to put her children first. Here, the Mirror takes a look at the actress' former relationships and 'man ban' her pals ordered
Helen Flanagan has reportedly split from boyfriend Robbie Talbot a year after the pair went public with their romance. The mum-of-three had hinted at wanting a child with the former footballer, but has since had a "change of heart," according to friends.
Helen, 34, was living with Robbie, 45, in her stunning Bolton mansion, but just last month, the former Coronation Street actress revealed he had moved out because it was not helpful to her children, who 'missed' their dad, Helen's ex-fiance, Scott Sinclair.

Her relationship with Robbie came after her friends had attempted to put her on a 'man ban' after her difficult split from Scott. Here we take a look at the actress's past love life...

The I'm A Celebrity star separated from Bristol Rovers footballer Scott Sinclair in 2022 after 13 years together. The pair share three children: Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and son Charlie, four.
Last year, Helen spoke out about her split with Scott and revealed, " We don't like each other." Opening up on Charlotte Dawson's Naughty Corner podcast, she said, "I still love him very much, I care about him deeply, but we don't like each other. We don't like each other at all, we don't get on. I do know that Scott—he'd never admit it—cares about me too, and he does love me."
She continued: "The last time I saw him, I thought it was quite funny, I was taking the p*** out of him because he had a bucket hat on. I think he was trying not to laugh."
After their split, Helen confessed how her friends tried to put her on a 'man ban' after she split from Scott. She told The Sun's Fabulous Magazine:"A lot of my friends were trying to put me on a man ban, which obviously didn't work! I was hurting from the break up and I've always just wanted to be loved so I started dating."

Helen met Robbie not long after her 'ban' and Robbie had been living in the former Coronation Street star's home since last month, eight months since the pair began dating. She told Daily Mail's podcast in March that "everyone loves him" and called him the "funniest guy I've ever met."
She continued: "He's got two kids and he's really beautiful with my children. I think that's what made me fall more in love with him because he's so good with my mental health and that's the main thing for me that I need. I need someone that's good for me mentally and emotionally, that's my top thing and that's what I've realised.
"No disrespect to the father of my children, I'll always have that love for him, but he didn't know how to cope with me or didn't know how to do that, and not everybody does, but because the man that I'm with now really knows how to do that, it makes me happy."

However, friends now claim the mum-of-three had a change of heart and told Robbie their relationship 'wasn't working.' According to The Sun, a source said: "They want different things in life. She has just landed a new acting job and is trying to juggle work projects with the kids. She sat him down two weeks ago and said, 'This isn't working'... She just wants to be on her own for a while although she still has feelings for him."
Robbie had moved into her pad after she said she felt "safer" with a man in her house and often gets scared on her own - but realised it was having a bad effect on her children. Always wanting to put her children first, she called her daughter Matilda a "daddy's girl" and "sensitive" who struggled with not seeing Scott as much as she'd like. Helen realised that having a boyfriend in the house didn't help the situation.

Emmerdale surprise as Ryan Hawley spills major spoiler about Robert Sugden's plans for John

Emjson Sugden made his shocking return to Emmerdale during the wedding of his ex husband Aaron Dingle and his half brother John Sugden - but it appears he may have a darker motive. Emmerdale was abuzz with excitement last night as Ryan Hawley made a dramatic return as Robert Sugden after a six-year hiatus. The beloved character made a surprise comeback during the nuptials of his former husband, Aaron Dingle, and his half-brother, John Sugden. The Mirror had the exclusive scoop that he's back for the long haul, a fact Ryan himself confirmed on Lorraine this morning. The presenter could barely contain her delight when Ryan announced his return to the role "indefinitely" but that wasn't all he divulged. ‌ In a teases during the chat, Ryan said: "Robert's back. He's coming back to try and win Aaron back, he's going to put a stop to John." ‌ Lorraine playfully interjected: "He's going to try," leading Robert to amend his statement: "He's going to try!" This apparent 'slip up' didn't escape the notice of eagle-eyed viewers, with one fan speculating on X, previously known as Twitter: "and he will put a stop to John! that was a little slip up, wasn't it? he corrected himself immediately because we ́re not supposed to know just yet." With fans already concerned for Aaron's safety as John has been implicated in several sinister events in the village, including the demise of Cain's son Nate Robinson, speculation is rife that Rob might return to "save" his ex from his half-brother, reports the Mirror. ‌ Could Ryan's comments have inadvertently confirmed these theories? Previously speaking to the Mirror, he revealed: "The secret is out today! My character is returning permanently and not just for Aaron and John's wedding. I am back for good, and I am so excited to be playing Robert again." ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! He went on to explain that he had been asked to reprise his role in the past, but it "never felt quite right". However, a recent conversation with co-star Danny Miller changed his mind. "Recently, while I was living in Brazil with my family, where we had been for the past year, Danny texted to see how I would feel. We've always kept in touch, and after a lot of thought, I told him, 'Yeah, I am up for it'. I then got a call swiftly from the producers, and it went from there," he added. ‌ Hawley has now moved back to the UK permanently to continue his role in the soap. Despite efforts to keep his return a secret, rumours began to circulate in recent weeks. The show even used the pseudonym 'Marco' on scripts to maintain secrecy. Fans will have to wait and see what new drama Robert brings to the Dales.... Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.

Oasis album with 'poor production' still divides fans two decades later

The album, which celebrates 20 years since its release this week, is still a source of debate among fans - with some arguing it's their best album since the 90s. Now 20 years on, there's still one lesser-known Oasis album which still causes a stir among fans. Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher are all prepped for their sell-out worldwide gigs later in the year. The iconic reunion will see the brothers take to the stage for the first time in 16 years, with shows in Edinburgh Murrayfield, London and Manchester. Despite coming together after nearly two decades, debate continues among one of their albums. ‌ Whether any of the album's tracks will grace the setlist of their upcoming gigs is unknown, as their fanbase remains split. Don't Believe the Truth, which was released 20 years ago today, 30 May back in 2005, continues to spark discussion on its quality. ‌ Rapidly becoming one of Britain's quickest-selling albums, it received positive reviews upon release. However, discussions have been heating up on Reddit, where passionate Oasis fans deliberate the album's merit, with some branding certain songs as lacklustre "filler" material, reports the Mirror. One fan threw out the question: "Opinions on Don't Believe the Truth? What are everyone's thoughts and opinions on Don't Believe the Truth? I've only listened to the album start to finish once and it really bored me. It's an album I really want to like and I'm considering giving it another chance, should I?". ‌ The album continues to divide opinion among listeners, with some feeling it doesn't measure up to the initial critical acclaim. One listener voiced their disappointment with the album's lesser-known songs. They stated, "Singles are very good but fillers are boring and bland, Heathen Chemistry is a better album overall despite having some weak moments. I still prefer Don't Believe the Truth singles to those on Dig Out Your Soul though." A further supporter expressed reservations about how the tracks were handled in production: "I love the album, but I just think it suffers from poor production. The songs are good, but they all sound muffled and don't have that wall of sound the first two albums did." ‌ Another admirer took a more favourable view, considering it a standout, as they noted "It's the best one of the last three albums." They continued their praise, suggesting it signalled a resurgence, "It did feel like a 'return to form'. Importance of Being Idle was massive, and had a spark of clever and original songwriting again." ‌ When discussing specific songs, production value once again came under scrutiny: "A Bell Will Ring had that Beatles 'up in the sky' vibe." One critique focused on how the album has weathered over time: "The retro production, stripped back to just support the songs, was a revelation after the dreary, distortion dad rock-by-numbers approach of HC imo. However, it has aged extremely badly." ‌ One listener bluntly stated: "The production sounds like muffled sh** now, the backing elements added to each tune are laughable and sound terrible (like the backing vox on Love Like a Bomb) and Liam is doing a Liam caricature throughout. In retrospect it feels like it was all a bit of a con job, the title quite apposite." Sharing the same sentiment about the album's failure to stand the test of time, another user expressed: "I think this album is the most dated of any Oasis album tbh, it's just totally unremarkable for the most part. "The songs are fine but not spectacular and Dave Sardy's production style of this album is just dreary (much like Noel's first solo album). Any life the songs had is sucked out by Sardy's chosen approach."

Louis Tomlinson snapped squeezing Zara McDermott's bum on romantic holiday

Louis Tomlinson has been pictured putting on the PDA with his girlfriend Zara McDermott during a romantic trip in Costa Rica together, in a clear sign their romance is hotting up Singer Louis Tomlinson has been snapped getting handsy with his girlfriend Zara McDermott as their romance hots up. The singing sensation, 33, was seen playfully and affectionately grasping and patting 28 year old Zara's bottom as the pair share a romantic kiss in exclusive pictures and video obtained by the Mirror. ‌ Louis, who was recently snapped passionately kissing Zara, is seen bringing out his playful side as they enjoyed a tropical adventure in Costa Rica. They were seen browsing local spots, as the newly loved-up couple embraced and kissed. ‌ Zara looked radiant in a white strapless top and matching trousers, with a turquoise tie neck bikini under her top – ready for any adventure her romantic trip with Louis might offer. She accessorised her look with a pair of gold hoop earrings and a beige cap to cover her hair, which was tied in an adorable plait. The former Love Island beauty turned documentary-maker kept her valuables in a designer bag for the outing, which comprised of wicker-style material and leather straps. ‌ Meanwhile, Louis wore a pair of white shorts with a pastel orange top and sunglasses as he gave Zara a smooch, his tatted arm wrapped around Zara's waist as he cheekily rested his hand on her bottom and gave her a kiss, which was warmly received by Zara as she affectionately put her hand on Louis' neck. The loved-up lad looked incredibly relaxed in Zara's company as he puffed on a cigarette and struck a pose as if he was dancing. Meanwhile, it seemed the pair are enjoying being playful with one another as one photo sees Louis and Zara mucking about together – with him pretending to look serious while placing a hand on Zara's chest and extending out his arm, a move which received a big grin from smitten reality star Zara, who is seen affectionately holding Louis' wrist. ‌ The playful moment then saw the pair both descend into wide smiles, with them both grinning from ear to ear as they mucked around with one another. Later, to add to the already action-packed trip, Louis and Zara were seen hopping on a red ATV quad bike which saw the Bigger Than Me crooner take charge as he steered the vehicle while Zara sat behind him and took in the sights around her. ‌ Earlier this month it was reported Zara flew 5,000 miles to join Louis for a romantic trip while he worked on his upcoming album. It's been claimed by insiders that Louis splashed thousands for Zara to join him, flying her first class from London to Costa Rica after she attended the TV BAFTAs. The pair first struck up romance rumours earlier this year as they were photographed on a cosy date in Suffolk in March, just a few weeks after Zara's split from her long-term boyfriend Sam Thompson, who is now dating Samie Elishi. ‌ Louis and Zara then enjoyed a cosy trip together in Los Angeles, with Zara finally unveiling her romance on Instagram as the pair enjoyed a brunch date together. Since then, it appears their romance has continued to hot up as Zara is now supporting Louis in Costa Rica. But, she won't be in the stands of Old Trafford for Soccer Aid as Louis is set to play alongside Zara's ex Sam for the charity match next month.
