The Cowboys will pay him; it's just a matter of when.
"I'm just going to get mine no matter what [happens with other top pass rushers seeking deals],' Parsons said Tuesday after his camp in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, via Nick Farabaugh of pennlive.com.
Parsons became eligible for a contract extension after the 2023 season. He still is waiting, something he previously has said will cost the Cowboys more money.
'I just work harder," Parsons said of not having a deal completed yet. "Like, to me, I look at it like if people don't see your value, you don't cry and sit down. You just work harder. You got to show people your value. I just think that's, the difference, Like I go, 'OK, bet,' and I just work.'

Parsons is headed into the final year of his rookie deal scheduled to make $24 million on the fifth-year option. He is expected to become the highest-paid non-quarterback, surpassing the $40.25 million annual average of Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase.
Cleveland's Myles Garrett became the highest-paid edge rusher this offseason with a contract that averages $40 million.
Pittsburgh's T.J. Watt and Cincinnati's Trey Hendrickson, like Parsons, are awaiting contract extensions. Lions edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson became eligible for a new deal after last season, though he is coming back from a broken fibula and tibia that prematurely ended his season.
Parsons said he doesn't need to wait on any of them to know his value. He's ready to sign with the Cowboys are ready to sign him.

"They numbers got nothing to do with mine, and my numbers ain't got nothing to do with them,' Parsons said about the edge rusher market. 'Like, I'm younger than Hendrickson. I mean, Hutchinson's coming off an injury. Everyone's circumstances is completely different. Hutch is coming off his third year. Usually guys wait four years. So, it just all depends. Watt. I mean, he's up there with Myles. So, you know, it's different. Everyone's circumstance is different.'
Parsons, 26, has 52.5 sacks in his career, earning All-Pro twice and making the Pro Bowl all four seasons. He had 12 sacks and 23 quarterback hits — both career lows — in 13 games last season.

Caitlin Clark replaced by Fever teammate Lexie Hull in WNBA All-Star 3-point contest

Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull will replace teammate Caitlin Clark in the 3-point contest during WNBA All-Star weekend Friday night, the team announced Friday morning. Clark announced Thursday that she would not participate in the 3-point contest Friday or the All-Star Game on Saturday due to a right groin injury. Both events will be held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, which is the Fever's home arena. Hull is shooting 46.8 percent on 3s this season, the fourth-highest mark in the WNBA. She's drained 29 3s overall, tied with Clark for the second-most on the Fever. All-Star teammate Kelsey Mitchell leads Indiana with 49 3-pointers this year. Hull will compete against defending 3-point contest champion and Atlanta Dream All-Star Allisha Gray, Los Angeles Sparks All-Star Kelsey Plum, New York Liberty All-Star Sabrina Ionescu and Washington Mystics rookie Sonia Citron. Clark injured her right groin in the Fever's road win over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night. After making a bounce pass to Mitchell, who scored on a layup with 39.1 seconds left in the game, Clark grabbed her right groin. The Sun called a timeout after the play, and tears welled in Clark's eyes as she walked to the bench in discomfort. 'I am incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can't participate in the 3-Point Contest or the All-Star Game. I have to rest my body,' Clark said in a statement. 'I will still be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action, and I'm looking forward to helping (New York Liberty coach) Sandy (Brondello) coach our team to a win.' Clark has sustained four non-contact injuries this year, resulting in 11 missed games. She was sidelined for five games with a left quad injury, five games with a left groin injury and now one game with a right groin injury. She also missed Indiana's preseason opener due to left leg tightness. Indiana is 4-6 without Clark this season, excluding the Commissioner's Cup Championship victory that does not count toward the team's overall record. The Fever are 12-11 and in sixth place in the WNBA standings. The team's next game is Tuesday at New York. Clark, a two-time All-Star, is averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 13 games this season. Before this year, she had never missed a game in her college or pro career, making 181 straight starts across five years. 'It's a big deal to have (the) All-Star (Game) in Indianapolis, and of course, with Caitlin being a focal point of that,' Fever coach Stephanie White said. 'As the coach of the Indiana Fever, it's not a bigger deal than our long-term season, but it's also part of the fun. 'The big picture is most important for her health and wellness long-term and for our team.' This article originally appeared in The Athletic. Indiana Fever, WNBA 2025 The Athletic Media Company

NFLPA's Lloyd Howell resigns amid controversies, cites 'distraction'

July 18 (UPI) -- Lloyd Howell announced his resigned from his role as NFLPA executive director amid multiple controversies, which surfaced through reporting in recent months. Howell said it was clear that his "leadership has become a distraction to the important work" of the union. He informed the union's executive committee Thursday night that he was stepping down, effective immediately. "Two years ago, I accepted the role of executive director of the NFLPA because I believe deeply in the mission of this union and the power of collective action to drive positive change for the players of America's most popular sport," Howell said in a statement. "Our members deserve a union that will fight relentlessly for their health, safety, financial futures, and long-term well-being. My priority has been to lead that fight by serving this union with focus and dedication. "It's clear that my leadership has become a distraction to the important work the NFLPA advances every day. For this reason, I have informed the NFLPA executive committee that I am stepping down as executive director of the NFLPA and chairman of the board of NFL Players effective immediately. I hope this will allow the NFLPA to maintain its focus on its player members ahead of the upcoming season. "I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish at the NFLPA over the past two years. I will be rooting for the players from the sidelines as loud as ever and I know the NFLPA will continue to ensure that players remain firmly at the center of football's future. The union sent a message to its membership stating that Howell informed them of his resignation. "This evening, Lloyd Howell informed us that he is stepping down as executive director of the union," the message said. "We accepted his resignation and are grateful for his service. The board will convene as soon as possible for a meeting on next steps and will be in touch with our membership soon." Last month, the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast obtained a 61-page arbitration report, which included a ruling by an independent arbitrator stating that there was insufficient evidence to prove collusion by NFL team owners to prevent players from receiving fully-guaranteed contracts. However, that report also included findings that the league encouraged owners to "reduce guarantees in future contracts with players" at a March 22 annual league meeting. The union is appealing that ruling. ESPN, the Washington Post The Athletic later reported that the league and union reached an agreement to keep the findings of the report confidential. Those outlets also reported that Howell was working as a "paid, part-time consultant" for The Carlyle Group at the same time he worked as head of the players' union. The Carlyle Group is a private equity firm that the NFL approved to seek minority ownership of its franchises, which could have led to a potential conflict of interest for Howell. Howell also was named in additional reporting, from the aforementioned outlets, for his alleged role in a scandal while he worked as chief financial officer for Booz Allen, a technology consulting firm, prior to his NFLPA tenure. That reporting stated that Howell was among executives notified that the firm had overcharged the federal government for months during their business dealings. The U.S. Justice Department announced in July 2023 that Booz Allen paid a $377 million settlement ruling in a lawsuit stemming from that matter. The settlement announcement came about a month after Howell was hired as the NFLPA's executive director. Howell also was sued in 2011 for sexual discrimination and retaliation while at Booz Allen. That lawsuit was later settled, but two player representatives who voted for Howell to serve as union director told ESPN earlier this week that they were unaware of the matter at the time of the vote. Other player representatives disputed those accounts in separate interviews with ESPN. The union announced on June 28, 2023 that Howell would succeed DeMaurice Smith as executive director. Smith held the role from 2009 to 2023. He was re-elected for a fifth and final term in 2021.
