Quaker Steak & Lube Summer Carnival kicks off

SHARON, Pa. (WKBN)- Thursday is the start of Quaker Steak & Lube Summer Carnival in Sharon. This is the second year it's hosting this event. This event is named Coops Carnival. It's a Chicken4Charity event that raises money for various community causes, and it plans to grow bigger every year. There's plenty of new activities at this year's event, including chicken bingo, kids chicken calling contest, winner winner chicken dinner raffle, community bingo, a dunk tank, and new midway rides. There will also be games and concessions. The restaurant will also be open to those who wish to walk in. Organizers say this event is unique because of the number of nonprofits invited to help raise funds for their cause. 'You're going to see a lot of different faces and representatives of places in our community that you can come down and support them. We're serving as the hub as this main venue that you can come and enjoy all of those and support many different businesses and organizations in our community,' said Taylor Sherman of Quaker Steak & Lube. Chicken wings are one of the most popular foods at Quaker Steak so you can expect plenty of chicken-themed activities. This includes Cock-a-doodle Brew House, which will be a wine and beer garden; a chicken-themed ride; and Quaker Steak's mascot, Coop, will be at the event. On top of rides, games, and food, there will be entertainment that will be on hand. There will be live music today through Saturday, including Tarra Layne from season 11 of The Voice, who will be performing tomorrow night at 7 p.m. A DJ will be coming in on Sunday to entertain the crowd. Organizers say the weather will not get in their way of the fun this weekend and say it's going to be a good time for anyone who stops by. 'We're expecting to have a great turnout, hoping that the weather holds off for us, and works in our favor. But we're not planning to have any rain that slows us down from our fun. So this being a four-day event, we know that there will be plenty of graduations happening, summer events kicking off. So any day that may fit your schedule, we have something for you,' Sherman said. The event kicks off today and will run through Sunday. The festivities will start at 5 p.m. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. ‘It's A Rush. It's Traumatic.' Ballerina's Director Discusses The Surprise Reaction Ana De Armas Had The First Time She Set Someone On Fire With A Flamethrower

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. When you see a gun firing in a movie, it is loaded with blanks. When you see a knife stabbing somebody, it's either rubber or plastic. Flamethrowers, on the other hand, are a whole different deal. While some productions opt for CGI, the truth is that there is a big on-screen difference between real fire and fire that's digitally created, and no genius has yet to invent fire that doesn't hurt/burn. The blaze-spurting weapons are serious business, which is why I am in no way surprised that Ana de Armas had a very emotional reaction using one during the making of Ballerina. As previewed in the trailers for the John Wick side-quel, there is an extended sequence in Ballerina where protagonist Eve Macarro straps on a flamethrower and goes on a mini rampage torching a bunch of dudes – and that's basically what de Armas had to do on set. The people that she was setting on fire were trained and experienced stunt performers who were prepared for said torching with extreme safety at front of mind, but even just practicing for the scene left the star in tears. Speaking about using the extreme weapon during a long lead press day earlier this spring, director Len Wiseman told me, They're scary in such a fun way... I tested it out and the amount of power that it feels behind it. And I remember, I tested it out before so I could tell Ana that it's safe and I've done it. And I got a report and the guys were testing with her when she actually had to actually test flaming somebody. And first attempt, she cried because it's horrifying, you know? Back in late March, I had the great pleasure of joining a small group of journalists for a special experience at 87Eleven headquarters in Los Angeles, and after a training session that saw us learn how to perform the moves in one of the key action sequences in Ballerina, I had the chance to speak with Wiseman about the process of making the film. Having personal experience being on a set where a flamethrower was used, I asked about the tension that the dangerous weapon can create. Wiseman explained that it was definitely a freaky experience for Ana de Armas to purposefully set a person on fire, but once she got past her first taste of it, her mood changed: And then after that, she was really down with it, really cool. She flamed, like, I don't even remember how many people. But imagine you're testing it out and flaming somebody and they're screaming in front of you and you're lighting them on fire. It's a rush. It's traumatic. If you're excited to witness Ana de Armas setting a whole bunch of people on fire, the best news I can offer you is that Ballerina is almost here. Featuring an outstanding ensemble cast including Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, the late Lance Reddick, and John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves, the new action film arrives in theaters everywhere on June 6.

Pusha T Addresses Drake's UMG Lawsuit Over Kendrick Lamar's 'Not Like Us'

Pusha T is, once again, making his stance clear when it comes to his longtime rival, Drake—this time in light of the rapper's recent lawsuit against Universal Music Group. The legal action, sparked by Kendrick Lamar's scathing 'Not Like Us' diss track, has prompted reactions across the Hip-Hop community, but Pusha isn't holding back. In a new profile with GQ, the Virginia Beach native shared his blunt reaction to Drake's decision to take legal action, questioning what it means for his place in rap culture. 'I don't rate him no more,' Pusha said of Drake. 'The suing thing is bigger than some rap sh*t. I just don't rate you. Damn, it's like it just kind of cheapens the art of it once we gotta have real questions about suing and litigation. Like, what? For this?' Though critical of the lawsuit, Pusha did acknowledge that Drake may have a legitimate case, subtly referencing how his own 2018 diss, 'The Story of Adidon,' was allegedly suppressed by UMG. Still, as for reigniting their lyrical feud, Pusha appears unmoved. 'I think after everything that had been done, I don't think there was ever anything subliminal to be said ever again in life. Not only just musically, like bro, I actually was in Canada. I actually had a show and made it home,' he said, before adding: 'So, I can't pay attention to none of that. I did the dance for real, not to come back and tip-toe around anything.' Elsewhere in the article, Pusha touched on his fallout with Ye West, as well as he and his brother No Malice's forthcoming Clipse album, set to drop this summer. Speaking of Drake, the rapper recently made music history, becoming the artist with the most Diamond-certified singles ever, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). With the recent elevation of 'Hold On, We're Going Home' and 'Best I Ever Had' to Diamond status—each representing 10 million units sold or streamed—Drake now holds an unprecedented 10 Diamond singles. The hitmaker surpassed both Post Malone and Garth Brooks, who previously shared the top spot with nine a piece.
