6 Shows You'd Probably Forgotten Love Is Blind UK Host Emma Willis Once Fronted
Emma Willis has now been a staple on British TV for more than 20 years. The Birmingham-born presenter was previously best known for hosting shows like Big Brother, The Voice and The Circle – until she and her husband Matt Willis began fronting Netflix's UK iteration of Love Is Blind, that is. While you've probably watched her on some of the UK's biggest reality shows over the years (not to mention This Morning, where she's become a regular face), there are plenty of other presenting gigs throughout her extensive resume you might have completely forgotten about. Here are the ones we dug through the archives to find, in honour of Love Is Blind UK's second season... The Hot Desk (2008-2014) Emma got her start on music TV in the early 2000s, presenting segments for MTV as well as the UK version of the iconic TRL. In, Emma joined another British music show called The Hot Desk, whose other hosts included the likes of All Saints' Nicole Appleton and Melanie Blatt, Laura Whitmore, Sarah Jane Crawford and Alice Levine. At the end of each interview, they'd asked the featured celebrity to sign the 'Hot Desk' with a pen (isn't that just oh-so 2010s?). One of Emma's biggest interviews was with a young and bright-eyed One Direction in 2011, a year after they came third on The X Factor. Live From Studio Five (2010) In the heyday of gossip mags and celebrity interview panels, there were plenty of shows out there like Live From Studio Five. Emma joined a line-up of co-presenters – including Brian Dowling and Ian Wright – who would conduct interviews and discuss topical issues, celebrity gossip and big news stories. However it didn't do too well with ratings, and ultimately came off the air after around a year and a half. Girlfri3nds (2012) Even as far back as 2012, Emma was clearly discovering that she had a bit of a knack when it came to reality TV. She presented two seasons of this British show about single women looking for love. The format saw three single women search for their ideal guy out of 100 auditioning men. It sounds like this was good practice for when she'd get the call from Love Is Blind all these years later. Prize Island (2013) Emma co-presented this sunny series alongside Alexander Armstrong back in 2013. Prize Island placed four pairs on an Island (obv) off the coast of Mozambique, with each team participating in rounds of games to uncover prizes, ranging from a TV to a luxury holiday. At the time, there were reports that it might not air at all, after it looked set to rival (ironically) The Voice. The show ultimately only last six episodes across one season. The Brit Awards (2017) Do you remember that time Emma hosted a whole Brit Awards? Honestly, we'd kind of forgotten too. Back in 2017 she took to the stage for the UK's biggest night in music alongside co-host Dermot O'Leary. Dermot and Emma were brought in as somewhat last-minute replacements when the night's original host, Michael Bublé, was forced to back out due to his son's illness. That year's Brits saw One Direction, Little Mix, The 1975 and more take home awards. Emma Willis: Delivering Babies (2019) This one marked a huge change for the presenter as she swapped reality TV and game shows for a hospital maternity unit. Across the course of four seasons, she worked on a labour ward working NHS hours while training to be a maternity care assistant. Whether she was making beds, cleaning floors or offering support during births, it made for pretty emotional viewing. The first four episodes of Love Is Blind UK season two are streaming now on Netflix. UMG chief Lucian Grainge calls Drake's ‘Not Like Us' lawsuit ‘ridiculous'
Universal Music Group Chief Executive Lucian Grainge called Drake's lawsuit over Kendrick Lamar's hit diss track 'Not Like Us' a 'farcical' effort that's 'groundless and indeed ridiculous.' In a declaration letter filed Thursday night in the Southern District of New York, Grainge said that Drake's accusation that UMG (the parent label firm to both Drake and Lamar) defamed him and damaged his career 'makes no sense due to the fact that the company that I run, Universal Music Group N.V., has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in Drake, including longstanding and critical financial support for his recording career, the purchase and ownership of the bulk of his recording catalog, and the purchase of his music publishing rights.' Drake signed a new deal with UMG label Republic in 2022 for a reported $400 million, and he's one of the bestselling artists of the last 20 years. Yet Interscope artist Lamar's scathing 'Not Like Us' famously capped a venomous battle between the two artists, which resulted in a pair of Grammy wins for Lamar, who performed the song at the Super Bowl halftime show. Drake's attorneys, in discovery, have recently tried to obtain UMG's contract with Lamar and information about his personal life (Drake accused Lamar of beating his partner in the song 'Family Matters'). Drake has accused UMG of both defamation and running a clandestine campaign to boost 'Not Like Us' at the expense of his own reputation and career. A notably exasperated Grainge wrote to the court that 'Given my role, I am accustomed (and unfortunately largely resigned) to personal attacks, and I further recognize that a frequent strategy of UMG's litigation opponents is to attempt to waste my and UMG's time and resources with discovery of the sort that Drake is seeking here — either in an attempt to gain media attention or in an effort to force some kind of commercial renegotiation or financial concessions.' Grainge also denied having any personal involvement in the rollout or marketing for 'Not Like Us.' 'Whilst, as part of my role, I certainly have financial oversight of and responsibility for UMG's global businesses,' he said, 'the proposition that I was involved in, much less responsible for, reviewing and approving the content of 'Not Like Us,' its cover art or music video, or for determining or directing the promotion of those materials, is groundless and indeed ridiculous.' In a separate letter to the court, UMG said that 'The premise of Drake's motion — that he could not have lost a rap battle unless it was the product of some imagined secret conspiracy going to the top of UMG's corporate structure — is absurd.'

Trending On The Timeline: Offset Acknowledges Mistakes; Drake Heats Up Legal Feud with UMG
Source: ione nicole thomas / IONE, VIA NICOLE THOMAS On DJ Misses' latest segment of Trending on the Timeline , two major moments grabbed attention. First, Offset took a moment of public accountability for his well-documented marital issues with Cardi B. With humility, he admitted his faults, saying, 'I messed up,' and acknowledged the importance of respecting those you care about and making amends. DJ Misses applauded Offset for addressing his mistakes publicly, noting that when issues unfold in the spotlight, addressing them openly reinforces character. While opinions online were split—ranging from cheers of support to skepticism—it was clear that Offset's transparency sparked a much-needed dialogue about growth and accountability. The second story spotlighted Drake and his intensifying defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group. Drake's legal team is escalating their demands, filing motions for 75 sets of documents, including sensitive records related to allegations of violence involving Kendrick Lamar, his close collaborator Day Free, and even Kendrick's contractual agreements with UMG. This development signals how far Drake is willing to go to back his claims and hold the label accountable. DJ Misses highlighted the growing tension, which fans and industry insiders are watching closely as it could redefine artist-label dynamics moving forward. SEE ALSO
