Witney cinema issues Minecraft warning after online trend
A cinema has told customers to behave during showings of A Minecraft Movie after rowdy behaviour at other screenings went viral on social media.A sign displayed at Cineworld in Witney, Oxfordshire, has warned people any form of anti-social behaviour would see them removed without a refund.The film, which received underwhelming reviews from critics, made an estimated $300m (£233m) globally at the box office on its opening weekend.Its popularity has spread online, with videos of young audience members shouting responses and celebrating the appearance of different characters made famous by the video game - which is one of the world's best selling.
The film tells the story of four misfits pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld – the place where all players start in Minecraft.A number of lines from star Jack Black - in particular his introductory "I... am Steve" - have been met with cheering, shouting and applause.One moment showing the arrival of the character Chicken Jockey - alongside Black's accompanying dialogue - has also been the focal point for much of the furore.
The notice in at Cineworld in Witney reads: "Any form of anti-social behaviour, especially anything that may disturb other guests such as loud screaming, clapping and shouting will not be tolerated."Anyone who is found to be acting in this manner will be removed from the screening and not entitled to a refund."The BBC has contacted Cineworld to find out if there had been particular issues at the branch.
The behaviour has been compared to 2022's #gentleminions trend - which saw large groups of young people attending screenings of Minions: The Rise of Gru in suits.Cinemas were forced to outlaw viewers wearing suits during showings due to their rowdy behaviour - with some saying they had to give huge numbers of refunds.

ITV soap Emmerdale has announced yet another fresh face to the village - with actor Joe Absolom set to be joining the cast this summer in a dark upcoming storyline There's another fresh face expected in Emmerdale this year. The ITV soap has just announced that acclaimed actor, Joe Absolom, will be joining the cast this summer, playing Ray, an old contact of Mackenzies. I can't wait to see what's in stock for Ray!' As for his upcoming storyline, the soap have revealed that the character, like many others, will have a dark side. Ray will arrive at the farm claiming to be selling farm machinery but it won't be long before his true drug dealing ways become clear. Despite Ray's calm and collected exterior, it's clear a menacing streak hides just below the surface. The cast and crew are thrilled to have John on board, as Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw said: 'We are thrilled to welcome Joe Absolom to the cast. It's fantastic to have such a high calibre and immensely talented actor join our wonderful team to play the role of Ray. "Charming, charismatic and effortlessly likeable, Ray is an extremely complex character who very quickly shows his dark and villainous side to some of our most loved villagers, leaving them in no doubt as to what he's capable of'. Earlier this year, the soap welcomed Celebrity Big Brother star Bradley Riches as Lewis Barton. It was announced in March that Bradley, 23, known for his role on Netflix 's Heartstopper, had joined the cast of the long-running soap opera, and has now become Emmerdale's first openly neurodivergent character. As well as new faces, the soap has also introduced one very familiar face back to the village. This week, fans were left in shock when R yan Hawley reprised his role as Robert Sudgden, crashing his ex husband Aaron Dingle's wedding. In an interview with Lorraine, the star teased his character was back to "win Aaron back and bring down John Sugden." Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.

Strictly couple sign up for huge TV show after moving in together
Strictly Come Dancing stars, Molly Rainford and Tyler West, have reportedly filmed the new series of the BBC's gruelling travel show, Celebrity Race Across the World Strictly Come Dancing lovers Molly Rainford and Tyler West have signed up for Celebrity Race Across the World, according to reports. The EastEnders star, 24, and Kiss FM presenter, 29, who met on the BBC dance show in 2022, are said to have already filmed the smash-hit series in which a bunch of plucky celebrities pit their wits against each other while navigating around the globe. The last series of gruelling travel show, in which the rich and famous are not allowed to use mobile phones - or book flights - aired last August and saw stars, including Kelly Brook, Scott Mills, Jeff Brazier and Kola Bokinni race across South America. Lifting the lid on the programme's latest recruits, a source said: "Molly and Tyler are a huge coup for the show. They're popular with millions of viewers from their stints on Strictly, and Molly will bring in loads of EastEnders fans too." They continued in The Sun: "They are a very adventurous pair and have brilliant chemistry, so bosses are confident they will become huge fan favourites.' When contacted by the Mirror about the reports, the BBC declined to comment. Molly and Tyler moved in together last year after meeting on Strictly when Molly was paired with dance professional Carlos Gu and made it to the final, and Tyler was paired with Aussie, Dianne Buswell. It wasn't until the live tour earlier in 2023 that their relationship blossomed into something more, but since then, things have gone from strength to strength. Speaking to MailOnline, Molly said: "We are good and going strong and are actually moving in together - we're just going through, you know dining tables and sofas and all that kind of stuff, it's exciting." Praising his partner for her attention to detail, Tyler confessed: "Molly's turned into a whole interior designer so I'm just taking a complete back seat!" Tyler began his presenting career on CBBC before being snapped up by Kiss FM for his very own show. Meanwhile, EastEnders star Molly, who was cast as Anna Knight - daughter of George Knight (Colin Salmon) and Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) - in the BBC soap in 2023, rose to fame for her performance on Britain's Got Talent when she was just 11 years old. Craig David admits health battle saw him plummet into a 'dark place'
Singing sensation Craig David admitted his excessive exercise regime left him with a serious injury that effected his mental health as he believed life 'wasn't worth living' Craig David became a pin-up for most women around the world during his hey day as an award winning music artist. And it wasn't just his catchy songs that earned him a legion of fans, his sculpted appearance also played a major part. But now, it has emerged that his desperation to maintain a toned physique saw him develop an obsession with exercise which soon spiralled out of control. His intense work out regimes resulted in a serious back injury in 2017, leaving him on the brink of depression. At the peak of his intense workouts, the 44 year old singer had only 4.5 per cent body fat. According to the World Health Organisation a healthy body fat percentage for a man under 40 years old, which was his age at the time, is between eight and 20 per cent. Even an athlete at the peak of their career would generally not have a body fat percentage less than six per cent. In a recent interview, Craig said that his obsession had a major impact on his social life as it made him avoid seeing friends. He told The Times: "I was cancelling going out with friends because I was like, 'Nah, I've got to do my cardio tonight.' What life was that? I'm not a body builder." Craig then suffered an excruciating back injury in 2017 which left him depressed as he found himself unable to continue his workouts. The music star's injury "involved a degenerative disc." Recalling his injury he told the publication: "My world was closing in. I needed to get rid of the pain and I went to a dark place where I thought, 'I don't think I'm going to make it.'" Craig soon spiralled out of control and while he did not experience suicide thoughts, his depression made him feel as though he had nothing to live for. He explained: "I never got to the point where I was thinking of ways to end this but I thought life wasn't worth living and I would be happier if I wasn't here any more." The singer has now turned his life around and is practicing celibacy. The star has also written a book titled What's Your Vibe, which aims to dispel the myth that life as a celebrity is "glitzy and perfect." He has also shared details of his battle with his body image when he appeared in the BBC documentary Imposter Syndrome. While appearing on the programme, he opened up on how he'd ended up experiencing body dysmorphia. In the documentary, he said: "I was down to like 4.5% body fat and I'm still thinking, 'if I can just get it down that… which is a very, body-building, like, lifestyle. "But now, sitting here, I feel like I had to go back to the little kid who is carrying a bit of weight, [who was] the shoulder to cry on and be like, 'you know what, you always had everything that you could have ever had wanted'. It was never about the body."
