A Poet, by Colombian filmmaker Simón Mesa Soto, won the Jury Prize. The film is Soto's second feature, and it follows Oscar Restrepo, whose obsession with poetry brought him no glory. Aging and erratic, he has succumbed to the cliché of the poet in the shadows. Meeting Yurlady, a teenage girl from humble roots, and helping her cultivate her talent brings some light to his days, but dragging her into the world of poets may not be the way.
Best Screenplay went to Pillion, the debut feature from British filmmaker Harry Lighton. The film stars Harry Melling as a timid young gay man named Colin who comes into his sexuality when a biker named Ray (Alexander Skarsgård) takes him on as his sexual submissive.
Best Director went to Palestinian filmmakers Tarzan and Arab Nasser for Once Upon a Time in Gaza while the Performance Awards went to Cléo Diara for I Only Rest in the Storm and Frank Dillane for the Harris Dickinson-directed Urchin.
This year's jury was presided over by UK director, screenwriter, and cinematographer Molly Manning Walker, who was joined by French-Swiss director and screenwriter Louise Courvoisier, Croatian director of the International Film Festival Rotterdam Vanja Kaludjercic, Italian director, producer, and screenwriter Roberto Minervini, and Argentinian actor Nahuel Pérez Biscayart.

"She's Got No Name" unveils first official poster

6 Jun - Two years after the first announcement, Peter Chan's "She's Got No Name" finally unveiled the first official poster for the first part of the movie. The poster reveals the looks of all the cast for the first time, sparking interests of fans who mostly commented that all of the actors seemed unrecognisable and are truly immersed in their characters. This includes lead actress Zhang Ziyi, whose character has scars covering her face; Yang Mi looking dishevelled in her character as a female prisoner, Jackson Yee in shades and equipped with a cane as a blind fortune teller, as well as Zanilia Zhao, looking glamorous as a writer. Fans also couldn't help but notice that both Zanilia and Yang Mi are placed on each side of the poster. The decision seemed to be a way to avoid the fandom of both actresses from arguing on who is the bigger star. Since the film debuted in the non-competitive section of the Cannes Film Festival last year, there has been no further news until it was recently announced as the opening film of the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival. What is noteworthy is that the film has recently been announced to be divided into two parts, the first of which has the Chinese title of "Jiangyuan Lane: Mystery". Russell Simmons Sues HBO For $20M Over ‘On The Record' Doc

Russell Simmons has launched a lawsuit against HBO for $20 million over the release of the 2020 documentary, On The Record , which detailed a number of he mogul's sexual assault allegations. Simmons also named the filmmakers behind the production of the documentary. Russell Simmons, 67, filed the lawsuit in a Manhattan court on Tuesday (June 3), naming HBO and On The Record direcctors, Amy Ziering and Kirby Dick as reported by Deadline . In the summons that was filed in court, Simmons' lawyer Imran Ansari laid out their offensive move. 'Despite voluminous support for Mr Simmons in the form of credible information, persuasive evidence, witness statements, and calls for further investigation by notable members of the media, politics, and the civil rights movement, the defendants simply disregarded it, and released, and continue to re-release globally, a film that tremendously disparaged and damaged Mr Simmons with salacious and defamatory accusations that he vehemently denies,' Ansari and co-counsel Carla DiMare shared in a statement. Although the statute of limitations for defamation has long since expired, Simmons and his team are hoping to move things in their favor because the documentary was shown in the global market, thus resetting the timeline. HBO sidestepped the lawsuit, calling it unfounded according to Deadline 's report. 'We dispute Mr. Simmons' allegations, stand by the filmmakers and their process, and will vigorously defend ourselves against these unfounded allegations,' a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Discovery shared with the outlet. Russell Simmons' team claims that evidence could potentially alter the timeline of events and give new weight to the Def Jam Records co-founder's stance that the dozens of women who allege that he assaulted them are selling a falsehood. — Photo: Matt Winkelmeyer / Getty SEE ALSO Russell Simmons Sues HBO For $20M Over 'On The Record' Doc was originally published on Black America Web Featured Video CLOSE

Kilgore's character is Taylor, 'a firefighter and incredible singer.' Provost is Ryan, 'a modern-day cowboy and firefighter.'Feliz is Cammi, 'an adrenaline junkie and former trauma surgeon.' And McVey is Blue, 'a haunted bad boy, now a firefighter.' 20th Television is the studio, and the series is produced in association with Ryan Murphy Television, with Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani writing and exec producing. Raisani is the showrunner. Chris O'Donnell, Brad Buecker, Brad Falchuk, and Angela Bassett are additional executive producers.
