Preparing for St. Patrick's Day celebrations
If you can't make it downtown to watch the 45th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, you can watch the action live in the video player attached above. The parade starts at 2 p.m. and KELOLAND Media Group will have a camera at the State Theatre following the parade along Phillips Avenue.
According to Downtown Sioux Falls, the parade runs on Phillips Avenue from 13th Street to 5th Street. All streets adjacent to the parade route will close at 1:30 p.m. and the painting of the shamrock will happen at 11 a.m. on Phillips Avenue between 9th and 10th Street in front of First National Bank.

Shawn Cleary, who joined the St. Patrick's Day Extravaganza Committee 16 years ago, will serve as grand marshal.
'We've marched in everything over the years: rain, sleet, snow, 70 degrees, t-shirts, so we're hardy people. We'll figure it out,' Cleary told KELOLAND News earlier this week.

Brian Harman (65) makes move in second round of British Open
Not that anyone was complaining. Temperatures were warm, at least by Irish standards. The breeze was noticeable without being overly punishing. 'They're very different golf courses, but the golf is similar,' Harman said. 'You've got to be able to flight your golf ball. You've got to know how far everything's going. Then you can't get frustrated. You're going to end up in funny spots where it doesn't seem fair, and you just have to kind of outlast that stuff.' 'I feel like my game's definitely good enough to make a run.' Scottie Scheffler played in the afternoon. He hit his shot down the middle of the fairway, his next one to 6 feet, his third one in the hole for a birdie. And then out came the umbrellas and some of the heaviest rain of the week. It lasted only a few holes. Harman had a five-shot lead after 36 holes at Hoylake when he won in 2023, and he wound up winning by six with a game so steady that no one made a serious run at him. He is likely to have a little more company this time around. But his game looked to be as superb as ever. He was putting for birdie on just about every hole. He was never out of position. Harman opened with an approach to 3 feet on the first hole and drilled his second shot on the par-5 second to 18 feet for a tap-in birdie. He finished with another dandy, an approach to 8 feet on the 18th hole. 'I'm not trying to be heroic or do anything crazy. I know that I've got the game to do it, and it's just a matter of executing and staying in my own head,' Harman said. Advertisement Among those chasing is Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley, making yet another case that he could be the first American playing captain the Ryder Cup since 1963. Bradley is coming off a win at the Travelers Championship. Now he appears to be finally figuring out links golf. Bradley has missed the cut the last five times and his best finish in 11 appearances is a tie for 15th in 2013 at Muirfield. He shot 67, a round that began with a 5-wood to 18 feet for eagle on the second hole that Bradley said was among the best shots he has hit this year. 'It was nice because I really wanted to play the weekend for the first time in, like, years,' Bradley said. 'But I also wanted to play well enough to get myself in position, so that was a great start to the round.'

Storm Center PM Update: Severe Weather Chances Return
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It has been a warmer day for KELOLAND with much more sunshine. We got the chance to dry out East River after significant rainfall over the last few days. We aren't quite done with the unsettled weather though as an incoming trough will bring the chance for thunderstorms late this afternoon and through the overnight hours. A majority of KELOLAND is in a slight risk for severe weather and all hazards are possible with any supercell storms that fire up. Make sure to stay weather aware and keep an eye out on our social media pages for updates. The recent model outputs shows scattered thunderstorms in North Dakota potentially forming a line and moving southeast, the main threat would then shift towards severe wind gusts. There is a chance the line could clip northeastern KELOLAND overnight. Besides the thunderstorm chances, most of us will see partly cloudy skies with lows in the 60s. Going into tomorrow, the heat will become more widespread with highs in the 80s and 90s. Dew point values will be in the 60s and 70s East River, this means heat index values could be close to the triple digits. Overall, it will be a quiet day and the atmosphere will try to recharge. As a cold front moves through, there will be more energy for thunderstorms to form during the evening. The conditions will likely form storms in clusters and the activity West River will move into East River overnight. Another slight risk of severe weather is in store for most of KELOLAND with the main hazards being damaging wind gusts and hail. We will take a break from rain chances at the beginning of next week as a high pressure system settles in. The three-match series was due to begin at Bready on Thursday with subsequent meetings scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
