Writing in to the Girls Overheard podcast, she revealed how her heartbreak turned into a tale of good fortune.
Podcast host Eilidh Wells was tasked with reading out the anonymous message on the show, co-hosted by Ash Reid and Lauren Fairbairn.
It read: "My ex accidentally gave me £10,000 when I dumped him.
"I found out that he'd been messaging a few of my closest friends trying to fire into them.
"He denied it but the relationship was over so I went to his house to collect my stuff later that day.
"It was actually the day before my birthday. So with my big bag of stuff, he also handed me my birthday present with this icky sad look on his face like I'd suddenly change my mind."
She continued: "I got home and opened it and realised that he'd put a scratchcard in with my birthday card.
"Girls, I won 10 grand. What a sign from the universe.
My cheating ex threatened to rob me and have my house 'ran through' with my kids in it - but I got the ultimate revenge
"Text him saying thanks and never spoke to him again. Used it as a deposit for a new house and started a whole new life."
The Girls Overheard trio were left stunned by the revelation and hailed it as the perfect parting gift.
Ash then joked: "Dream come true, here's a new life."
And social media users are just as invested in the situation, with the clip racking up 99,000 views.

'She wanted to go on it but it was already full, there were too many people because her mates and boyfriend were on that one. 'I just feel incredibly grateful that she wasn't. I got phoned when I was still at work saying have you picked up Emily yet because something terrible has happened. 'It's every parent's nightmare, it's absolutely awful. I had constant messages and phone calls checking Emily was ok. People were panicking.' An off-duty firefighter travelling behind a Somerset school coach which overturned was able to save the lives of children by immediately starting to free them minutes after the collision, it emerged yesterday evening. Emergency services rushed to the remote rural location, where one child was pronounced dead at the scene, while 21 others were taken to hospital with various injuries. One card said: 'Thinking of everyone at this heart breaking and devastating time. Our community is holding you all tight and surrounding you with love..' Another read: 'Our hearts are broken but we stand strong to support you at this most difficult time.' 'RIP little one, fly high with the angels.' Among those arriving to pay tribute was Karin White who said: 'It's a bit of a shock. We know the area where the coach tumbled over the hill. From the aerial view you can see it's all wooded and it's terrible.' Meghan White also said from the scene: 'I used to travel there daily to go to work. It's easy to forget how steep it is down the side of the banks. She knows one of the adults who was on the bus but she said they are ok. 'I was very shocked. I reached out to all my friends and family and people who go to the school just to see if they had anyone involved and if they need any help. 'It's incredible that everyone has came out to pay tribute.' One of the school's teachers posted on Facebook: 'My amazing students, I couldn't be prouder of all of you, how incredibly brave you have been. She told BBC Breakfast the coach was coming from Exmoor Zoo, when it came off the road and went down a 20ft slope, adding that it was 'pretty catastrophic'. Asked about the area, Ms Gilmour said: 'It's a very difficult road, very, very steep, very windy, and it's just the nature of rural roads in my constituency, you know, Minehead famously, only has one road that takes you into it on the A39 and if you're coming from where I live in Bampton or across the Moor, those are the roads that you have to use.' Thomas Partey: Ex-Arsenal player charged with rape to appear in court today
Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is due to appear in court today, charged with raping two women. The 32-year-old, who was charged four days after leaving the north London club when his contract expired back in June, faces five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. He is accused of two counts of rape against one woman and three counts against another. The sexual assault allegation relates to a third woman, the Crown Prosecution Service has said. The alleged offences took place between 2021 and 2022. The Metropolitan Police said it first received reports of an allegation of rape in February 2022. Partey's lawyer Jenny Wiltshire has previously said the Ghanaian "denies all the charges against him" - and looks forward to the chance to "finally clear his name". Partey joined Arsenal from Spanish side Atletico Madrid in 2020 and became a regular for manager Mikel Arteta, who last month said he was "100% sure" the club followed the correct protocols. An Arsenal spokesperson previously said: "The player's contract ended on 30 June. Due to ongoing legal proceedings, the club is unable to comment on the case."
