Instant karma for suspected shoplifter chased and caught in the street by police on toy store bikes
A suspected shoplifter received instant karma when he was taken down by two police officers on bicycles manufactured by a toy store. The footage, shared by the Havering branch of the Metropolitan Police, shows the man leaving the Marks & Spencer store in The Liberty Shopping Centre, Romford, east London, with a basket full of seemingly stolen goods. Wearing a checked blue shirt with denim shorts and white trainers, the suspected thief then appears to notice he is being tailed by one officer and begins running away from them while holding the basket. Looking to cross the road, the man then runs straight into the path of the other officer, whose oncoming bike he collides with. Shouts of 'Alright, mate, stop where you are,' and 'Police. Stop where you are now,' can be heard before he is apprehended, his basket whittling away as he is brought down. Prior to being caught, CCTV footage in the store, captured at around 1pm on June 10, shows the man packing items such as bacon into his basket. It is unknown what else he appears to have stolen or the total value of the basket, but alternate angles of him leaving the shop show the basket to be much fuller than just one packet of meat. Posting the video to X, Havering MPS hailed the apprehension of the man as 'community policing in action' which helps 'keep local people and businesses safe'. Looking to cross the road, the suspected thief then runs straight into the path of the other officer, whose oncoming bike he collides with before being apprehended They also revealed that the bikes were donated by Romford Business Improvement District (BID) after being built by Smyths Toys. They said: 'Romford BID donated the bikes. Smyths Toys built them. We used them to stop shoplifting.' Last September, officers announced that they would be using the bikes, first manufactured by the toy store, as part of a crackdown on anti-social behaviour and theft in Romford. Sgt Aaron Harris, of the Romford Town Centre policing team, said plain-clothed officers using the bikes would increase their chances of stopping crime. He added: 'Crime in our town centre will not be tolerated and anyone committing crimes against local people, visitors or business will be seeing us soon. 'We will continue to use every resource available to us to make Romford town centre unattractive to criminals.' He also thanked Julie Frost, the director of Romford BID, who said: 'I truly hope this initiative helps visitors and our community feel safer, knowing that steps are being taken to address anti-social behaviour and prevent crime. 'By working together with the local police force, we're committed to restoring confidence and making Romford a welcoming and enjoyable place to live, work, and visit.' MailOnline has approached the Metropolitan Police and Smyths Toys for more information.

Instant karma! Road rage thug gets his comeuppance when he attacks motorist… who is a Muay Thai boxer
A thug suffered instant karma when he started a fight with a motorist, who turned out to be an experienced Muay Thai boxer. The man squared up to Peerapat Ngamsilapakorn, who he nearly grazed while allegedly speeding without headlights on in Bangkok last Friday. Peerapat's terrified girlfriend tried to diffuse tensions as the aggressive man walked up to Peerapat and began insulting him. Footage shows the thug throwing the first blow at Peerapat, which he blocked with an arm and backed away, before unleashing a flurry of punches at his opponent and knocking him to the ground within seconds. An enraged Peerapat kicked him several times and put him in a headlock before passers-by intervened. He then lodged a complaint with the Sai Mai Police Station. A police spokesman said: 'The complainant said he was heading to the convenience store and had his turn signal on, but the other man on the motorcycle came without headlights and nearly hit him. 'As seen in the clip, the attacker walked over, started cursing, and threw the first punch. The complainant said he retaliated in self-defence.' Peerapat said his opponent allegedly threatened him not to press charges, and challenged him to a rematch despite being wiped out. He said: 'I am a very calm person and never pick a fight with anyone. However, when you were being bold and loud to me, how can I yield? Everyone taught me not to concede easily. 'I talked with him politely but he refused to listen. I told him to leave, but he refused to go. 'I could have attacked him first, but it would not have been fair because I know Muay Thai so I let him throw the first punch. 'After that, it happened as is seen in the video. He talked too much and learned a hard lesson.' Peerapat said that police were tracking down the thug to be questioned over the road rage incident. Peerapat said his opponent allegedly threatened him not to press charges, and challenged him to a rematch despite being wiped out It comes after a Muay Thai instructor used his martial arts skills earlier this month to restrain pitbulls after they brutally attacked him earlier this month. Ernesto Chaves was on a morning run in Ponta Pora, west of Sao Paulo, Brazil, when two dangerous dogs attacked him. Using his martial arts skills, the 33-year-old managed to dramatically pin the animals down before he was taken to hospital with multiple injuries, including a bite to the leg and a broken finger. Muay Thai is a martial art that allows fighters to use their feet, fists, shins and elbows, and it is considered to be the national sport of Thailand.

Instant karma! Shocking moment teen gang hurl chairs at restaurant waiters - before one of the attackers gets more than he bargained for
A teen was served instant karma as he was forced to quickly flee after hurling chairs at two restaurant workers as a 'gang of 30 teens' watched on. A shocking video has emerged online of a around 30 youngsters attacking a family restaurant in the seaside Kent town of Broadstairs. The 59-second clip shows a gaggle of yobs storming towards a Italian restaurant, Sardinia, as two staff members appear at the workplace's doorway. Another youth then pushes one of the men as tensions escalate with another teenager picking up a chair and launching it towards a glass pane. As another unidentified item is hurled through the air, the young man picks up a chair and throws it at a staff member, armed with a black chair. Seemingly working in tandem, a separate teen then slams a chair towards the same waiter standing in the doorway, as horrified customers watch on in horror. The previous yob circles back again, as both he and the workman hurl black chairs in each others direction. But karma came around quickly, as a separate staff member emerges from the restaurant and chases one of the teens down the road. Loud shouting could be heard from the group of unruly youngsters as the yob raced away from down the seaside street away from the restaurant worker. It is believed the group of teens were chasing another young person who had hid inside the family restaurant for safety. Restaurant manager, Tony, said four or five tables of guests were inside when the incident transpired. He told The Sun: 'They were trying to get to this boy who they already attacked to beat him again. 'We let him inside and shut the doors, but they attacked the staff and threw chairs. 'He was half their size, I don't know why they would want to do this - there were about 30 of them.' The restaurant boss also spoke of his dismay that the teen's parents had not been in touch following the attack. Another business in the town also had its window broken amid reports of street fights, underage drinking, and bottles being thrown at beach huts as well as thefts. A dispersal order was also issued by police throughout the town following a day of chaos in the town. The force also responded to reports from incidents in the town's train station. A spokesperson for Kent Police said: 'Kent Police is aware of incidents of anti-social behaviour in the Broadstairs area including under-age street drinking, fighting and reports of aggressive behaviour towards staff at shops and restaurants during the evening of Thursday 19 June 2025. 'Officers attended and three arrests were made on suspicion of offences relating to public order, assault and criminal damage. 'Two boys aged 16 and 17, and a 15-year old girl, all from Thanet, have since been released on bail pending further enquiries. 'Officers are currently investigating these incidents, and a dispersal order has been implemented due to ongoing concerns relating to issues caused by a small minority of young people in some public areas including the town centre and beaches. 'We fully understand that residents may be concerned about incidents of crime and disorder committed by the minority, however they should feel reassured that local officers will be on patrol in the area to provide a visible presence to prevent offences from occurring.' Dispersal orders give officers extra powers to stop and search individuals under Section 60 of the Public Order Act. It also give them the authority to move groups of people form an area.
