Dubai Expats Must Exit The UAE Immediately After Job Loss
DUBAI, July 23: Dubai's top immigration official has issued a stern warning to expatriates: overstaying your visa after losing your job is illegal, and authorities are stepping up enforcement. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, reminded residents that visa and residency laws must be respected, even during uncertain times. 'If you follow the rules, no one will question you,' he said. 'No one will come asking why your residency wasn't renewed or why you're overstaying, because you would've left the country like you're supposed to.' His remarks come as the UAE intensifies efforts to crack down on residency violations. According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), more than 32,000 people were caught breaking the Foreign Entry and Residency Law in the first half of 2025 alone. Al Marri stressed that individuals who lose their jobs should exit the country promptly and only return after securing new employment from abroad. 'You may say, 'I lost my job and I'm trying to find another one.' That's fine, but there's a system in place,' he said. 'You don't have to break the law. If you follow the rules, everyone's happy.' The reminder underscores the UAE's zero-tolerance stance on immigration violations and aims to ensure that all foreign residents stay compliant with the grace period provided after employment termination or visa cancellation.

UAE Cracks Down on Unauthorized Golden Visa Promoters
DUBAI, July 9: Dubai-based Rayad Group has issued an official apology and taken full responsibility for its role in promoting a controversial ' lifetime UAE Golden Visa ' scheme, following a firm denial by the UAE's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP). The ICP had earlier warned the public against false claims circulating in the media regarding guaranteed lifetime residency in the UAE. Rayad Group acknowledged recent media attention and public confusion surrounding a so-called nomination-based Golden Visa initiative. The scheme referenced a fixed fee of AED 100,000 and implied lifetime residency, claims that the ICP has strongly refuted. Rayad Group clarified that the initiative was an exploratory partnership with licensed immigration service providers to assess the feasibility of offering advisory support to eligible applicants. The group emphasized that all visa decisions are solely under the jurisdiction of UAE government authorities and that their role was limited to private, non-binding advisory support. 'We have never claimed to guarantee visas or offer shortcuts to official procedures,' the group stated. 'We fully agree with the ICP's position that all Golden Visa applications must be submitted through official channels.' The group also issued an unreserved apology for any public misunderstanding caused, noting that certain statements made by its Managing Director were 'misplaced' and 'did not accurately reflect the company's scope of services or authority.' Rayad confirmed that it does not offer, endorse, or participate in any fixed-price or guaranteed visa programs and announced the discontinuation of its private advisory services for the Golden Visa. In a separate clarification, VFS ETM Services-FZCO, a business unit of VFS Global, confirmed that it had entered into a non-exclusive referral agreement with Rayad Group. It emphasized that its role was strictly limited to informing interested individuals about Rayad's services and directing them to the group, with no involvement in decision-making or processing applications. Meanwhile, the ICP reiterated on July 8 that all Golden Visa applications must be submitted through official UAE government platforms. The authority denied the existence of any lifetime Golden Visa arrangement and warned that no internal or external advisory entity is authorized to process applications. The ICP also stated that legal action would be taken against those spreading misinformation to exploit individuals seeking residency in the UAE. Several Indian and UAE-based media outlets had carried an unverified press release promoting the false claims, which ICP noted was neither supported by UAE law nor validated by competent authorities. The ICP urged the public to rely solely on official government platforms, such as the ICP website or smart application, to verify Golden Visa requirements and procedures. For accurate information, the public can also contact the ICP call centre at 600522222.

Everything You Need to Know About UAE Golden Visa: What's Real and What's Not
DUBAI. July 9: The UAE's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) officially denied rumors circulating in some local and international media outlets regarding the alleged issuance of a 'lifetime Golden Visa' to certain nationalities. In its statement, the ICP emphasized that all Golden Visa applications are handled solely through official UAE government channels. ' No domestic or international advisory agency is authorized to process or facilitate Golden Visa applications,' the authority clarified. It further stated, ' The categories, conditions, and eligibility criteria for Golden Residency are governed strictly by UAE laws, ministerial resolutions, and official regulations. Interested individuals are advised to refer to the ICP's official website or smart application for accurate information.' The clarification follows the ICP's monitoring of misleading press releases from a foreign consultancy, which claimed that a so-called 'lifetime UAE Golden Visa' could be obtained through a nomination process for a fee of AED 100,000. Some of these reports also suggested that Bangladeshi nationals were eligible under this scheme. The press release was picked up by several Indian media outlets and a few UAE-based organizations, without verification or consultation with the competent UAE authorities. The ICP categorically stated that such announcements are not grounded in legal or official policy. Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and public trust, the ICP said: 'We are dedicated to providing a secure and transparent environment for all applicants, and we continuously update our services through our official digital platforms.' Legal Action to Follow While the ICP did not name the source of the false claims, it announced plans to pursue legal action against those responsible. 'These entities have attempted to exploit the aspirations of individuals seeking a better and more stable life in the UAE by spreading misinformation for financial gain,' the statement said. The authority strongly advised the public to ignore baseless rumors and false promises of fast-track residency, urging all interested individuals to rely solely on verified official channels. The UAE Golden Visa remains a well-defined, merit-based residency scheme, administered solely through ICP's platforms. Any offers promising lifetime residency for low fees or crypto investment are unofficial and fraudulent. Always check official ICP channels for accurate information and application procedures. For accurate guidance and procedures, the ICP urged the public to visit its official website or contact its call center at 600 522222.
