Nicolas Hamilton
In 2015, Nicolas Hamilton became the first disabled racing driver in the British Touring Cars series.
But a year later he was out of the sport and had became a gambling addict.
"I didn't feel valuable," Hamilton, the brother of seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis, said.
"I wasn't racing and I wasn't getting sponsorship. My Dad is a multi-millionaire, my brother is a multi-millionaire, and they are going on this upward trajectory.
"I felt very lost and lonely and I just stumbled across gambling."
However, Hamilton, who has cerebral palsy, made his British Touring Cars comeback in 2019 and is currently competing in the 2025 championship.

Beth Shriever
BMX rider Beth Shriever became the first British athlete to win a gold medal in the sport at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
The Essex cyclist had to contend with having her funding cut on the road to Tokyo.
In 2017, UK Sport announced they would only fund male riders, based on results, and Shriever left the national set-up to go solo.
She crowdfunded £50,000 to help her earn the chance to qualify for the Olympics.
"I'm so grateful that people did donate and I was able to get to these places to qualify and get myself on that start line," she said.

Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards
Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards had only been ski jumping for 20 months when he qualified for the Calgary Winter Olympics of 1988, becoming Britain's first-ever competitor in the event.
He took it up because Alpine skiing was too expensive, and his journey was one of pure determination as he borrowed kit, ate out of bins, and slept in his car to achieve his dream.
While Edwards went on to finish last in the both the 70m and 90m events, he became a global and sporting icon.
"I had so much fun getting to Calgary, that Calgary was my gold medal," Edwards said.
"I'm very proud of what I've achieved. I broke boundaries, I pushed envelopes, and I did everything that people said couldn't be done."

Nicola Adams
Double Olympic gold medallist Nicola Adams grew up in a male-dominated boxing world but never gave up on her teenage dream of one day competing at the Olympics.
But when the sport debuted at the 2012 Olympics, she took her chance and went on to win gold, followed by another gold four years later at the Rio Games.
"The funding wasn't there, a lot of us were still working and trying to fund being athletes as well, which was really difficult," Adams said.
"When we'd go away and we wouldn't even have our own competition gear, we'd have to wash it for the other person to wear for competing the next day.
"It was just such a different comparison to when you looked at when the guys went away. They'd have everything.
"They'd have somebody go out a week before, get the hotel set up. They'd have all the rooms on the same floor. They'd make sure all the fridges were stacked, but then we couldn't even get our own separate competition gear."
Episode released on BBC Sounds on 6 August.
Leicester City
Leicester City were the 5,000-1 outsiders who shocked the footballing world to win the Premier League title in 2016 for the first time in their 132-year history.
A year earlier they were bottom of the table, having been promoted from the Championship and struggling to adapt to life in the top flight.
But they turned things around under manager Nigel Pearson to avoid the drop, and when Claudio Ranieri was appointed in the summer of 2015 the club's winning run continued into the new season, and did not stop.
They won 23 of their 38 matches, despite one of the smallest playing budgets in the league, to pull off what remains as one of the greatest unexpected sporting stories of all time.
Two-part episode released on BBC Sounds on 13 August.

The League One season concludes on 3rd May, with the play-offs taking place through the month before the final game of the season, the play-off final at Wembley. League One odds will shift in response to injuries, team form, suspensions, managerial changes, and other factors. League One Winner Odds Punters can find the latest League One winner odds for the outright winner of the competition. By betting on this market, punters are wagering on a certain team to win the League One championship. You can also place an each-way bet on the 2025/26 League One winner odds market, which would return at 1/4 the original odds on a top 3 finish. Birmingham City won the League One title last season with a record number of points (111) breaking Reading's EFL record total of 106 for their Championship-winning season in 2005/06. Birmingham were pre-season favourites to win the title, but this is a division which has thrown up its fair share of surprise winners. As expected, relegated Championship sides are often early favourites, but the competitive nature of the division makes it a tough one to escape. Excluding Birmingham's record-breaking win and the Covid-shortened 2019/20, the average number of points needed to win League 1 over the last 12 years is 96. Previous Betting Odds League One Winners Season Winner Points total Pre-season Odds 2024/25 Birmingham City 111 2/1 2023/24 Portsmouth 92 10/1 2022/23 Plymouth Argyle 101 20/1 2021/22 Wigan Athletic 92 11/1 2020/21 Hull City 89 8/1 League One Promotion Odds This section will provide the latest League One promotion odds for the 25/26 season. The top two teams in the division gain automatic promotion to the Championship, while those placed 3rd to 6th enter the play-offs. The winner of the play-offs is then promoted. There is no each-way option on betting apps for this market, so bettors will only secure a payout by backing one of the three promoted teams. Last season, Wrexham went up automatically with Birmingham City, while Charlton were play-off winners. League One Play-off Odds As an extension to the odds for League One promotion, there is a separate market for play-off-related bets. Betting sites will offer League One odds on a 'top six finish' – meaning a team finishing in 1st to 6th would qualify as a winning bet. The odds for this market will be shorter than the promotion odds, as a team wouldn't need to be promoted for the bet to win. There can be a big gap between the team that finishes first and the team in sixth, including Birmingham finishing 33 points better off than sixth-placed Leyton Orient last season. The side that has finished third in League One has only won the play-offs once out of the last four seasons, which came when Sheffield Wednesday triumphed in the 2022/2023 campaign. League One Relegation Odds The bottom four clubs in the division are relegated to League Two, meaning there's more chance of backing a relegation winner than in any other English professional league. Newly promoted teams from League Two are often tipped to struggle, but many have survived and thrived in the third tier. Over the last three seasons, only one newly promoted side out of four has failed to survive its first season in League One. The average number of points needed to avoid relegation over the last five years is 46. When looking at League One relegation odds, remember to check which teams are having any financial issues and which sides may have lost several star players. League One Top Scorer Odds The League One Golden Boot market is a popular long-term bet. Bettors can have an each-way bet on the League One top scorer market and get a return at 1/4 the odds on a top four or five finish, depending on the bookmaker. Prolific strikers in League One can attract interest from Championship or Premier League clubs, resulting in some being snapped up mid-season and making this market particularly dynamic. There are several other factors to consider too, including penalty duties, playing time, tactical systems and January transfer risks. Liverpool told to offer more than £40m for Brazil international
Liverpool's transfer focus right now is ALL on Alexander Isak. For the second time in the one summer, the Reds are preparing to break the British transfer record. Liverpool signed Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee that could reach £116m - while Isak will be moving for around £130m if a deal is done. LFC x New Era Shop Now LFC Signed Merch Shop Now LFC x Titleist Shop Now The Swede has confirmed he wants to leave Newcastle and take the next step in his career. At 25, he is at the peak of his powers. There are only three weeks left before the start of the season and no doubt Liverpool would LOVE to have him on board before then. Liverpool seeking midfielders If and when Isak is added, Liverpool can again move on to other targets. In their sights is a centre-back - perhaps Marc Guehi - while reinforcements could also be added at central midfield. Anfieldwatch has detailed extensively the club's interest in players like Nico Gonzalez, Samuele Ricci and Mikel Jauregizar. There is no doubt that Richard Hughes and the recruitment department have got midfielders on the list. The burden was heavy on Ryan Gravenberch in the No6 role last season - and he could do with a partner to share the load. Liverpool like Wolves midfielder Andre One player reportedly on the list over the past few windows has been Wolves' Brazil international midfielder Andre. He has just completed his first season in the Premier League - putting out excellent statistics in several categories including tackles won, interceptions and recoveries per FOTMOB. Andre, 24, joined Wolves from Fluminense for around £19m despite interest from Liverpool - and has got a contract at Molineux until 2029. © IMAGO Wolves quote £40m+ for Andre Liverpool have again been named as suitors this summer and the club have now discovered the asking price. In an article revolving around Juventus' interest in the 12-cap Brazilian, GIVEMESPORT reveals that Wolves have put a £40m price tag on Andre's signature. 'They will have to put an offer worth more than £40million on the table if they want to stand a chance of securing his services before the September 1 transfer deadline,' the report reads. 'Juventus entered talks earlier this week, in an attempt to explore the terms that would be needed to convince Wolves to offload Andre.' Having lost Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri - to Manchester United and Manchester City respectively - there is no desire on the part of manager Vitor Pereira to break up his squad any further. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool get back involved with this transfer chase or if Juve will persuade Wolves to part with their midfield jewel.

Joe Root becomes the 3rd highest scorer in test cricket as England takes control against India
MANCHESTER, England — Joe Root became the third highest run scorer in test cricket on Friday as he helped England reach 332-2, only 26 runs behind India. Root was 63 not out at lunch on day 3 of the fourth test at Old Trafford, with Ollie Pope 70 not out. The 34-year-old Root overtook India's Rahul Dravid and South Africa's Jacques Kallis in overall runs scored. Root's current total is 13,322, needing 57 more runs to overtake Australia's Ricky Ponting (13,378) but still far behind first-placed Sachin Tendulkar (15,921). Of more importance for England was a commanding opening session in Manchester with the host heading for a substantial first-innings lead and hoping to clinch the five-match series, which it currently leads 2-1. Resuming on 225-2 and replying to India's first innings of 358, Root and Pope were both on half centuries as the visitors struggled to have any impact with the ball. But Root's day could have ended early when he survived nearly being run out on 22 following a miscommunication with Pope that left him way out of position when Ravindra Jadeja tried to capitalize. Before that Root narrowly avoided being out leg before wicket. England scored 107 off 28 overs in the morning session. England carried on its impressive batting from day 2 when it took control of the match with a blistering opening partnership of 166 by Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. ___ James Robson is at ___ AP cricket:
