No rise in Egypt radiation levels amid regional developments: Cabinet
CAIRO, June 14 (MENA) - There are no signs of increased radiation levels across the country due to potential radiation leaks amid Iranian-Israeli military escalation, the Cabinet media center said on Saturday.
In a statement, the center added the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) had been monitoring the situation around the clock, particularly in relation to nuclear facilities in neighboring countries, as developments in the region unfold.
'There are no indications of any change or rise in background radiation within the Arab Republic of Egypt,' the authority said in a statement, adding that it continues to track updates through coordination with national agencies and reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Radiation levels across Egypt are being monitored through the authority's early warning and detection system, which uses advanced sensors deployed nationwide.
The authority urged citizens to rely on official sources for radiological safety updates. (MENA)

Scientists Discover Slow-Moving River Beneath Antarctica's Kamb Ice Stream
Rana Atef On Tuesday, the results of the latest studies conducted in Antarctica were posted by the Earth website. Researchers drilled more than 1,600 feet into the West Antarctic Ice Sheet and discovered a subglacial river flowing beneath the Ross Ice Shelf. This discovery is offering a new insight into how Antarctica melts from below, and it could have big implications for the future of coastal towns and cities. The river is a blend of freshwater and seawater, and it is making its way toward the ocean. The leader of the latest expedition, Huw Horgan, said, "We struck water at the end of the borehole and with the help of our camera, we even discovered a school of lobster-like creatures — 400 kilometers from the open ocean." These surges of the river, which are increased every decade, may carve out channels in the ice, so it helps in sustaining hidden ecosystems. Scientists believe that monitoring this river can help in observing the sea levels. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
