Jefferson Hills road to close again for 2 months
A major roadway in Jefferson Hills will close again due to construction for the Mon-Fayette Expressway project.
A section of Coal Valley Road that runs through Jefferson Hills and into Clairton will be closed for around two months beginning on Tuesday. Crews will be reconstructing the road around the new overhead bridges.
The roadway will be shut down between state routes 837 and 885. A nearly four-mile detour will be in place.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike said the road should reopen in early August, depending on weather.
Coal Valley Road has closed several times over the past few years as part of the ongoing project.

Afternoon to be sunny and warm, as temperatures jump to low 80s
Sunny and very warm this afternoon, temperatures will jump to the low 80s. Cool, comfortable start to sunny and seasonable day
It's a cool and comfortable start to the day with temperatures in the 50s. Aside from some patchy river valley fog, plenty of clear air and sunshine will greet you out the door. Highs today will be seasonable in the low 80s. Humidity will ramp up a bit Thursday with the next chance for at least some spotty storms Friday afternoon. While it won't be as warm this weekend, it will be very humid at times with scattered thunderstorms expected both Saturday and Sunday. There will be plenty of dry hours for the U.S. Open, but guests will have to be vigilant during the afternoon as pop-up storms could produce very heavy rain.
