Cowser's 3-run homer and Morton's solid outing lead Orioles past Rays
TAMPA, Fla. — Colton Cowser hit a three-run homer and Charlie Morton allowed one run over six innings in his 400th major league game as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 on Thursday night at Steinbrenner Field.
With two outs in the sixth, Cowser's drive off Edwin Uceta broke a 1-all tie. Cowser, who also doubled, has homered in three straight games.
Ryan O'Hearn drove in the other Baltimore run, and Gunnar Henderson scored twice for the Orioles.
Morton (4-7) started in his 36th career ballpark, most among active pitchers. He allowed six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.
Four relievers blanked the Rays over the final three innings. Félix Bautista retired the side in the ninth to earn his 15th save.
Yandy Diaz doubled and singled to extend his hitting streak to 10 games for Tampa Bay. Drew Rasmussen (6-5) allowed two runs and four hits in 5 1/3 innings. He had won five straight decisions.
In the top of the seventh, Rays pitcher Hunter Bigge was carted off the field in a frightening scene after he was struck by a foul ball in the dugout.
Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman fouled a pitch into the Tampa Bay dugout and it hit Bigge, a 27-year-old right-hander currently on the injured list with a lat strain.
Emergency medical personnel quickly arrived to attend to Bigge. After several quiet minutes as Rays players knelt in the field, Bigge was placed on a backboard and carted off. He gave a thumbs-up gesture as fans rose for a standing ovation.
The game resumed after a delay of nearly nine minutes.
With two outs in the eighth, Orioles reliever Bryan Baker walked Junior Caminero to load the bases in a 4-1 game, then retired Jake Mangum on a flyball to escape the jam.
Tampa Bay went 1 for 9 with runners in scoring position.
Baltimore opens a series at Yankee Stadium on Friday night with RHP Tomoyuki Sugano (5-4, 3.38 ERA) facing LHP Max Fried (9-2, 1.89).
Rays RHP Shane Baz (6-3, 4.54 ERA) starts Friday at home against Detroit RHP Jack Flaherty (5-7, 4.03).

How to watch USMNT v Haiti live: Stream link, TV channel, team news, prediction
The United States men's national team gets a final tune-up for the Gold Cup knockout rounds when Mauricio Pochettino leads the team into Arlington for a match-up with Les Grenadiers of Haiti on Sunday. The Yanks have sealed passage from the group stage with wins over Trinidad and Tobago and Saudi Arabia, and could meet Mexico or Costa Rica in the quarterfinal, and they'll have no way of knowing whether El Tri or Los Ticos are first or second in the Group A prior to kickoff. Advertisement So a match-up with rivals Mexico could be coming win, lose, or draw against Haiti, as Mexico face Costa Rica later in the evening with El Tri only clear of Los Ticos on one goal worth of differential and Costa Rica ahead on goals by one. Haiti can still reach the knockout rounds with a win over the Yanks plus help from Trinidad and Tobago. The Saudis have three points while the USMNT and T&T each have one. T&T needs a win over the Saudis and a Haiti loss or draw versus the U.S. (or a blowout win over Saudi Arabia that is four goals better than Haiti's win over the USMNT). For live updates and highlights throughout USMNT vs Haiti, check out PST's live blog coverage below. How to watch USMNT vs Haiti live, stream link and start time Kick off time: 7pm ET, Sunday Advertisement How to watch: FOX, TUDN Stream online: or the FOX Sports app USMNT team news, focus Haji Wright is dealing with a reported achilles injury of undisclosed severity, though the forward was in attendance at the Saudi Arabia match. Damion Downs also dealt with a late injury after coming off the bench. Tyler Adams and Johnny Cardoso both returned from short injury absences against the Saudis, though whether they'll be fit to start by Sunday is a question mark. Pochettino did not rotate his XI much between the first two games, but he can do what he wants on Sunday which could mean opportunities for John Tolkin, Nathan Harriel, Quinn Sullivan, Paxten Aaronson, and/or Brian White. Haiti team news, focus Les Grenadiers won't have Nantes center back Jean-Kevin Duverne, who was sent off early in their 1-1 draw with Trinidad and Tobago. They will have veteran AEK Athens striker Frantzy Pierrot, who has 32 goals in 40 caps including the lone goal in this tournament. All-time leading scorer Duckens Nazon is also in the squad as is goalkeeper Johny Placide. This is one of the better performing Haiti sides in recent history and it's led by an international management veteran in French manager Sebastien Migne. USMNT vs Haiti prediction This match may end up being trickier than the win over bunkered-in Saudi Arabia, as Haiti need a win. That impetus to attack should hopefully lead to a more appealing spectacle, one that would benefit the USMNT. USMNT 3-1 Haiti.

George Kittle on Robert Saleh's return: Violence is coming
George Kittle doesn't play defense, but Robert Saleh's return to the 49ers still has him fired up. Saleh built a strong defense when he was the team's coordinator from 2017-2020 and turned that success into a job as the head coach of the Jets. Saleh couldn't reach the same heights in that role and was fired during the 2024 season, which left him available for a second stint with the NFC West club this year. Advertisement During an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show this week, Kittle shared a message for the rest of the league about what Saleh's return to the team will mean. "Violence is coming is what I would say," Kittle said. The tight end expanded on his thoughts about what Saleh brings to the table. "He's really good at his job, and I'm really excited that we somehow convinced him to be our defensive coordinator again," Kittle said. "He knows what he's talking about, he's inspiring, he gets the boys fired up, and he just happens to also be really, really smart. So, I'm pumped to have him back in the building, just hanging out with him a little bit, talking about stuff. You can just tell he's ready to roll this year, and he's gonna get the boys fired up." The 49ers selected defensive players with their first five picks in this year's draft and the new blood will be needed after a slew of departures on that side of the ball this offseason. If Saleh can mold them into a similar unit to the one he built in his first 49ers run, a rebound from last year's disappointing season in Northern California could be in the cards.

7 Point Guards The Milwaukee Bucks Should Target In Free Agency
The Milwaukee Bucks will need to dip into the free agent pool this offseason if they want to stay competitive around Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2025–26. With Damian Lillard expected to miss most—if not all—of next season due to an Achilles injury, and Kevin Porter Jr. likely to decline his player option, Milwaukee is staring at a point guard rotation that's completely empty. The good news is the Bucks have a few tools at their disposal this summer that weren't available in years past. They hold a $14.1 million non-taxpayer midlevel exception and a $5.1 million biannual exception, which they can use to bring back their own free agents or go shopping for new talent. Most of the midlevel exception should be earmarked to retain Gary Trent Jr., but the biannual could come in handy—especially if they keep their spending in check with Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis. With that in mind, here are seven affordable free agent point guards the Bucks should target this offseason. Tyus Jones might not make many highlight reels, but he's a steady hand at the wheel. He took a discount to play with the Phoenix Suns last year and could do the same to come (close to) home—he's a Minnesota native. Jones protects the ball, knocks down open threes, and makes smart decisions. Defensively, he's a target due to his size, and opponents will likely go after him in the playoffs. But during the grind of the regular season, he should hold up just fine. At 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, Dinwiddie brings size to the position—something that could benefit the Bucks if Doc Rivers wants to experiment with more switching defensively. Dinwiddie's best days are behind him, but he still averaged 11 points per game with the Mavericks last season and can create his own shot when needed. He's also a better table-setter than Jones when it comes to creating for others. Monte Morris has been quiet the last two seasons, which could work in Milwaukee's favor if it drives his price down. At his best, Morris is a reliable tertiary playmaker with a smooth midrange game. The Bucks would be banking on him rediscovering his Denver Nuggets form from 2020–2022. Exum never lived up to his top-five draft billing, but he's carved out a second act as a versatile bench contributor. He has the size to play multiple guard spots and could give the Bucks lineup flexibility. He's not flashy, but he's proven he can stay on the floor and make an impact. Lowry is no longer the bulldog he once was, but he could bring veteran leadership, steady hands, and 15 smart minutes per night. He knows how to manage a game, keep teammates organized, and play within his limitations. If the Bucks want to take a flyer, Fultz fits the mold. The former No. 1 pick has battled injuries for most of his career and appeared in only 21 games last season. Still, when healthy, he can flash explosive playmaking ability and would bring a different dynamic to the rotation. Carter found out the hard way that the grass isn't always greener. After a breakout season with the Bucks in 2022–23, he signed a bigger deal with Chicago—only to see his minutes and production drop off. A reunion could make sense if he's willing to return in a depth role. He wouldn't be a regular rotation lock, but he knows the franchise and could step in when needed.
