Just go to Settings, then Security & Privacy, then select More Security & Privacy and tap Extend Unlock. Turn off three features: On Body Detected, Trusted Places and Trusted Devices. While seeing notifications on the lock screen can be handy, it can also be a huge security risk if those notifications reveal personal information like banking details, medical appointments, emails or sensitive work details that shouldn't be shared. Fortunately, those notifications can all be toggled off at any time, for any app. Simply head back to the Settings menu, then Notifications, choose Notifications on Lock Screen, then 'Hide silent conversations and notifications.' Then you can select 'Do not show any notifications' for any apps that you don't want to see alerts for. Of all the permissions, the one to be most strict about will be your location and personalized location. That's because your phone is always using your location and tracking your current position in order to provide that data to the apps that need it (maps or delivery services are good examples). However, because your phone also keeps a log about everywhere you go, you should make sure that apps that don't need that data (Duolingo or Pinterest perhaps), don't have access to it. Turn off location for apps that don't need it, and if an app does need it, only turn it on when using the app. Go to Settings, Location, Location Services, Tap on Google Locations History and then turn it off or you can opt to have it auto delete after a set period of time. Unless you're one of the very rare people who are thinking "you know what I need in my life? More ads!" then it's probably safe to assume that you are ready to turn off or block some of the ads on your phone. You don't need them personalized, you need them gone. Open Settings, then go to Google, next click on Ads and tap your Google Account. From there, you should be able to click through to Data and Privacy, then Ad Settings and Ad Personalization where you can opt out. You don't need to make their job easier — trust me, ads will find you.

Where Will Rivian Be in 10 Years?
Rivian is unveiling three new models: The R2, R3, and R3X. These vehicles will change the game in a major way. But software will drive the company's future. 10 stocks we like better than Rivian Automotive › Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ: RIVN) has a very exciting future ahead of it. While sales growth should be lackluster in 2025, next year everything will change. Starting in early 2026, the company expects to begin shipments of three new mass-market vehicles. Looking even further ahead, the company's aggressive investments in software and autonomous driving could give it a huge advantage against other electric vehicle (EV) stocks, even well-financed peers like Tesla. Where will Rivian be by 2035? Get ready for an exciting forecast. By far the most exciting thing that will happen to Rivian in the near future will be the launch of three new models: The R2, R3, and R3X. These mass market models will make Rivian's products affordable to tens of millions of new buyers. All three are expected to debut for under $50,000, targeting the mid-sized SUV market that represents one of the largest and fastest-growing segments of the vehicle market. I expect the R2 to launch first, with management guiding for first deliveries sometime in early 2026. But as with most vehicle launch timelines, don't be surprised to see meaningful deliveries ramp until late 2026, or even 2027, when the R3 and R3X should see production begin to ramp. Regardless of whether these vehicles scale deliveries in 2026 or 2027, however, this catalyst will change the game for Rivian. Tesla didn't launch its affordable Model Y and Model 3 vehicles until 2019 and 2020 respectively. It took years to fully scale production and bring it to other geographies. But today, those two vehicles account for more than 90% of Tesla's automobile sales. The importance of the Model Y and Model 3 launches for Tesla cannot be understated. The same may prove true for Rivian's trios of new mass market launches. But beyond these catalysts, the most exciting thing that will drive Rivian's value won't be model introductions, but software development. It's expensive to scale up an electric vehicle business from scratch. It takes billions of dollars, long stretches of time, and the right partners. That's why last year's capital infusion from Volkswagen -- an investment that could ultimately scale up to $5 billion -- was so critical for Rivian. It gave it the capital necessary to get its mass market models to market. But the reason the deal was forged wasn't about vehicles at all. It was about software. "What we realized over the last few years is the enormous difficulty for incumbent existing auto manufacturers to develop their own full stack software," Rivian's CEO told investors at the time. "I really deeply believe this is one of the hardest things for existing manufacturers to do just because of the way historically the electronics and software space has evolved within automotive." Volkswagen can now access Rivian's proprietary software stack in the design of its vehicles, potentially saving it huge sums of money, not to mention shortening lead times. It's a win-win for both automakers, but also a huge vote of confidence in Rivian's software offering. The company has claimed that it is superior to existing architectures, with the ability to provide better performance for 25% to 40% less cost. Volkswagen's investment adds credence to these claims, meaning Rivian's future vehicles could perform better than the competition at a lower price. After achieving positive gross margins over the last two quarters for the first time in company history, scaling the business further with controlled costs could help Rivian become a household name like Tesla. While most eyes will be on its hardware offerings, Rivian's true potential could be in its software. Volkswagen's investment, which could reach $5 billion total, is nearly one-third of Rivian's current market cap, indicating its potential value. In five years, Rivian should have millions of additional cars on the road thanks to its mass market vehicles. But in 10 years, it could be a leading software provider for the entire industry, or at least any manufacturers that don't specialize in their own tech stacks like Tesla.
